. . . I believe it will be a bit more obvious than this. I am certain that the marks will leave some sort of physical evidence on your skin. I am also certain that you would have to make the choice of choosing the mark or dying.

That's true. Like the early Christians and those people in Third World Countries./ I've heard it said that in some places people have to choose to live or turn away from God. I also tend to believe that if Christians do accept the Mark that God will judge them harshly for that will mean that they have turned their back to him.

The question is then, what IS the mark of the beast?

If you say that implanting chips (generally my friends, please keep an open mind on this) is the mark of the Beast because it is the worst of technology (according to what it seems like from most people's perspective) then I honestly say that I don't believe that it is the Mark.

Techonology has brought out both the best and worst of mankind. One wonders why though, at the end of the day, why did God give us this knowledge in the first place. I'm for everything that enchances human life, and helps us not only to discover ourselves, but God as well.

For me, this also means preserving the lives of the elderly. If this chip had been implanted in my grandmother, she would not have had her treatment delayed because they were looking for her files.

And in a marked difference from the rest: I WOULD HAVE THE CHIP IMPLANTED.

If God can provide food for the animals and nourishment for the plants, how much more would He give us?

This is still up to an individual's choice, of course.

Nicely put. Just like in the passage

Psalms 37:25 - I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging bread.

The Lord will provide for us .

I would like to believe the assurance in the Left Behind books, when the Rabbi says that God will not allow Christians to take the mark because of human weakness. I seriously believe that it will be like that when it happens.

Revelations 13:17
so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.

It states nowhere that those without the Mark of the Beast would die, but it does state in the Verse beofore that they would be slain if they didn't Worship the Image of the Beast.

Dude, you're talking about those books like they're Scripture, which really shouldn't be done. Until I see those books in the Bible, I choose to take them with a Grain of Salt. One shouldn't put so much faith in a Book series.

I honestly believe that God put those books on earth as a sort of last warning before he comes. You are right though. I shouldn't put too much faith in those books.

I find it hard to believe that God will not allow Christians to take the Mark when he has given us Free Will. God would prefer for us not to sin either, but he knows that we will. If he would not allow us to take the Mark then why warn us against taking it?

i think its more a matter of faith. those "christians" who are weak in their faith may succumb(sp?) to the Mark, while those stronger Christians will hold out against it.

That's true, because many ppl say that they are "christians" but they just go to church and then they're done for the week with Christ. Christians who are strong in their faith will probably be able to recognize the mark with the help of God and then they willl be able to refuse it.
On the chip matter, I don't think it's the mark of the beast. Personally I would probably get the chip, or make sure my kids would have it(when I have kids), the chip would come in handy if you were kidnapped or went missing, the police would be able to find you, and probably save you from certain death.

Well I've always believed the end of the world would be in my lifetime; even before I became a Christian.

It's totally possible that the Mark of the Beast would be a microchip or something of the like. Hopefully, most Christians will be smart enough to recognize it for what it is and steer clear.

Yeah, actually I talked about this very thing with my dad & he said it's a possibilty that the world may end by around 2012 or so, since all the calenders that have been preserved from waaaay back say so (they end at 2011 or 2012). 3nodding
