I can understand why people don't like war, but I don't understand why so many want to leave the war before its over.

Surely the question should be whats to gain from staying?

1. I don't like war, but I'm weary of what would happen if we brought the troops home now. You can't just take them out of there. You have to wait for things to stop.

2. I am pro-choice, definately. If the baby isn't born yet, it can't think yet, it's not really alive yet. Besides, if young girls are having to give birth, that can destroy them. If you don't want an abortion, you don't have to get one.

3. I'm really undecided on the whole Capital Punishment issue. I guess it depends what they did.

4. Legalize marijuana, PLEASE. A. It really can't hurt you and B. We need to quit focusing on something that trivial and get the REAL criminals.

5. Illegal immigration? I'm not really sure. They can't just come to this country and literally take someone's job and they currently are working, but if there's open jobs that they can do, then they can do them.

6. Gay marriage? I just hate marriage. But we all SHOULD be able to get married, you know. Even though I really think you don't need a legal document and extravagant ceremony to show commitment.

7. ******** CENSORSHIP UNTIL IT BLEEDS OUT ITS a**. Anyone who is pro-censorship needs to read Fahrenheit 451. You can't censor art. And this whole "political correctness" PISSES ME OFF. I can see punishing for hate crimes, 'cause they are CRIMES. But you can make whatever jokes you want. If people take offense to that, they take things too seriously. Besides, if you stand next to someone and say "STAB" they might get a little miffed because you're basically saying you want to kill them (or just implying it) but it doesn't have anywhere NEAR the same affect than if you actually pull out a knife and actually stab them. Does that make sense? Actions speak far louder than words. Comedy isn't meant for fart jokes either. Racial/political/religious jokes are always the funniest, are they not?

marrying pets and cars?? i kno people that are so close to those things, its almost like they are married! what difference would it make? [im not saying that i necessarily support this, but maybe im missing something]

1. I know I don't know everything about this issue but to me it just seems like being there is a waste of everyone's time.
The people don't want us there, we don't seem to be doing anything effective, all that's really happening is just that a lot of people from both sides are getting blown up.
I'm not even entirely sure why we're there in the first place.

The planet is over-populated as it is, the very last thing we need are more babies coming into this world if they're not even wanted! It's already hard enough on society to deal with all the stupid teenage parents popping out kids like gumball machines.

3. No way. I despise capital punishment. No one deserves that, I believe.
In any case, if society descends to that level, how the hell can we say we're any better than the people we're beating the living crap out of?

4. I don't actually believe in legalising cannabis... To be honest I'm not sure.
Because I believe people shouldn't smoke normal ciggerettes, so how can I support the legalisation of other drugs?
I know that cannabis isn't as harmful as tobacco, but I think you're wrong when it says it doesn't harm you at all. It had been proved that smoking weed can lead people on to harder drugs, and it's not like it doesn't still give you cancer. -.-

5. I don't think immigrants come into this country and LITERALLY take away jobs that other people are already doing.. O.o At least, I wouldn't think so.
I mean.. it's the companys that are employing these immigrants in the first place, because they know that local people wouldn't take the long hours and low pay that desperate people would. And then the local people complain that immigrants are stealing their jobs... Well dude, if some guy is gonna work for less money than you and still get the job done, it's no bloody wonder you didn't get it mate!

7. I actually really agree with that too.
You'd think I'd be all for political correctness and at first I was, but when you try and FORCE people to be nice and treat everyone equally when they're not ready to, all it's gonna do is make people even more likely to want to rebel against the system. And even worse, they end up blaming the minority groups for the fact that they have to freedom of speech.
The thing that was made to protect us is making us ever more of a target.

I am neither republican or democratic, I think both of them have far too much of an extreme and we need something that combines both ideas, which might mean utter chaos, but I know there are enough people with brains out there who can actually do something about it.

