She nodded in agreement, and supressed another giggle as she watched him stare at the patch of charred grass. It was funny, seeing others reactions to her hooves. If only he could meet her sister Ember... why, she had fire for HAIR!
"Alright," she said, taking in as deep of a breath as she could while running, "On the count of three..... one.... two..... THREE!"
And with her final words she pressed down against the ground and used as much force as she could to leap up, first with her front hooves, and then her back ones, to sail into the air. She held her breath... would she make it, or would she stumble?

Kiefer grinned, and on the count of three, threw his weight forward and sailed into the air alongside Kindle. She wasn't as bad as she claimed to be! He was a bit faster though, and pulled in frount slightly.
His feet hit the ground with the force that he was used too, a bit shocking, but not completely unpleasant. He stumbled forward a bit, not doing a perfect landing, but still managing to stay up. He flicked his tail in delight, then looked back to see how his friend had done.

Her eyes left the ground in front of her to watch the colt fly through the air and land on the ground with ease, and she prepared herself for the landing. Her hooves hit the ground harder than she had expected they would, and her front knees buckled underneath her as her back hooves landed on the ground. It seemed her front legs didn't understand that they needed to move forward and continue running, instead of stopping and waiting on the back legs to catch up.
She let out a wail as she quickly flew off balance and landed face first into the not-as-soft-as-it-seemed grass. What a loser she was! She couldn't even do a normal jump! What would Kiefer think of her now?
Still lying in the grass, she let out a small sniffle, the pain in her jaw aching from the fall. Why couldn't she be a good jumper?

Kiefer turned back to watch Kindle's wrecked. Fell...right on her face! He sympathised with her... he had fallen on his face more times then he wanted to remember. Jumpiing was serious bussiness! He trotted over to her, looting down at the poor filly.
"Are you OK?" he asked, nudging her shoulder slightly. "Next time, land on one foot, then the other, but do it fast. That way even if you fall, you probubly won't fall forward like that" he suggested, sympathising for the grass that she was currently burning up.
"Maybe we should do something else for a bit?" he suggested, looking around. It seemed when ever Kiefer was with another foal, he had loads of fun, so he always we looking to play with them, even if they couldn't jump as well as he could. Plus...she had such cool hooves!

Kindle drew in a long breath, trying to keep the tears from exposing themselves. That fall hurt, but she was trying her best to shrug it off and act like nothing happened.
"Y-yeah, I'm o-okay..." she stammered, attempting to raise herself up from the ground. Her jaw and throat were sore; she hoped they weren't bleeding because if they were, she was sure in for a lecture from Daddy.
"I just... I got some grass in my eye," she mumbled, lowering her head to wipe away an offending tear with one leg. It was hard, trying to be grown up when things happened to make you feel so foalish. "And yeah.. I think we should do somethin' else now... what did ya have in mind, Kiefer?" Kindle asked, turning to her friend, in hopes of a quick distraction from her fall.

He looked at her as she got up, some obvious bumps and bruisese, dirty, but she certainly didn't look like she got too hurt, visably, at the very least. Sometimes injuries wern't visable, though.
"That's good!" said kiefer, happy that he didn't have to deal with an injured foal, particularly since it probubly would have been mostly his fault. Plus, he probubly wouldn't be able to make many friends if every time he met another foal, it ended up getting hurt.
"Oh, ok.." he said, choosing to ignore her tears. Kiefer was well aquainted with crying girls...his sister, Abattie, was very sensative...and often ended up sobbing over something or other. "Want to.. umm" he looked up into the sky, trying to pinpoint exactly what he wanted to do. "I don't know...what are you good at?"

She giggled at his question, and playfully rolled her eyes. "Burning things, duuuh!"
She stretched one hoof out to show Kiefer her growing talent of being able to control the flame. A little spark popped out from the flames and fell down into the grass, starting a little fire. Soon enough, however, Kindle stepped on it with her hoof, and the fire ceased to be.
"I can set pretty much anything on fire, but Momma says I don't need to be playin' like that. I don't see how much trouble that could cause though... do you?"

"Oh yea.." said Kiefer, not really sure how much fun he himself could have burning things, but he would give it a try. He watched the little spark fly up, and saw the little fire burn, not entirly dissimilar to the fire the burned on Kindle's hooves.
"Well, I don't think a lil fire can do to much trouble" he said with a grin, watching as the fire was out, but had clearly destroyed the blades of grass that it was with. It was an interesting feeling, to know you were destroying things. Not entirly bad though, just...new.

