Brayden finally entered the caves of Mt. Coronet's inner passages, munching on the remnants of his sandwich as he traveled. He could see the passage to the other side. It seemed that these caves weren't too wide from east to west, but Bryaden sure did know that this mountain range split the whole region in half. So it was fairly safe to assume that these mountains were wide north to south.
Making sure not to get turned around, Bryaden settled near the entrance to the caves. He opted for that decision so that he could still see when Kaya came, but still be near the rather interesting underground lake that was found near the cave's entrance.
"Hm... wonder if I can fish here, or do we need to go deeper..." Brayden mused, before deciding to give it a shot. The shores of the underground lake were too steep to stand on and fish, so Brayden called out Cye, asking for a bit of help from the Feraligatr, before hopping on his partner's back, as the two made their way across the water.
Brayden decided to try a random spot, since that seemed like a good idea as any. He fished his pole from his bag, before attempting to fish some fish from the lake.

Brayden felt a tug on his line after a bit of waiting. He smiled, "Alright," he grinned, reeling in the line. Cye watched lazily from the water's surface as Brayden reeled in his catch.
The Barboach flipped, flicking mud into the air as he flopped, breaking free from Brayden's line and facing the trainer, ready to fight.

"Alright, Sai, I'm relying on you for this one," Brayden called, as the Vaporeon slipped into the water before him to face off against the mudfish.
"Use a Aqua Tail," he called, hoping the Vaporeon would be able to use the right move this time. Sai seemed fine in the water however, as he dove gracefully, melding with the water until he vanished completely from view. A few spirals of water floated on the surface, separating in different directions, before converging around the Barboach.
The mudfish had a hard time locating Sai, who was all but invisible in the water, using Vaporeon's innate ability to change its dna to merge with the water around him. However, the Barboach solved that problem a moment later with a Mud Bomb, simply firing off random spurts of mud in every direction. It seemed one landed a blow, as Sai reappeared momentarily, stunned.
"You alright?" Brayden questioned Sai, who merely nodded, he would be fine. Brayden nodded, smiling to the Vaporeon, "Alright, now use Last Resort!" he called. Sai complied, slashing at the mudfish with his sharp fins, landing several blows before the Barboach could counter.
Brayden threw a Pokeball at the fish, watching as the Barboach was drawn inside.
A wild was hooked!

Brayden couldn't help but smile once again as the Pokeball pinged softly, bobbing on the surface of the water. Sai retrieved it, slipping through the water silently, although he was smiling. Brayden noted this. Perhaps Sai was comfortable battling when he was in the water? He'd have to examine that a bit more before coming to any conclusions.
Something caught his eye, however, as he was transporting his new Barboach to his PC. A flash of white out of the corner of his eye. Pausing for a moment, he was about to brush it off as nothing, but Cye stiffened slightly underneath him, and that was enough to show Brayden that perhaps he wasn't crazy after all.
"You saw something... right?" Brayden asked the Feraligatr beneath him, who nodded in response, growling slightly. He wasn't too trusting of anything that was sneaking around the caves...
Brayden paused for a moment, feeling something hit his head. It wasn't painful, more of a slight thump. Whatever it was bounced off and fell into the water. It took him a moment to realize what it was. A small plastic egg was floating beside him...
"Now that's just weird..." he murmured, scooping it up. It rattled slightly, which confounded him. He carefully opened it up (after making sure that no Delibird were found in the area on his Pokedex), half-expecting the thing to blow up in his face or something.
Instead, Brayden found a small candy, slightly soggy from the water, but still quite useable.
"A Rare Candy?" he questioned, not really believing his luck at the moment.
A rattle came from the far side of the lake, as Brayden and Cye went over to investigate, Sai following along behind quietly. They found yet another egg...
"What on earth?" Brayden questioned, finding another Rare Candy hidden inside.
This continued for a few more rounds, with Brayden tallying up a total of four candies in eggs. This was confusing him to no end, and he half-expected a trainer or one of his friends to jump out from behind one of the large rocks at any time to call the joke.
However, he was still seeing a flash of white out of the corner of his eye every now and then...

A moment later, Brayden found a Heart Scale lying on the ground. Now determined to find what was going on here, he sent Caliga out, motioning to her to find whatever it was that was doing this. The Umbreon slunk off into the shadows, as Brayden went the opposite direction.
He circled a rock, spotting the same flash of white as before. This time, however, Caliga was there. The Umbreon pounced.
Something squeaked in surprise, as Brayden rounded the corner, finally spotting what was going on.
"Is that... a Buneary?" Brayden questioned curiously, taking a closer look at the critter Caliga had pinned. Indeed it was a small rabbit, however, it was a snowy white color, something Brayden had never seen before in a Buneary.
Not only that, it was toting a basket? Now, that was strange indeed. Brayden motioned for Cali to let the struggling rabbit go, which the Umbreon did, albeit reluctantly. The Buneary gave an indignant "BUN!" before chucking another plastic egg at Brayden's face. Unfortunately there was no candy in this one, as it rattled off into the depths of the cavern.
"Geez, that's no way to behave," Brayden griped, rubbing his nose with the back of his hand as he shook his head.
"Just stop chucking stuff at me, kay?" he inquired to the rabbit, who merely blinked up at him, oblivious.
"Mmmmm, whatever," Brayden sighed, turning to leave, "Come on, Cali," he called, as the Umbreon trotted alongside him.
The Buneary started, surprised. How dare Brayden turn his back on her! The indignant rabbit, flung her ear out to strike the boy, but the buckler on his back flared suddenly with a brilliant blue light that filled the cavern.
This startled both Brayden, who hadn't seen either the attack or what was going on with the shield on his back, and the Buneary, who certainly hadn't expected a glowing human! Brayden jumped, bumping into the wall of the cavern, bag spilling to the floor as the buckler clanked to the ground, light dimming. A Pokeball rolled from the bag, bumping into the Buneary, who was drawn inside. Totally caught unaware, the small rabbit had no clue what to do, and the Pokeball pinged without an ounce of struggle.
"Oh Arceus," Brayden gawked, staring at the ball.
"I think I just captured the Easter Bunny..."

Once Brayden had let that sink in, he picked up the Pokeball a bit shakily. He had to admit, the Buneary was cute.
"I'll have to see about putting it in my party once I get some others in my group trained," he decided with a slight smile.
Brayden hopped back on Cye, heading back out over the underground lake to resume his fishing. He was hoping to catch a Feebas. Then he could meet back up with Kaya. Bray had to admit, he already missed the prince's company.

"Alright, this is the one we've been waiting to catch," Brayden grinned. He called Gin'iro to the bank.
"Use an Energy Ball on this one!" he called, as the fox nodded, releasing an orb of energy at the Feebas, who weakly flopped back to Tackle Gin. Brayden tossed a Pokeball at the fish as soon as he got a clear throw. He watched as the Feebas was drawn inside, bobbing on the surface of the water for a moment before pinging softly.
"Thanks, Gin!" Brayden grinned, recalling the fox before having Cye retrieve the Pokeball.
"That's really the only thing I had planned to do in here, what do you say we do a bit of exploring or something until Kaya gets back?" he asked the Feraligatr once the two reached the shore of the lake once more.
