Eh? You start with zero MP and gain one at the beginning of every turn (i.e. you can still cast but have no MP stored). Also, you can attack in addition to casting.
Anyway, the goblins aren't going to anything this fancy, one will attack each of you, adding their combat dice to their damage. For expediency, I'll roll 1d4 four times, with a 4 being counted as a 2. The rolls will be for damage against, in order, Paul, Nephira, Bellamin, and nukunuku.
Attacking Paul: 1 damage Attacking Nephira: 3 damage Attacking Bellamin: 1 damage Attacking nukunuku: 3 damage

Bellamin recoiled from the cut, he quickly jumped back as a precaution. And in one fluid motion, he drew his b*****d sword and lunged at the goblin who struck him. "Damn you..." He breathed ((Ap-1 ((Mp-1)) ((life-19/20)) ((just keeping track)) ((edited again for more rp finess))

{Oh... *feels retarded* XP Sorry then. sweatdrop *goes back and edits post*}
Nephira growled as she felt something cut into her arm. One of the little goblins weapons no doubt. She gripped her dagger slightly tighter and lashed out at the goblin before it could get too far away, using the direction she had felt the hit come from and the slight brush of air that retreating quickly often created, if one was not careful.

*checks, and notices that nuku can take out two goblins without using damage, Bella can take out one, and Paul can take out the last one*
Well... Hmmmm... My tactical recommendation would be for everyone to put their combat dice towards damage reduction...
Anyway, I'm just getting a feel for the way weaker and more powerful characters deal damage to one another; I don't want to take you guys down to half life on the first fight. smile

Eh, what? I rolled the damage for the goblins. The damage I posted is the damage you'll take if you don't use your dice to reduce it.

Okay, round one is done. It seems we had a bit of confusion with the way the battling works, but hopefully we've worked those kinks out and we'll get the combat dice right in the next combat.
Bella kills his goblin patroller no matter what he rolls, nukunuku kills both of her goblins, and Nephira takes down her goblin without the aid of her magic. Paul is much too busy staring at the cave wall and is snapped back to reality by a goblin clawing at his arm before being thwacked in the head and taken down.
Though the battle was short, you're certain that somebody heard the battle cries. You can go forward, go back where you came from, or examine a small nook in the cave wall that appears to be being used as a sort of closet, though you cannot see what is in it.

"Where to now?" Bellamin murmured as he kneeled beside the dead body. He pointed to a nook in the side of the cave. "How 'bout that?" He asked as he sheathed his b*****d blade. ((Whao, where ish every1?))

Nephira tilted her head slightly to the left. Should they move forward, and possibly into the grip of even more goblins, or go back and try the other path? She puzzled over this until the talk of the others caught her attention. "Door?" She asked, not able to see what they were talking about. But doors often meant something meant to stay hidden, and if this was something goblins made, that often meant treasure... "I say we open it." She said with a grin.

Inside the closet, you find the rotting corpse of some hapless human. A quick visual examination of him indicates that he's been stripped of any useful gear, but there is a rolled up piece of paper sticking out of one of his pockets that turns out to be an illustration of some magical item: it seems to be a gauntlet with a star gem embedded on the back of the hand.
The gauntlet is named Lergneth's Gauntlet, and apparently gives the wielder the ability to control undead, and the gem is the Star of the Brink, which gives its holder the ability to raise undead from bodies. When the two are placed together, as in the picture, the notes on the paper indicate that the artifact is known as Ever's Hand, and gives not only the abilities of the two component artifacts but also grants the ability to manifest spirits and drain the energy of the living, healing the user, hurting the user's enemy, or forming wraiths.
Before having time to contemplate why someone would expect to find such an artifact here, you hear sounds behind you. It seems that a trio of Goblin Warriors and a pair of Goblin War Dogs have been alerted to your presence by the goblins you just dispatched and have moved in to attack you.
