As he had hoped, Sungura had found shelter not too far from the two hares. Where the small amount of shrubery could be a hideout for a small amount of time, the small burrow nearby would be perfect to keep them safe until the serval became bored of them. Under the hot African sun, the burrow would provide shade and a moist place to relax after a long day of running.
Having heard the small amount of padding from his friend nearing behind him, the male rabbit didn't even have to glance behind. Once the two had reached the burrow, Sungura hopped inside and looked around. It was wide enough for him to fit inside and went down somewhat far. By sheer luck, it appeared uninhabited.
Releasing a deep sigh, the rabbit looked out and tried to make room for Cheshi.

Cheshi followed the sound of Sungura's thumping feet ahead of her, and once visibility improved she saw just enough of him to catch sight of him darting into a burrow. The little hare wasn't sure that the serval was gone, but she didn't dare to look back. She dove for the burrow, and went right to Sungura and clung to him.
"I-is it safe here?" she whimpered, trying to stay away from the entrance but also trying to tell if it was unoccupied and scent free.

Sungura nodded and grabbed ahold of Cheshi's paw to pull her inside. He understood that she wanted to be certain that the burrow was empty and a secure place to hide, but if she remained outside the opening, she would certainly draw more attention to themselves.
Once she was inside, Sungura offered her a hug and then looked around. The burrow extended into a tunnel and the dirt prooved to be just right for digging more. "I think we can stay here for the night and if he's not gone by morning, we can dig farther down and find a way out of here.."

Cheshi trusted Sungura, and allowed herself to be pulled into the burrow- taking that gesture to be the reassurance that it was actually safe for them and otherwise unoccupied. She didn't respond when he spoke, but gladly clung onto him. They were safe, the that's what was the most important.