War...Well in the beginning I was for it. I thought it was going to be "getting Osama" kind of thing, but man was I wrong, but I was young then too. My step father has been in the war twice and I've had many other family members go over too and get injured. I think the thing that they would want to see is this all end. Yeah, I guess the dead would have died in vain, but then why don't we stop more [of our] people from dying. We are there because all those other groups are trying to take over and the one thing they can agree on is getting the United States out. Hell, I say we just divide Iraq into three sections and be done with it..just kidding. I just think now it's getting to a point where the war is no longer needed. So many more people hate us now, and we are slowly losing allies. We have our own country to worry about, our own government to better establish. I'm sorry, but it's damn near impossible to just start something up from the ground when people won't cooperate. Yes, I know the regular [poor] citizens want to, but it's the 'higher ups' that won't and they will eventually persuay the country into doing something different hense creating another war.

I don't believe in abortion, except in cases of rape and to save the mother's life. If you don't want a child, it's as easy as using protection, OR don't have sex!

Ehh, I was against capitol punishment at first, but now I'm more undecided. If they killed and meant it, that usually means they will be put to death themselves and hey, it clears up our prisons, we would be spending less money, and they get what they deserve. But then it's like, they are humans too, and it's not exactly right to fix something by killing another, so I'm torn. confused

If you are going to ban drugs like marijuana, why not ban just regular smoking too?! I really don't understand the point of smoking tobacco, you are hurting the others around you as well as yourself and it just makes no sense to pay money to slowly be killed. Marijuana is more of a social thing, but I would want it kept that way. I wouldn't want to see people out walking around smoking like they do with tobacco now. I had done a report on the prison system at school, but I had it focused on lifting the marijuana laws and start catching people who actually have DONE something. I'd rather live next to a druggie than a rapist or killer. I think police officers are slacking because they know they can raid certian people's houses and find drugs, and that's the easy part. Everyone is in it for the easy way out. It is easier to find a druggie than a killer/rapist.

Ah illegal immigration. Well I guess they really shouldn't be here unless they were going to actually go through all the proper citizenship stuff, but not even an average American can pass those tests! I do agree that in the south, they are really running our economics, and for only a few dollars a day, wow that's pretty awesome, but they are regular people too, and I think they deserve what everyone else gets paid too, BUT they need to get an actual citizenship! Think of what they are running from though, anywhere. They are running from poverty, death, whatever and they are in search of this "American Dream". I wish there was something else we could do about it though.

I agree with Rainbows on this one definantly. Let people be gay, and have some sort of union, but don't call it a marriage. It's just your sexual preference really, and why should anyone have a say what you do behind closed doors? And if you really love each other that much enough to get some form of union, let them, I'm happy for them.

Then, is there really anyone FOR censorship? I want to know the truth, I don't want to see it covered up in lies, like we can pretend it never happened, or let's just avoid it all together. The world is full of misery and poverty in a lot of places, so let's let everyone see that! Let's get more people do want to do something! I don't understand why I have to LOOK to find out that there are many people doing a lot worse than in America. Yes, we do have poverty and everything in America too, but then America needs to do something about it. In this country, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, our middle-class is going to be dissolved, quickly! And it's the middle-class who are truly working for this country, the poor can't do much without help and the rich, HA I'd love to see Tom Cruise go out and actually get a REAL job, or any of them for that matter. Yes it's nice to be paid all of this money, but it just sits there when there are so many needy people! All the celebrities do are sit on their piles of money laughing at the news and how much more lucky they are.

That just brings me to another point. If anything should be censored, censor celebrity gossip. DO I REALLY CARE WHO IS DATING WHO?!?! Should America really care who is dating who? OR "Oh my god *so-in-so* is GAY!" I tell everyone I will be shocked to see the first magazine cover with the words "He's straight!!!" America is not run on other people successes, but run on the envy they have of those successes. I'm tired of watching the local news to find out about Anna Nicole Smith. She's dead...what else is there do we need to know?! That is taking up news time for more important things. This just frustrates me the most! I don't even know how to go on. I'm just tired of hearing about America's Precious Celbrities!

When I turn 18 very soon, I'll be voting for anything I can, it's important to actually have a voice in a small way. The young generation always complains that the poliiticians won't pay attention to them, whatever. Well then prove them wrong, get out and vote! I can't stand it when people don't vote, because truly then the officals aren't being picked by The People, but SOME People.