"Maybe not a 'lil fire, but even a 'lil one can grow to be a great BIG one," she huffed, taking a slight bit of personal offense at the comment. Her own flames were quite little still, compared to her mother and the other Nightmares' flaming hair and hooves, and she tried every day to make her own grow bigger and brighter. She knew she'd accomplish it one day... but for now, kept trying to improve her little sparks and wisps of flames.
"But, of course, I don't burn a whole lot of stuff at once... that would get me into lots of trouble," she nodded solemnly, glancing towards the direction from where Keifer came from. "Where do ya live, anyhow? I didn't know any foals lived nearby. That's kind of cool, if ya think about it, Kiefer!"

"Oh...but it would be so...cool!" he said, wondering how dazzling a gigantic fire would be. Even the small ones were so interesting...wouldn't a big one be just as fun?
"Why?" he asked, clearly not understanding how much destruction fire could bring. To him it didn't seem so bad...singed things...looked cool....smelt funny, but not enturly unpleasent. What could be so bad about it?
"I live...errr.." where did he live? There was no way to say exactly, it was more of an area. "I live around here with my mama, papa, and two sisters" he said happily. After all, family was where home was, and if your family wasn't there, how could it be your home?

"Fires are awesome, but only if you do them right." She said matter-of-factly, as she nodded her head. "It takes only a little bit of trying, but even the smallest of sparks can burn into big 'ol blazes!"
Prancing around, she circled Keifer as she attempted to let out some of her seemingly endless energy. "But the problem with fire is how it's gotta be put out. Fires are cool... but if you don't stomp 'em out before they get too big, there's no way to stop them from burning down EVERYTHING!"
Her eyes grew wide, a mental image of the forest and fields she so dearly loved going up in smoke. Why, her parents would DISOWN her if she pulled a stunt like that.
Kindle's head tilted to one side in curiousity as the colt explained his living situation. "Ya don't live in a cave?" She asked, puzzled. Didn't everyone live in a cave? "Caves protect ya from the rain and storms. Keeps ya warm and dry, like a fire does."

Kiefer had a bit of trouble understanding that a little foal's action could cause so much trouble. In his world, he could do whatever he wanted. There might be consiqueces from his parents, but as far as him affecting something permanently...well, that was tough to understand.
"Wow...Guess that would be...Bad" he mumbled, feeling a bit stupid for suggesting an idea that certainly was horrible. And the fact thats Kindle was a LOT more knowlageable about that then he was. Then again, she had the stuff coming right out of her hooves!
"Ummm. We go into caves when the weather is bad, but we don't really have a permentent space" he said, wondering if he was really weird for not having a house like that. Did everyone?

"Yeah, it would be bad..." she echoed, noticing his embarrassed expression and feeling guilty. "But it was an awesome idea, Kiefer!" she added, nodding her head as she grinned. "I just wish that there could be a way for us to do it and be able to handle the flames, ya know?"
Tromping around, she came to a halt, her face only inches from his. "Waah? Only from the rain? What if a wild lion came to gobble ya up in the middle of the night? A field's no place to be sleepin'!"

"Oh...yea: he said, trying to feel a bit better about it. Sometimes he just got carried away with ideas and didn't understand why they were bad ideas until it was over and done with.
"Well papa has a lion of his own, named Bae. If another wild lion came, I guess he would protect us or something" he shrugged "I never really worried about that" he made a mental note not to mention this to his sisters, he didn't want to scare them. Then again, they had mama and papa to protect them, and Kiefer himself would protect them over anything, so there wouldn't be a problum.

"A lion as a friend?!" Kindle's eyes bugged out. How was it possible for a lion to be friends with a horse? "That's aweeeesome!"
She ignored the jealous feelings attempting to overcome her, and gave a shrug. "My dad knows a ferret that looks just like him... I guess that's kind of cool... I guess..."
As if he had heard his title mentioned, a familiar voice called her name out, and Kindle felt her ears flatten at the harshness her name was called in. Boy, was she in for it!
"I've got to go, Kiefer, but it was nice meetin' ya! Hope ta see ya again soon!" She hollered out at the colt as she made her way back home to her cave. It was neat to make a new friend, and she truly hoped she could get to meet him again soon.
((If you want to respond to this post as a foal, I'll do the transition one afterwards :3 ))
