((XD Midnight, not that it matters, but Look was just making a joke out of Shentan's comment. Since she hadn't specified it was any other morph, he had implied that she made it sound like any other female.

@Raincloud ~ And I'm sorry about that! ^^; Don't feel bad! You're doing great. I just get a little carried away with my posts sometimes. I never know just how long they're going to end up. Yours are fine! They're consise and to the point, and that's all we need!

And thanks! heart XD Midnight suggested that maybe we can configure a list of our characters and their pictures on the first few posts so we can see how they look whenever we want. LOL, and Benny disagrees with your comment, but he thnaks you just the same. rofl

Benjamin: redface ))

The Beedrill morph regarded Tonia curiously, noting her momentary uncertainty. However, he decided it was probably nothing to worry about as she perked back up, complimenting his name. "Heh. Thanks. Ben's a lot easier to go by, though, so feel free to call me whatever." He felt sorry when he sensed her humiliation in withdrawing her hand, but he knew it was for the best. The alternative was unthinkable.

"Strangers?" he repeated with a small chuckle. "Well...not anymore, right? Now that we've all introduced ourselves and everything." The beedrill-morph chanced a smile at Yena beofre turning back to the Milotic-morph.

"Tonia, I think you're confusing rudeness with friendliness. Trust me, you're perfectly fine in that department. If you met my twins, you'd know the difference." It was funny how he had somehow ended up claiming the boys as his own and not realized he had done so. The three had known each other a long time, and it seemed that though none of their parents were around to raise them properly now that they were older and out on their own, Benjamin had naturally accepted the responsibility of the pair himself.

"Ask me anything you want to know. But I'll warn you now, nothing of my life is really that interesting. In fact, it's so boring it seems I've placed my dependance on the twins to liven it up. Not willingly, of course, but...they do give it meaning, I guess. Like a couple of boys who give meaning to the life of a babysitter...but I really don't know how it ended up that way."

"And yes, that's right. Pityingly, somewhere along the road they became hopeless alcoholics," Benny replied with a distinctly bitter tone. "They travel a lot, and I'm not in any situation to follow or question them everywhere they go. My home is in this city. Their business is their own. They're my friends, but I'm not their mother."

Turning his head to sneeze in the other direction, he smiled and kindly declined Tonia's offer as she dropped her tissue. "Don't worry about it. I'll be fine, but thanks. I - I just don't do so well in this weather...in fact, I don't normally go too often if I can help it. If it weren't for those pests, I'd - ahCHOO!" He turned away yet again. "I just need to get out of the rain. The sooner, the better. At least you shouldn't worry because you're a water type."

Behind his dark shades, Benjamin's crimson pair of pupiless eyes widened at Tonia's blushing smile and Yena's enthusiastic approval. Huh...you don't find a pair of such kind-hearted souls out on these streets everyday...especially today... he thought pleasantly, warmed by the girls' decisions to come along.

"Okay, then...I guess that's decided. Don't worry about it! You won't be a burden! Believe me! In fact I'm worried about you two coming along to where I think we're going, but I guess as long as you stay close to me, I can make sure you're safe. It's just...today's so...dangerous. Just...just be careful, okay? Keep away from the guys. Especially those twins. Drunks are never well-behaved around ladies, if you catch my drift." Peering over the top of his shades, Ben flashed them a warning look before raising his head to gaze overhead at the darkening clouds.

"Huh?" He looked up suddenly at the sound of Yena's call to see her walking ahead in the direction of the bar. "Oops, sorry...just wondering about what those hooligans might have gotten themselves into..." Ben turned to nod at the shops lining the sidewalk. "Oh, and if you're interested, it's none of my business, but there's a gourmet confections store on the way to the bar, if that's where we're headed. I'm sure they'll have some treats there."

"Not listening?!" Look exclaimed in mock surprise at Keevo's quiet comment on his sister's status. "Well that's just too bad. She's missing out on our awesome singing! Be a shame if she missed the one I had ready just for her." The Beautifly-morph couldn't help but grin at Shentan's comment, having heard the whole conversation between herself and Dowle. "Why thank you, Miss Critisism. We try our best. Don't we, Leer?" He turned to his purple-skinned twin, who had very nearly emptied the contents of his bottle after fixing up his own mike.

It seemed to have its affect. The alcohol was definately starting to go to Leer's brain as the Irish-accented voice began to blithely slur its words. "'Course weedoo!" he hiccuped, laughing. "It's how we make'a livin'!"

"Uh oh..." Look snickered as he sensed his brother's gradually deteriorating mental state. "I think I'll take the lead on this one, 'kay, Leer? You can do the next all your own."

"Sure, bro...whatever yousay!" the Dustox-morph acknowledged merrily in his drunken stupor. He wasn't completely stoned yet, but he certainly was getting there. Look hoped to get him singing before he could fill his mouth with more drink.

