Bahvanta I know just how you feel I hope it gets better really soon It winds me up not being able to work myself to my limit... it leaves me with an enormous sense of disatisfaction I like coming out of training nakered and worked...I like doing all 2 or 3 lessons every training night but recently only been able too do one or 2max and im so stressd aswell it leaves my mental attiude crap and ugh... hope ur ok Exactly; I guess it could be outside stress. My dad's always telling me that ninjutsu is bad for me and I should just look at it as a form of exercise. Having zero support from my father combined with the fact that I have tons of homework and my favorite sensei teaches at a different branch probably is a major part of it.

Why would he say that it's bad for you and you should see it as a form of exercise?

What you've got to remember when you are training is that you must allow yourself rest days for your mind and body to heal. Always give yourself chill out time even if it's just 30 minutes quiet time in a day reading a book or listening to your favourate music.
*Edits* Make sure you're getting enough sleep and and that you are eating enough food and that you are drinking at least 2 litres of water a day (even more than that if you have trained).

Delmar_Denban Why would he say that it's bad for you and you should see it as a form of exercise? Well, he thinks it's dangerous and that I could get killed. Also, he doesn't like the fact that I have a hobby other than studying and obsessing about getting into Harvard or Yale. He thinks I concentrate too much on martial arts and that it's affecting my studies. Always give yourself chill out time even if it's just 30 minutes quiet time in a day reading a book or listening to your favourate music. I'm pretty sure I give myself enough of that; I procrastinate way too much. Also, I read for at least 30 minutes before going to sleep each night. Haha, I sometimes don't get enough sleep on weekdays, but I make up for it on weekends. =P I think I eat enough; I don't have a lunch period in school so I usually just come back and eat a small snack at 3-4 pm, then have a moderately large dinner. =P I don't drink a lot of water but I drink plenty of milk. 3nodding

I am competing in an international open tournament in the spring.. maybe two if the first goes well. Unfortunately, it's not the type of tournament that'd be widely accepted on this forum =\ Im just doing the "Extreme kicks contest" and possibly a doubles forms. *sigh* Itll be a start while Im still training for better and more useful things.

Where is this tournament? I'm actually just interested in taking a look around and I might drop by if it is local. (Hey, international might mean alot of things)

Yeah, I know I'm not a member yet, and this is a little off topic. But...I have a question for reim.
I read (somewhere) that you've been doing shotokan karate for ....a decade almost? or more? I don't remember. Anyway, the point is, I was wondering if you went to the nationals in Moncton this year? I don't know why I'm asking, it's not like I went. I planned on it, but after learning what was involved in preperation for it...well, I wanted to, but I wasn't able to commit to it. Too many other things going on at the time. Anyway I was just wondering if you went. If so, how did you do?

My dojo was invited or soemthing, Im not to sure, we'll see if I choose to go to nationals this year. Btw, the tournies dont have the divisions Id want to compete in, plus most of the other divisions are pretty scarce (right word?)
