Brayden smiled, following suit, walking together alongside Kaya as the two set off. He enjoyed being close to his husband, even the simple touch on his shoulder was both calming and pleasant. Thankfully, he didn't run into any trouble-making Pokemon (the current Dodrio following along behind him excluded. Aella was trotting along, chirping between her three heads, apparently getting to know one another), and the walk was thus far without incident.
Brayden couldn't help but admire the scenery a bit as they walked, there were many twisting paths that seemed to loop back around. It was clearly made with trainers in mind, offering lots of paths close to the grassy areas that Pokemon liked to inhabit. It made for easy training, he realized.

Sorry for the delay. We're moving and I haven't had much time to get online the last few days.}}
Kaya walked along with Bray, mostly in silence. He hummed a few random notes from Hoenn Sound as he walked, the feel alone of Bray's hand on his hip making him feel quite happy and content. He decided he'd not react when he heard a Pokeball at his waist pop and Tin appeared behind him. The Elekid was well behaved and he knew that he would be following quickly.
The scenery was rather interesting to the man. This island had been culturized by Sinnoh with the intent on making a place where man interfered with nature in as small a way as possible. Even the paths that led through the areas were simple dirt tracks, the plant-life was simply unable to grow along the paths due to the frequency of travel on them. It truly was a breathtaking sight to behold.

((No problemo. Moving can be a real pain in the butt. Good luck with the move. Just make sure you label your boxes well. I was digging in boxes for weeks after the move, looking for certain things. Although, maybe its just because I was slow with the unpacking...))
Brayden continued on alongside Kaya, watching the scenery for a bit. He really was enjoying the sights of the island so far. Honestly when he had first heard of the island, the idea of a resort getaway had made it seem like it would be more urbanized than this. It was a pleasant surprise to find that it held just as many wooded areas and paths to explore as any other area in the regions.
He kept up the companionable silence for a bit. Although he took an unspoken pleasure in hearing Kaya hum along with a tune that sounded somewhat familiar.
It wasn't for a while before he spoke up, and even then, it started out somewhat tentative.
"Hey... uh, I was wondering," Bray looked to Kaya as they walked, "Its about the Aqua Buckler... I was wondering if you'd be willing to help teach me to use it better?" He certainly prayed that that statement didn't sound too pathetically hopeful.
"Back on Harmony Island, you helped me out in getting it to actually work right," he elaborated, "And you had a great connection with your Hana Nagamaki... Sorry if this sounds like a stupid request, but I was wondering if you could give me a few pointers?" he asked.
He had been meaning to ask for a while now, but just never really gathered up the muster to do so. He was still a bit timid about using the power of the buckler, and wasn't even really sure about whether he should still have it.
"To be honest, I was half-considering giving it back to the ocean once we defeated the Dragonair," Bray explained, looking down a bit sheepishly, "I was unsure of whether I should still be in possession of it."

{{Meh. We're pretty much done moving but the internet's being retarded and I can't get online from my room since none of my wireless devices can seem to connect to the stupid cable company's wifi router signal thanks to it having a WPA-Key on it to make it a secured network. They were stupid and didn't listen when we said we wanted a Modem with an Unsecured network.}}
Kaya's mind remained on the scenery around him for most of te time he walked with Bray, occassionally drifting off into the unknown. The male's thoughts were a bit jumbled at the moment, though his partner wasn't likely to understand those thoughts solely from the look on Kaya's face. Can they tell? Should I come clean? Is it really in their best interest? What happens if I can't keep this up? His outward appeareance showed only alm, but his internal dialogue seemed a bit panicked.
The sound of Brayden's voice snapped him out of his mental seizure for the moment. The man thought for a moment before he spoke. "I can't say I truly understand it but I think I can give you a hint." he admitted, albeit he seemed more sheepish than Bray was about asking. "I just kept thinking of the connection I have with my element. The flora of the world all seem to enjoy my company and I, theirs." He looked down beside the pathway and noticed a single wilting tulip. Kneeling beside it, he rubbed his index finger across the flower's wilted back and whispered to it. "The rain will come. Hold on just a bit longer." The flower seemed to have suddenly found new life, looking much more lively, though still wilted, as he stood again. "Try thinking of that connection you have with the sea. Connect you desire to protect the sea with the buckler and it should respond." he explained, offering a meek smile.
It was really the best he could offer at the moment. The Nagamaki had taken on yet another new form for the moment. Despite the fact that he could change it's form, due to it's plant-like nature, he seemed to enjoy letting it choose it's own shape and form. Now it had become the staff he carried, a luminescent, fruit-like orb hanging from it's end. "Remember, they came to us because they felt we would have the best chance of controlling them for the greater good. You may not have the power now but you have more potential for it than anyone else out there." he reminded the male, shouldering his staff.

