I never blamed the tabloids though. Their job is too attract attention no matter what the cost, and they had some stuff on freddie to use. It is horrible that people would even do that to him, but to those reporters, they were just doing their jobs(and I hope it pays off in HELL!!!!)

i just recently went to a film festival in my town where they showed a documentary on freddie's life. i was already a huge fan, and of course i was sad that he had died, but it wasn't until they discussed his death in this film that i really felt the impact. they talked about how his sickness affected him in his final days. i got quite emotional, which doesn't happen to me all that often during movies.
but then afterwards, as part of the festival, they had a q&a with a special guest, who in this case was rudi dolezal, the director and a personal friend of freddie and the band back in the day. somewhere along the way he mentioned that freddie would not want people to grieve over his death, but rather celebrate his life. this really affected me. it made me think what the world would have been like if freddie mercury had never lived in the first place. if i had been old enough to remember when he died, i'm sure i would be heartbroken, but we really should be celebrating that such an influential and charismatic human being existed on this planet, even if his time here was cut short.

Let's see...
When he died, I was still a developing fetus, so I believe that constitutes as being "too young to remember."
----------
I would cry my eyes out. I'd lock myself in my room, play his and Queen's songs (mainly Winter's Tale, New Age Ambiance, Bohemian Rhapsody, Nevermore, How Can I Go On (With Caballe), Guide Me Home (with Caballe as well), among others), and I wouldn't eat for days.
And once I was done with that...I'd use up all my college money to fly over to England and gather with other Queen fans infront of his Kensington house to mourn.
In other words...I'd need prozac.

I would probably deal with it the same way I will when that unfortunate day comes when Bri, Rog, or Deaky die;
I will call in sick to work. I'll be crying, so I'll use the sniffling as an excuse.
I will take as much money out of my bank account as possible without closing it out and rush my a** to wherever the hoards of Queen fans are mourning. Same will happen if one of them gets very seriously injured, ever. If going in person wasn't an option, I'd be playing Queen music all day and all night.

You know, I've always said I was going to adopt no matter what, but I'd make an exception in this case! XD

I wouldn't cry, as I would deem it unnecesary. I didn't feel anything when my great grandmothers died 6 months apart this past year. It's not foremost in my mind when I listen to music or watch movies if that person is alive-- and it honestly doesn't matter. I've seen more movies with dead actors/actresses than I have with live ones. I've listened to more music done by dead artists than I have live ones. Yet, when you listen to something of theirs, they aren't really dead. They're forever recorded on celluloid and records.
As I said before, it wouldn't effect me-- just as the deaths of the other three won't effect me. I'm cold like that.

Aww. sad
Queen has made such an impact on my life, I feel like I know them personally, so it will feel like losing a reletive or something... Besides, I am an overly emotional creature by nature anyway... I mean, I cried like the world was going to end when I found out my two fish died, so... yeah... sweatdrop Oh well. I can understand your point of view though...

Personally, I would be sad, shed a tear or two, because they're people you admire and look up to. Yet at the same time, there's no point in dwelling on it because... well, life moves on. You can't be upset at the loss of a hero or idol, because they've only contributed so much to your life. Yes, I'm sad, but I'd rather listen to their music and know that they've simply reached their time to go, they'll live forever anyway.
Freddie died in 1991, yet people are still talking about him non-stop, as if he were alive and well still.

I think I would feel bad about it, but I don't know if I would necessarily go into a state of depression over it or anything. Then again, when Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd died a year ago, I took it a whole lot harder than I would have expected. So, maybe if Freddie or one of the members of Queen was to die right now, I would be really sad about it. I guess it's one of those things you just don't know about until it happens.

I may seem like a p***k, but I don't see what there is to be crying about. It doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know. All it happens to be is the "Cause of Death" report.
