Hayate's ears perked up when Janja said she would come back, she would, he knew she would. Janja didn't seem like one that would break any promises or anything, so he smiled, flicked his tail and nodded, "Sure, we can walk that way if you like..." He stood up, stretched his forelegs and gave her a smile.
Yes, one last walk before she went would be nice.
Least he didn't have to say good-bye too soon.
He took a few steps, wriggled his tail and waited for her to go as well. He didn't want distance between them really, especially right now before she went.

Janja smiled sadly at Hayate when he agreed to go for the walk, and stayed close at his heels when he stood up and started walking. She would have to lead the way, since they were heading back to where her family stayed and she was quite sure he didn't know where that was.
"I'll show you where we've been staying," she said, "And then you'll know where to look for me for when I come back!"

Hayate let her pad a bit in front of him though they were basically side to side. He smiled, wriggled his tail as they walked together. So he'd see her home? That'd be nice, even better when he would come and look for her again. He'd want to search her out as often as he could, though he didn't quite know how he would take it if she was not their when he came looking for her.
He'd find out in time he thought.
"Yes, that'd be nice, I'll come and find you someday when you come back, and we'll be able to play and look for flowers, it'll be fun. Then you can tell me of the good times and adventures you have in the pridelands, ok?"

"It makes sense," she answered brightly as she led the way, "If I can't find you, then there will be one place we know where to look." Janja weaved through the trees, regaining some energy as she got some eagerness towards showing Hayate where she would be staying when she came back.
"Yeah, I'll be able to tell you what kinds of flowers are there," she continued, replying to his statement and suggesting somethings she could look out for in the Pridelands. It would remind her of him, and that idea made her smile, "And what kind of games are easier or harder.."

"Then everything should be fine then, I'll see you again, so everything will be fine," he thought with that said, there would be no need for sadness, it wasn't like she was going to go away to the Pridelands, and never come back, right? Right? He assured himself that wasn't the case, least he hoped not.
The sound of water made his ears flick to the side, must mean they were getting close, which also meant he'd have to say good-bye.

Janja could tell they were getting close to the waterfall, and slowed her pace accordingly. It didn't sound like her family was around, but their scent was around. She smiled at Hayate when he assured himself and her that everything would be fine, "Exactly! I'll be back and we'll meet here."
As the waterfall inevitably came into view, Janja came to a stop.
"This is it," she announced quietly.

"Yea, that'll be great fun, it'll just be like before," he sad with a nod and a smile. Like it was before, before what, now? Well, she was leaving, that's why he said it he decided. He wished she would stay but, it didn't seem possible. They'd meet again...they'd have to. "I see," he said looking at the waterfall Other scents were on the wind, her family might get angry if he came too close to their home.
"I guess this is it," he turned to her, his green hues fixated on her, he really did want her to stay. "I'll miss you when your gone, come back soon okay?" he moved himself to give her somewhat of an awkward hug, awkward because at the moment she wasn't hugging back.
But at least it was something.

It didn't take any thought to know what Hayate meant when he said it would be just like before. Janja knew, even if they'd really only played a couple times. She didn't realize that he expected her family to be upset if he came right out to the waterfall, though she did expect they might be around since they intended to leave soon.
"I will," she answered brightly and reassuring, something they'd both said over and over, "Right back here." Janja smiled and returned the hug gesture happily, it was a nice way to say goodbye to a friend. As odd as it was, Janja was somewhat happy she didn't have many she had to go through this with- it was hard enough with just one.

Hayate didn't say anything for a minute or two, he just liked having it quiet, the water falling behind them, the warmth of their hug, it was too nice to end, he didn't want it to end, but he knew he had to. He reluctantly pulled away, you could see it in his face he didn't want to go, but he had to head home too.
"Right back here, I'll come find you, I swear Janja..." he said with a nod, taking a few steps to where they had come from, before he jumped into the jungle, he turned, waved and whispered, "bye" only so she could hear. It was so hard for him to say! Why?! With that, he took one last look at his best friend, and jumped into the jungle once again to head home.
He'd come find her again...he would.

Janja was reluctant to move as well, knowing it would be the last time for awhile. However, she was optimistic and knew that they would see each other again before too-too long. After all, she'd be able to find her way back here in a heartbeat. When Hayate moved away, she smiled at him, and as he swore he would find her when she got back she nodded. No words were needed on her part.
"Goodbye," she murmured after him as he went off. And she stood watching where he'd gone for several moments before she turned around to go back to her family. It wasn't easy saying goodbye to your best friend. With a sigh, she turned her thoughts towards the journey ahead and walked to the waterfall.