((Wow, my connection spazzed and I lost all that I had typed. Sucks...
Anyway. Modems should have a master password to them where you can go in and change the access stuff on them. I'm not sure, but I think you can remove the password completely that way. If you look up the modem online, you should have a page to go to where you can change the info on it.
Glad you got things all moved, though. I've made a vow after my last move that I'm going to move as little as possible for the rest of my life. Its a pain in the a**.))
Brayden was unaware of Kaya's inner dialogue as the two continue to walk. Ariadne may have been more in-tuned with her trainer's love's thoughts, but the Gardevoir had a mostly no-ask, no-tell policy (which in all honesty was a "I don't give a care until you bug me" attitude, but the other way sounds better on paper). So while the Gardevoir may have been able to sense Kaya's emotions, the empath was currently snoozing quietly in the back of Bray's mind. He could feel her stirring every once in a while, but other than that, she was offering no mental advice.
So when Kaya spoke, Brayden knew none the wiser, listening intently as Kaya explained his relationship with his own weapon. Bray nodded, the connection with the element made sense. Although he hadn't thought of that (and was really berating himself for it).
"Desire to protect the sea..." Bray murmured to himself. He'd have to try that. He saw Kaya kneel, whispering something to the flower, and after the exchange ended, although Brayden wasn't sure if he was just seeing things, the flower looked... happier?
"Well... while I agree that I have an affinity for water, I hardly consider myself the best choice for the buckler," Bray admitted with a slight shrug.
"I'm sure there's someone out there that would have an easier time. And not try to drown his friends with it."

Rem and Aoi could've pried into their master's thought but found such an act to be rather uncouth. So they simply lounged in their Pokeballs and acted all quiet and dignified, if an unseen creature can act dignified and it matter.
"Perhaps another could control it 'better' but not 'right'." Kaya pointed out. "A wise man once said 'With great power comes great responsibility'."he quoted, grinning. Looking up at the clouds, he could almost swear he saw something enormous and white flying through the clouds. But it disappeared from view as quickly as he'd seen it. Despite his thinking he must be seeing things, he looked to the ground and shook his head a bit. Looking back at the underbrush nearby for a brief moment, he caught a glimpse of several creatures that looked both familiar and completely foreign at the same time. They too were gone in the blink of an eye.
"Ugh...I must be losing my mind...." he muttered to himself. That green thing had looked curiously similar to Loki when he'd been a Treecko.
Once he'd cleared his head, he looked back to his husband and spoke once more. "Just because there might be someone better equipped doesn't mean they'd be better at using it. Mishaps will always happen but when it comes down to the wire, you're the one who will always use it's power for the right path."

Brayden listened to Kaya's explanation, considering it for a while. While his love's reasoning made sense, the water trainer was still a bit reluctant in accepting that he was really the best choice for the buckler. Although he had controlled its power briefly on Enkotsu, that had been with Kaya's help. It seemed Bray still had worlds to go before he would be able to invoke the Aqua Buckler's abilities unaided.
Guess that meant he had some practicing to do later on, he mused to himself, picking lightly at the hem of his shirt absently as he walked.
Lost in thoughts, he didn't notice the strange apparitions Kaya was struggling with. But he heard Kaya's mumble, although it was low, so Bray had to make an effort to hear it.
"What's wrong?" he asked, looking to the former prince, "You seem kind of out of it..."
At Kaya's comment about there not being anyone better to have the buckler, Brayden was a bit more reluctant to agree on. While he certainly had no desire to use the buckler for selfish purposes ...well except for the fact that the ability to breathe underwater had been something he'd been itching to try, albeit a bit scared to do so, since he had heard of the shield's abilities in Canalave.
But he wouldn't have any desire to use it for malevolent purposes. There, that was more truthful.
"If you say so..." Bray murmured, although his voice hardly showed conviction to the statement.

