"I was not hallucenating. And I'm definetly not crazy. Watch your mouth Cerus." Heartbreak gave him a particulary nasty snarl before a glitter in the river made her head turn to the river. But it was gone as quickly as it appeared.
"Sleeping in a place like this? Are you planning to get mobbed? This isn't the best place for napping, if you haven't noticed."

Cerus shrugged slightly. "I was tired, so I lay down... And I didn't plan to get half mauled after it! The mobs aren't half as scary as you are..." He mumbled, his eyebrow raised. "Besides, there's no-one else around here..."

Heartbreak sighed and laid down with Cerus. He was right for once. No one was around, and maybe there wasn't a mob at all. She was probably trying to hard to insult the male in her own way.
Putting on a face of disgust, Heartbreak abruptly stood up and paced around. She couldn't think of anything, and ended up standing by the river again.

Cerus' eyebrow nearly lifted straight off the back of his head as Heartbreak lay beside him for a moment. The sudden touch of wamrth compared to the cold of the night air made him shiver. He hoped she hadn't felt it as she stood back up and walked over to the waterside. Cerus winced as he got up too, a little shaky still. He found himself gazing at her for a moment before shaking his head to clear his thoughts.
"You seem very distracted, Heartbreak.... Is it stupid of me to think for a second you might share what's wrong...?"

Heartbreak hissed the instant Cerus showed signs of concern, but quickly stopped herself. She knew something was wrong with her, but was not sure whether it was because of the male standing next to her of the sparkling river.
"Why would I share my thoughts with you?" She replied, getting more irritated by each passing moment. "You're barely anything to me, even if we know each other."
And she was also uncertian, though Heartbreak did not want to admit that. Not now anyway.

Cerus sighed a little. "There was me thinking you might show me a bit of leniency after tearing my leg open..."
He walked over to stand beside her and looked into the water below. "Still, you can't deny you were staring at something in here... but since you have no intention of sharing that with me either, shall we go...?"
He wasn't sure where he meant to 'go' to... But maybe she had an idea...

"Go?" Heartbreak repeated, still with a harsh voice. "If you want to go, you're free to. I'm..." Her mouth remained open as she searched for the right words.
"... fine staying here." She finished. "Unless you want me to come with you for whatever reason, which I doubt."

Cerus sighed slightly and tried not to roll his eyes. "I wouldn't have asked you to come if I didn't want you to... I'm just going to find somewhere to bathe my leg...." He added the last bit, hoping it would maybe guilt-trip her into coming with him. He enjoyed her company, despite the remarks and the nastiness... and the mauling...

Cerus's last part of his sentence made Heartbreak glance down at his leg, which was still in a bad condition. She gulp silently and stared at the creek.
"If you're thinking of the river right next to us... I..." She was going to say it was a bad idea, since there might be harmful stuff in the water, but it looked innocently clean and crystal clear.
"It's alright to use, I guess." Heartbreak shook her head in trying not to sound hesistant, especially in front of him.

Cerus' ears lifted as Heartbreak agreed to walk with him.
"The way you've been peering at this creek, I'm not 100% sure what you've seen..." He half-laughed with a cocky smirk. "I was thinking of finding somewhere upstream, maybe a pooled area I can swim in... Still up for a walk?"

"Whatever was in the water should appear again..." Heartbreak muttered to herself. She didn't realized she was saying that out loud, but looked up at Cerus and shrugged.
"I'm up for a walk... Though you might not get far with that leg, unless you just go on three legs-" She stopped talking suddenly, asking herself why she cared on what he did or not. It shouldn't matter to Heartbreak if Cerus could walk or not.
She scoffed and trotted along the riverbank, upstream. If he still wanted to go, he would follow.
