It's the person who's spelling it's choice, they can spell magick how ever they feel is right.

The truly correct, gramatically and in terms of the English language, is MAGIC. Chaoticpuppet correctly relays where the "k' came from. I spell it properly, but I would not be against a mass movement to change the spelling to a K on the end for the following reason: research. It becomes a real pain to try to look for things related to magical practices unless it has a different spelling to set it aside from fanatsy magic (like in D&D and card games) AND stage magic. I've had trouble researching basic magic because of the spelling issue, and if everybody spelt it with a K, it would make google searches or database searches much easier.

the K was added by Crowley to show the difference in sex magic and regular magic. The K has to do with the latin word for sex. Personally I think misspelling magic with a K is stupid or with any other added letters.

I personally like the spelling of Magick, but I've seen it spelled a variety of ways.

I mean, the sort of thing from ages long past... The sort of stuff most people merely think of as A fanciful idea and myth, and nothing more? Perhaps the current idea of magic should be spelled the incorrect way, and the new one even more unusual, like say majyck or something...

I have found that people like to differ the meanings of magic, like magic is the bunny in the top hat and then magick is actual well magic....but to me it's all the same word, if i spell it magic i think it's real and if i spell it magick i think it's real soooo. lol magick spelt this way just looks more "old" i guess...