Kaya shook his head once more and sighed. "Maybe I'm just a bit homesick?" he questioned himself as he looked up at Brayden. "I could've sworn I just saw Pokemon that don't exist outside of Isshu." he informed the male. "I'll be fine once we get to the resort area. A nice comfortable room to sleep in and a good meal will do us both wonders, I'm sure." he assured.
"Don't let uncertainty get the better of you." the ex-prince encouraged. "I'm still not sure that I'm the best choice either, but I'm trying my best to do right by the Gods." he informed. "Reality is what we make of it, so if your reality is a fantasy, then make yourself the hero." he offered. It sounded corny, but maybe it was the truest advice anyone could give?

"Hm..." Brayden voiced, looking about their immediate area. While he spotted a rather suspicious looking bush (it seemed to be rustling ever so slightly in recoil from something that had scurried away moments before, Brayden's imagination was quick to fill in) he didn't spy anything that fit Kaya's description. But stranger things had happened, the water-inclined trainer was quick to note mentally.
"Who knows. Maybe with the negotiations with the region to open the league, some Pokemon from the region started popping up," Bray offered helpfully, "I mean, there's plenty of Pokemon that appear cross-region, so perhaps a few have taken up residence here. It makes sense. This island is isolated enough so that a few could live here without interference, or even discovery, from humans."
Aella was still trotting behind Brayden, keeping quiet for the most part. She discussed things amongst herself, which kept her occupied. The old saying "Two's company, but three's a crowd," hadn't seemed to apply to the Dodrio, but then again, she was far from the norm in the first place...
The faint sound of running water caught Brayden's attention, as he looked ahead. It wasn't within view, but it seemed as if there was a small stream or brook ahead.
"Well, think Tin's up for that promised bath?" Brayden grinned, pointing ahead, "I think there's some water up ahead. Maybe we can stop there for a bit before continuing on?"

Kaya nodded in easy agreement. Any reasoning for his assumed madness was better than none. "You're probably right."
His own ears picked up the sound of water flowing about the same time Bray did. "I'm certain he is. I bet that nasty stink is catching up to him by now." he laughed as he looked ahead.
Just as he thought he was done seeing crazy sights, a new one caught his eye. A Raticate rushed out of the bushes, shaking and flailing about in attempt to free itself from a tangle of flora. A large, blue and white flower seemed to be stuck to it's belly. A smaller, but still quite large flower of red and brown was seemingly glued to it's head. And a bright green vine was tangled about it's body, several leaves on its end that was hanging off the Raticate's tail. The frenzied rodent rushed at Kaya.

Brayden chuckled, casting a glance to the Elekid mostly-covered in gunk, "I'm sure he wouldn't mind getting cleaned up a bit either," the water trainer commented with a smirk.
Bray watched as the Raticate emerged, charging at Kaya. Bray frowned, spotting the flowers and other foliage tangled around the enraged rodent. That was odd.
He didn't have much time to contemplate at the moment, as a Numel broke through the underbrush on the opposite side. The small camel spotted Bray, before declaring its own charge, spitting a gout of flame at Bray.
Reva was out of her Pokeball before Bray had finished tossing the ball from his hand, the small Horsea bouncing on her tail, fins flapping angrily as she faced off against the Numel. She didn't particularly like the fact that the Numel was attacking Bray without a cause. She summoned a miniature wall of water to block the Numel's fireball, as the flames erupted into hissing steam, fizzling out before they got within range of Bray and Kaya.
Brayden scanned Reva's info on his Pokedex for a quick second. He was unfamiliar with the Horsea's attacks, having never battled with her before. He spotted one, smiled, then looked to the seahorse.
"Wanna try a Muddy Water?" he requested the small water type.
Reva leaped, spitting out a rush of water, aiming at the ground, propelling herself upwards. The water that struck the ground, mingled with the earth, before rising up in a muddy wave that crashed into the Numel.
Gotta love those four times weaknesses. The Numel sputtered, collapsing, unable to muster enough energy for a counterstrike. Reva landed, hopping once, before smiling brightly.
"Seaaa," she burbled happily, before returning to her Pokeball. While she could survive without water long enough, Bray didn't want to put her through any discomfort. He would call her back out again once they reached the stream.

