"Well then I will fight off explodin too!" he said, puffing out his chest. He loved his papa the most when they were joking around like this, it wasn't like how he had to act with his other foal friends, or with his sisters or mother. It was much more relaxed.
He felt better about asking the question now...he still didn't understand why it was such a big deal. Then again, having foals must be a big deal because everyone seemed to get so excited when it happened. So maybe it was hard to find them, or something. On that note, where DID foals come from?
Luckily for Bairn, Kiefer was a bit too embaressed from the last question to bring up THIS subject.
"That sounds like lots of fun!" said Kiefer, imagining traveling the areas with his newly found grandmother and meeting all sorts of different soquili that were related to him and see how they looked and acted. He looked over at his father
"Can we go now, papa?" he asked, fairly sure that his father wouldn't let them just run off from him right now to find people. No, he would probubly have to wait a bit. Really, being a foal would be quite frustrating sometimes!

Spunky little fella, wasn't he? Bairn leaned in towards his mother and whispered. "He gets that from you, definitely not me or Astia." Dark eyes watched his only son as he puffed out his chest. That was something that Bairn refused to let himself do, even though every once in a while he did do it and in front of Kiefer he had no problem being the father that his son needed. But the golden colt needed some straightening out too, if he wanted to grow up to be his father. So the serious Bairn came out more then the 'playful' one.
He watched his son's expression and wondered what was going on in his little mind. Wait? His little mind? Bairn mentally laughed at the thought, poor boy. He had in no way, a little mind. That was Bliss all the way. "You alright, son?" He finally asked, just staring at him. Poor boy, indeed. Being young was a bad stage for Bairn. He was more then happy to grow up.
Blinking slightly, the father tilted his head. "Not...now, no sorry Kiefer. Your mother would literally kill me if I took her from you without asking. And besides, your too young to travel far distances."
Mahiri rolled her eyes at her only son. "Bairn, please. He doesn't always have to get everything he does 'wrong' from me or your father. You know, you or your sisters don't act anything like us." It did make her laugh, however because he was right. Kiefer did slightly act like her when he got excited. He probably didn't act like this a lot, but the fox colored mare definitely saw some of her in him.
Looking down at her grandson, the old mare nodded. "Yes, fun indeed. Anything with me, you'll soon find out, is fun. Don't worry love, I'll always be there for fun in your life." A happy giggle escaped her throat and she nodded.
"See, Kiefer. Your Father won't let you go. Sorry dear."

Kiefer watched the adults whisper to eachother. He knew it was about him, why else would they keep it from him? He didn't like when they did that. It made him feel stupid, and he didn't like that feeling.
"Fine. Just wondering what you two are wisperin about" he said, not afraid to show his curiosity to his grandmother and father. It only occured to him after he said it that it might not be the best thing to say, but then again, isn't that how all of his actions were? Do now, think later.
"But...papa..." he said, sounding a bit struck out. Another notch against him, as a foal. It seemed like being young as very frustrating. He knew he could travel, he just knew. Mama wouldn't mind him gone, would she? She had Abattie and Tahlia, and he knew alot of the time he was just a burden.
Of course, Kiefer knew that it was pretty useless to argue with his father. Alot fo the times he just left and did it anyway. But this time he needed grandma to be on his side as well, and she we clearly with his father on this one.
How unfair.

"Kiefer, don't be rude. Adults will talk amongst themselves and sometimes there are restrictions to what you can and cannot hear." Bairn nodded firmly, his voice rather stern. There was no way he was going to let his son talk to him like that, or push him around. Kidding or not kidding, the tanned father didn't want his only son growing up like that. He knew better of course.
"Don't 'But Papa' me, Kiefer you know better then that. And I know that you know the concesquances. Your Mother wouldn't like that, and you know it." Dark brown eyes glared down at the golden colt, where did he come off talking like that.
The old stallion stole a glance at his mother, he knew that he was being to strict with Kiefer, but he couldn't help himself. There were times when he was strict with everyone he knew. And if his son wanted to grow up like his father, there were going to be lessons taught.
The old fox colored mare frowned. Poor guy, only wanting to have a little fun and to be truly apart of this family. Mahiri looked towards her only son before turning back to Kiefer with a small wink.
"Bairn..." She began, and only paused for a silly dramatic effect. "You know better then to be rude to the only male that shares your blood." She couldn't help herself but giggle. That was a rather stupid remark, but she knew it would work.
"Honey, though...honestly...Astia trusts me. Any mare would be crazy not to." Mahiri stuck out her tongue after recieving a very annoyed look from Bairn. "So if little Kiefer wants to go and meet his family, I could take him. Just tell his mother that I'm with him." Mahiri nodded slowly, she knew too, that Bairn would never accept this, but it was worth a shot.
Anything to keep her grandson happy, of course. Lowering her head to Kiefer's level, the old mare whispered. If Bairn was going to play that game with his only son, perhaps Mahiri could play it back to him. "Don't worry little one. Your father will have to give in to me someway. I AM his mother, afterall."

Kiefer flattened his ears back. He hated when his father was stearn with him and as soon as his father looked away for a moment, he stuck out his tounge. He knew that he should respect his father and be good, but he just coulnd't.
"See? Grandma is gunna take me!" he said with a laugh. He really liked her, she was so much fun. Her father was nice to joke around with, but when he got like that, he just wanted to leave. Sometimes he did, and then papa REALLY got angry.
"I hope so" he said, having his moods lifted quite a bit from his father's scolding. He wanted to leave if it wern't for grandma. He did feel a bit bad for being rude in front of her, but she didn't seem to care.
