"OW!" Wacheza cried, trying to pull away from his brother, which only made the crab tighten it's grip on his ear and cause the new hole there to start to bleed, "Ow... ow... Tau this really hurts!" The small cub moaned, now very much afraid of the little thing on his ear.
"Tau please get it off!" Wacheza sobbed, inevitably and accidentally moving back into the waves, "Please...please! I want it to let go!" He repeated again and again as he tried to shake off the crab, but it just tightened it's grip, and while Tau held on, it started to rip at the cub's ear as his brother tried to pull it off.

At first Tau didn’t know what to do! The crab had gotten a hold of his brother’s ear so tightly that he feared trying to pull the crab off would result in his brother losing an ear! Tau didn’t want that! With a soft bite he pushed his tiny fangs into the crab and jerked slowly, as if trying to warn than crab off of his brother. He would kill the crab if he went any harder with his pulling and bites but at this point he wouldn’t care. His brother was in pain!

The crab seemed to get the message because it began to loosen it's grip on Wacheza's ear and allow Tau to pull it off, leaving only small marks on the cub's ear. Wacheza looked relieved and finally stopped moving back, eyes wide from suprise that he had been attacked by something so small.
"Tau..." He tackled his brother into shallow water with a love-hug-body-smash movement, "Thank you! You protected me! I was so scared that it was going to rip my ear off! I was so scared!" This was one of Wacheza's more emotional moments. He had, after all, never been attacked or injured by anything before, so the only pain he was used to was the playful kind of scrapes or bruises he got from his siblings. He had never felt so threatened before.

“Hey! Don’t get all sappy on me now!”
Tau laughed slightly as he was pushed back into the water. He was glad to see that his brother was safe again and happy but he didn’t want this to turn into a tear fest- Nope. Tau didn’t like to think with his emotions. He really… just wanted to have a good time!
His ears perked as he pulled himself back to his paws and rolled out of the waters. He didn’t want to get wet anymore and he didn’t want to risk another crab attack; with a soft smile he rolled onto his side and wiggled in the moist sand before clawing away from the waters edge. He didn’t stop until he felt his fur graze against the dry sand; he knew he was safe then.
He didn’t mind being messy, in fact he liked the feel of sand on against his skin. It was such an odd feeling and Tau liked odd. He was odd some times. His eyes narrowed as he sighed and rolled onto his back, gazing up at the skies above. He was a little cold due to being wet before but the winds would help dry him soon.
Everything seemed perfect and on top of that... defeated a crab AND saved his brothers life! He would always be there to protect his brother, always.

Wacheza flopped out on the sand beside his brother, sopping wet and hw would almost look miiserable if he hadn't been smiling so widely, "Wow...since you saved me, does that make you my hero?" He then moved from adorable-slightly-younger-brother mode back to thinker, "And does that mean... if you're a hero... that I'm the damsel in distress...? Does that even make sense?" Wacheza was essentially talking to himself as he stopped, stood up and shook himself out, salt water and seaweed flying off of him.
"I'm not a girl... so I must have just been in distress, which means that you were still her hero, right?" Wacheza nodded as he logicallt worked things out for himself, all earlier panic dissapearing, "Yes, that must be it. Which means, you're the brave one, not me." Wacheza didn't seem the least bit ashamed of these facts, he just said out loud what made sense to him, "And the crab was the bad guy. Or...am I the bad guy because I nearly stepped on him...?""

Tau just gazed at his brother for a very long time and sighed.
“You think way too much you know? Stop that, just relax!”
He didn’t want to think right now, really… the only thing Tau wanted to do was sleep. He was tired and mother’s side looked so welcoming from here.
“If you worry all the time your hair will fall out.”
He warned with a sly smirk.

"Worry...?" Wacheza asked, tilting his head to the side, "But... I don't worry, I just think about things... I don't worry about the things I don't know, I just like to try and figure them all out... Tau, do you really think my hair will fall out?"
He didn't think it would, but he trusted Tau more than almost any of his siblings. He didn't want his hair to go away, he liked it!

“Think? No, I KNOW it will!”
He gasped and rolled onto his side, making all kinds of crazy faces at his brother. He smirked inside though, unable to keep his sarcasm to himself.
“No, I’m only kidding, it won’t fall out.”

Wacheza had looked absolutly horrified for a moment, but then he smiled when Tau told him he had only been kidding, "You mean it? You promise it won't fall out if I keep thinking a lot? Because I like thinking... but I like my hair too..."
Then he just grinned, "Well... I trust you! If my hair falls out, I'll just stick on some of yours!"

"Oh shh."
Tau giggled and rolled away, sighing deeply to himself.
"Hey, I'm tired, I'm going to take a rest, i'll see you at home, alright? Don't go getting lost again."
He grinned at his brother, flashing his little teeth before bouncing off.
