I'm not as big on manga as I am on Marvel Comics (though I have quite a collection of Ruroni Kenshin ... with more to come). I'm currently draining my checking account by collecting the entire Mystique series. Such a good spy comic. whee

I think Manga should be allowed, because it is a form of book...

I don't get to use them very often... it seemed appropriate. xd

Fairgrass What kind of manga do you read? I read loads of manga sweatdrop partly because I'm half-japanese I read them in japanese so there will be some that aren't in the USA I read: Eyeshield21 Death Note b*****d Rurouni Kenshin Bleach Naruto Angel Sanctuary YuYuHakusho Yami no Matsuei Blade of the immortal Basilisk ....and many more xp I think Manga should be defined as a category of books because it's true that they are similar to comics but some have really deep messages confused Some Manga are the combined work of a novelist and mangaka (the person who draws them)

I definitely think that manga count as books, and yes, they are also called graphic novels, but that is just bookstores etc being politically correct. It also makes them sound more educational. But technically, they are called manga. They count because books have: words, pages, authors, plot lines, editors, publishers, all that stuff- and manga books do have those things. It may be a bit late for me to point this out (its kind of late and I'm in a hurry, so I didn't read the whole discussion), but I think its important for (what I consider to be) a hard-core manga fan to point this stuff out. Anyway, I really feel that manga books are better than comic books, and have 10x the plot line of a comic book (then again, I don't read comic books and may or may not know what I'm talking about, so don't get offended or anything).
Wow... that was far too serious to have been written at 10PM... I should go to bed so I can work on reading Inkspell some more. Hope that helped clear things up a bit... Yeah... I think I'll just shut up now... Bye.

Well...I read a lot of manga, but my favorite of my collection are:
KARE: First Love Immortal Rain Hana-Kimi Fruits Basket Legal Drug Wallflower Samurai Deeper: Kyo Imadoki and Paradise Kiss (I have more, these are at the top of my list though... sweatdrop )
YuYu Hakusho is better as an anime, and so is Naruto. 3nodding

Nintendonick4 I think that technically, they shouldn't be allowed, but I really don't have a problem. I'm just afraid that people will focus mainly on manga instead of real books. I completely agree.

Sir Ichigo A book is a book is a book. Many people argue that they shouldn't be considered books because almost all of the text is dialogue and it's mostly pictures. What about plays with pictures? A book is a book is a book. I agree 3nodding

I've been checking my favorite online anime stores and seen that Earthian has been released. I'll be collecting that series since I adored the anime! ^_^ Also updating my Angel Sanctuary volumes might distract me from pining to have the next graphic novel of Yu Yu Hakusho... so very far away.