Kaya jumped back, a bit startled by the Rodent's appearance. "Eep!" he threw the first Pokeball he could grab out into the area between himself and the Raticate, pleasantly surprised when Tin appeared from it.
The Elekid instantly erected a shimmering shield of light before himself, watching the Pokemon with careful eyes. Raticate glared at the slightly purple tinged Elekid, attempting to frighten the Pokemon.

Tin offered a glare to Raticate before winding up an electrified punch, delivering the lightning-charged punch with ease. Raticate bounced back a bit, shaking off the charged attack before it's fangs began to glow with a dark power. Rushing in, it bit down hard on Tin's young body.

Tin took his chance as Raticate heaved a heavy breath. Urging a current of Star-beams out, he summoned a Swift to blow the rodent away.

Brayden smiled faintly, watching as Tin evolved. The Elekid grew in size, now a grown Electabuzz.
"Congrats," he offered. The sight reminded him of his own Electabuzz, back in his PC, and Brayden frowned slightly. Ever since the incident in Celadon, he couldn't bear to have Ginji in his party any longer. It wasn't that he mistrusted the Electabuzz. He knew Ginji was a fun-loving and loyal companion. It was just the bad memories that surfaced each time he was near the electric type. He really did feel bad, as he knew his fears were quite unfounded. But he knew he had grown distant from the few electric types he had kept. It wasn't something he was proud of.
Seeing her trainer lost in thought, Aella yawned, sneezed, and chirruped (between her three respective heads), trotting ahead to the stream to grab a drink. She'd return when he was done feeling melodramatic, or needed her. Otherwise, she was going to relax a bit. The three-headed bird made her way to the water's edge, one head dipping down to take a drink as the other two kept lookout. Another plus to having three sets of eyes.
Bringing himself from his thoughts, Brayden watched as Aella meandered off to the stream. The water trainer decided to follow suit, offering a smile to Kaya as he turned, "That was a good battle. Tin really is getting stronger, huh?" he asked.
Brayden made his way to the water's edge, watching the stream for a moment, another small smile appearing. While it wasn't the most breathtaking thing he had ever seen (the hopeless romantic in him would declare that to be Kaya, with more than a few mental groans from Ariadne), it was a pretty stream. It was fairly small, bubbling over the rocks with a constant murmur.

Kaya couldn't help the giddy feeling in his gut. He could tell his strengths were growing, his talent as a trainer expanding with every Pokemon he raised. And Tin had been a challenge. He'd never actually raised an Electric type before, despite having caught several.
"You still stink, Tin. Even if you did evolve." he reminded the Electabuzz, who sparked in response.
"Ellleeeee!" the Pokemon meandered over to the small stream and hopped into the water, letting out a pleased sigh as the cool water filtered through his fur. Once he'd gotten used to the water's temperature, he proceeded to scrub himself clean.
Well trained and I never taught him that.... Kaya thought with a smirk. Maybe Mian playing daddy to him had been better than he'd first thought.
"He really is..." the man finally responded to Bray. A sudden pain shot through him, causing him to fall to his knees. "Gah! Ow!" he clutched at his heart for a moment before the pain finally stopped.
Rem's Pokeball opened and the Jirachi appeared before his trainer. "Oh dear....It seems The Gift of Shaymin has already had a chance to appear." the Pokemon voiced, lifting Kaya back to his feet. "Are you alright, master?"
Kaya groaned softly before he shook his head, feeling the last dregs of pain leave him. "Y-ya. I'm fine." He looked around for a moment before his eyes shot open. "Lance has done something! The world's balance is out of order...I...I can feel it. I think." Something deep down inside of him was telling him things were not as they should be. The world was in turmoil once again. Or maybe he was just being paranoid.
