Ezri's eyes lit up at the question, and she spread her hands out wide as though she could encompass everything she read within them,
"Oh, I read a bit of everything, but my favourites are fantasy. I like fairytales and such the best."

Well, that'd be the best way to explain it to him. Tolkien wasn't exactly a fairy tale, but it was close enough.

Dageus tried his very best not to look horrified at the mention of fairytales. Oh... gods! Those were those awful, terrible things that his sadistic little sister loved, weren't they? How could anyone like those?! He fought hard to keep his expression neutral, though. "Fantasy? Is that like princesses and dragons and stuff?" he asked, looking almost pained in his attempt to not look too rude.

It didn't stop his mind from running in circles, though, with every neuron screaming, "Fairytales bad! Fairytales bad! Fairytales bad!"

Ezri didn't seem to notice the panick on the boy's face,
"Well, my favourites are the Knights, though."

She mimicked a sword with her hands, thrusting towards an imaginary foe, "Honour, Justice, Dragon slaying!"

She shook out of it, her cheeks turning a little pink,
"Though, I did like the princesses when I was little, but mostly I liked the princesses who could fight too."

Dageus blinked. Oh. Well, fighting princesses weren't so bad. He supposed he had a few of those sort of siblings. "My dad is part dragon..." he commented, more to himself than to Ezri. He didn't understand dragon-slaying. Dragons were cool. And big. And fluffy!

Some of them, anyway...

His grin widened at her mock-lunge. "Princesses who fight are cool. Two of my sisters fight with swords. Princesses with big poofy dresses and loads of face paint are beeeeeh!" he said emphatically. Okay, so that stuff on their face wasn't really paint, but he couldn't remember what it was called anyway. But it was yucky, and that was all that mattered.

She smiled,
"Well, only fighting the -bad- dragons, then." she'd never really met any dragons before, "And they're just stories anyhow. There are lots of stories that don't have dragons at all but are fairytales. Like Grimm's fairytales."

Ezri looked amongst the shelves for a book on that,
"Here," she handed it to him, "You might like them as well. Some of them are similar to Shakespeare."

Dageus nodded wisely. Yes, only fighting the bad dragons made a great deal of sense to him. His ears twitched noticeably when she brought up the fairytale concept again. Oh no. Fairytales... happy endings and lovey-dovey pretty princesses! It was too much!

Startled out of his panicy thoughts by the appearance of another book, he very carefully took it, eyeing it as though it were a bomb waiting to go off. "What're they about?" he asked suspiciously, not sure if he could fly with this whole 'fairytale' thing. Too much lovey stuff for his poor brain to handle.

"Oh, witches and wolves and a few princesses, but all the stories are pretty neat."

She was pretty sure he wouldn't enjoy some of the stories-- Cinderella and Allerleiruah and a few others probably weren't up his alley. But Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel and a few others would probably entertain him.

She grinned,
"Though, some of them are about princesses, but some others you'll like."

While Dageus wasn't completely convinced that his brain wouldn't melt by reading the stories, he had to reason that any girl who read Shakespeare had to be reasonably intelligent, which meant she wouldn't read dumb stuff. He nodded, a little more at ease now. He tucked both books beneath one furry arm, not bothered in the least by their heft. He'd carried rocks heavier than these!

"As long as it's not lots of lovey stuff," he said, wrinkling up his nose. Ewwwww, mushy. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a few random neurons were firing and informing him that he still was lost from his supervising parent. However, said neurons were small in number and size, which meant that the majority of his brain was still focusing on the idea of reading more Shakespeare and not processing the fact that his dad would probably be unhappy with his wandering.
