Leoven was quietly reading in his room, he did not really want to socialise that night as Jareth's adopted son had returned he felt he'd retain some peace by staying out of his way, given the arguments they had had in the past. There was also the fact of the little creature that had emerged when the Labyrinth had been completed, which had completely thrown him and made him rather confused.

Macy came to Leoven's door and stood outside staring at the wood for some time, he was contemplating how to go about getting to his wanted subject. Taking a deep breath and steeling himself, he tentively knocked on the door.
"Lord Leoven?" he asked, opening the door and peeking his head around it and internally smiled when he found his first location was the right one--upon noting that Leoven was reading in his room--as searching for him all over would darken his mood.

Leoven looked up from his book and raised an eyebrow. What was Macy doing outside his room at this time of night. In fact why was he even talking to him. The last encounter he had with the Unigon had been less than pleasant and unless picking fights was his idea of entertainment, he had not counted on ever seeing him again if he didn't have to.
He cautiously opened the door to his room and poked his head around it.
"Was there something you wanted?" he asked, in the most level voice he could muster.

"yes actually, I wanted to ask you about someone...a female Unicorn, Shiayla" Macy said bluntly, as pleasantries would only make him testy. He didn't even talk pleasantries with Caspian unless the Pirate King prompted it.
Macy stood with his hands clasped behind his back, kicking at an invisible rock on the floor. He was expecting the door to be slammed in his face. Though he kep[t his face and posture normal and friendly.

Leoven frowned. How would an outsider know such a close kept secret about his kingdom. The Unicorn in question had come the Unseelie court in search of sanctuary twenty years ago, which they had eventually granted after much debate. Noone from outside was supposed to know of it as it would bring their already troubled kingdom under much criticism.
"I'm afraid you are mistaken." he said with equal bluntness. "There are no Unicorns in my country."

Macy's eyebrows lifted as he gauged Leoven's reactions, he looked slightly puzzled if cagey as ever.
"from what i'm told my mother last took refuge in the Unseelie kingdom, but if i'm mistaken then i'm sorry for bothering you and i'll tell her diary she's a compulsive liar aswell as Jareth" Macy answered cooly, waving his hand absently.

Leoven paled at the coment. There had been rumours that she had a child that had been left behind. He himself found it rather hard to imagine the Holy One being a mother, and even harder to picture Macy as her son.
"Your mother?" he said with surprise "Well that explains how you know of her at least. But mother or no mother, I have been given strict orders about what I can and cannot reveal about my kingdom."

Macy's face fell into a troubled one, she was there, if not Leoven would have clarified his earlier comment. He sighed a little and ran a hand through his hair. For the first time since he was four he felt like crying, for both himself and his parents, though he managed to hide it.
"who gives a damn about some rules?, I want to find my mother...my father's dead because of me...I just don't want my mother to be the same" he murmured and turned, he couldn't keep a calm face around Leoven now and he foudn that he couldn't trust him or like him either, he despised Loeven for keeping his mother away and with these thoughts he started to walk down the hallway, silent and broading.

Leoven felt a dark pang of guilt rise within him. He hadn't meant to upset the young man so much, but orders were orders, and he would remain loyal to his king nomatter how much the Unigon's story pulled at his heartstrings. At least that was what he told himself but he got the feeling that he had not heard the end of this.

Macy's mood was now so foul that he wouldn't even come out of his room for dinner even when the Goblins tried bringing his dinner upstairs he simply placed it on the floor outside his room and shut the door. He was worried about his mother, he knew she was in the hands of the Unseelie and he wanted to see her. He wanted to apologise about everything, he just wanted his mother back.

Several floors below Macy's room in the castle's rather archaic dining room the mood had turned rather cold and it wasn't because of the draughts under the door.
Jareth stared at his guest over his glass of wine, and by the Unseelie's expression it was pretty obvious that things had not gone well. But Leoven didn't seem as angry as he had expected, in fact he seemed rather upset. Maybe he had wanted to help but was torn by his own loyalties, or maybe Macy's situation had touched a nerve with him or reminded him of a painful memory. He knew it was useless to ask his guest about what had happened as he had never met a more secretive man in his life, so after the awkward dinner had ended he made his way up the steep flights of stairs towards Macy's room and knocked cautiously on the door.

" I told you i'm not eating that damned dinner!! go away!!" Macy yelled icily, though it hinted onto a sad tone. He was led on the bed, in his night clothes and staring at his mothers picture in the locket. He wanted his mother so very badly, he wanted someone to cling to and cry and feel safe with. Cas did that, but he needed his family to do so aswell.
'what family? i'm the outcast of society' he thought, in a bad mood over how things with Loeven had turned out. He had gotten his hopes up too soon and now they had shattered around him.

Jareth sighed and opened the door anyway. "You'll get ill again if you don't keep your strength up." he chided. Macy did have a right to be upset but he wasn't going to let it get in the way of his health like it had in the past. "I take it, things didn't go well." he continued "What happened?"

Macy blinked at Jareth in surprise before looking away, his face going sour in expression.
"she's there I know she is, but he won't tell me anything...nothing at all..." Macy answered, his voice rather uneven with emotions. His throat felt tight, from where he was holding his tears in. He wasn't going to cry anymore, he promised himself he wouldn't. "Jareth...I...I want to see my mother, I want my mother" he added in a barely audible voice.

Jareth nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed. "I know you miss her. It must be hard because you were old enough to remember her when she brought you here." he thought back to that fateful day with more than a little sadness and also thought about his own family. His father who only months before had taken his own life, his older sister on the other side of the world in an arranged marriage that neither her or her husband had wanted and finally his own mother who had resigned herself to a life of mourning and was now hiding herself away in one of their country palaces. He wondered what Leoven's family was like, and hoped his life was better than his or Macy's. "He seemed more sad than angry, Macy." he concluded. "I don't think he wanted to withhold that information."