"Right...now I know you're drunk, if you're going to go along with what I say," Look chortled suspiciously. "But assuming you are...then this song's called 'Vertical'. Perfect for the two of us, Leer and I. Being travelers and all, I guess. Here's to wandering aimlessly!" he laughed as the music began once again.

"I won't - "
"I won't - "
" - won't be held down; be stuck here on the ground!"
"Yes sir!"

"It’s the real me - "
"Real me - "
"I have found, and I’m risin' up - "
Risin' up!"

Look cast Leer an irritable glance. It was as if the Dustox-morph was determined to cut in, persistant despite his agreement to allow Look to be lead. What bothered him wasn't that Leer changed his mind - in fact, Leer almost always pushed Leer to be lead during a solo. What bothered Look was that his drunk brother was simply toying with him - pushing his buttons just for the hell of it. He could be a real jerk when the alcohol got into his system.

"I won't - "
"I won't - "
" - won't be held down; be stuck here on the ground!
It’s the real me - "

"Real me - "
"I have found, and I’m risin' up - "
"Risin' up!

Yeah!"

It was then Look took a step forward, taking with him not only his own mike, but Leer's as well, perhaps to prevent his brother from inturrupting or committing any stupid mistakes during the solo.

"You're feelin' something's incomplete;
Your faith is wearing concrete feet.
And they refuse to make a move;
This can't be your life."

Mimicing a conversation with his brother, the Beautifly-morph humerously gestured to Leer as he sang, facing him so that the audience still had a good view of his profile.

"You know that something's out of step;
'Cause you ain't found the rhythm yet.
You pray for one, a different drum;
'Cause this one ain't right."

At that point, the Dustox-morph boldy cut in to reclaim his microphone, casting his brother a resentful smirk as he firmly took it into his own hands when they began the chorus.

"I believe that I can be 'most anything.
Yeah, uh-huh.
Watch me spread my wings!"

In coordination to the song the boys dramatically raised their folded wings, appearing to hover just above the stage as they continued their routine.

"Going vertical!
A dream gets to fly.
It's like a miracle;
up into the sky!

If you want it and need it,
Now you just got to free it,
And it goes vertical!"

"Vertical!"

While Look remained aloft, Leer, with a sly grin, alighted swiftly on the stage once more, knowing his twin enjoyed flying too much to come down right away. In the instant it took Look to realize what Leer planned, Leer already had the microphone in his hands, siezed tightly about the stand and looking as if he were using it to support himself. He had already begun to wobble about onstage, and it soon became apparent he had grown rather weak in the knees.

Nevertheless, Leer grinned mischeviously up at the bewildered Beautifly, taking revenge for Look's little musical mockery of him. In imitation of Look's earlier berating, Leer threw out his arms in a defiant, argumentative gesture that went with the words he had begun to sing in the solo. He knew he had assured Look the lead to the song beforehand, but he wanted to let Look know that he wasn't so stoned yet that he couldn't realize when he was being ridiculed.

"Why shouldn't I unlock the door?
That's what I've got my own key for.
I don't care who's keepin' score;
I'm not gonna lose."

He winked at the large, blue eyes that glared down at him from the air, just as Look had understood Leer's intent and landed lightly beside him.

"Don't matter what I'm up against -
Only what it represents.
If in my head it's making sense,
I'm gonna choose."

Look forcefully retrieved his own mike from Leer with a swift grab in time for the chorus.

"To believe that I can be 'most anything.
Yeah, uh-huh.
Watch me spread my wings!"

Again, they took to the air, folding their arms over their chests stubbornly and breaking eye-contact with each other just enough to maintain it with their audience. The whole thing seemed like a well-improvized, yet immature display of the twin's playful quarrel. It was a miracle they managed to keep the show going without even missing a note.

"Going vertical!
A dream gets to fly.
It's like a miracle;
up into the sky!

If you want it and need it,
Now you just got to free it,
And it goes vertical!"

"I won't - "
"I won't - "
" - won't be held down; be stuck here on the ground!"
"Yes sir!"
"It’s the real me - "
"Real me - "
"I have found, and I’m risin' up - "
Risin' up!"

"I won't - "
"I won't - "
" - won't be held down; be stuck here on the ground!
It’s the real me - "

"Real me - "
"I have found, and I’m risin' up - "
"Risin' up!

Yeah!"

"Vertical..."

"A miracle..."

"Want it, you need it - "

"- Free it -"

"Vertical..."

"Vertical!
A dream gets to fly.
It's like a miracle;
up into the sky!

If you want it and need it,
Now you just got to free it,
And it goes vertical!"

" - Vertical!"

As the music faded, each brother lightly touched down onto the stage, bowing symmetrically, but not together, so that it looked more like two halves of the same bow.

Positively glaring at Leer with his big blue eyes, Look 'accidentally' brushed passed his twin as he turned to head off stage for a drink of his own, his shoulder colliding hard with Leer's.

"Break a leg," he murmured grumpily. "You want the spotlight so bad, it's yours. I'm gonna go get a drink of my own, 'cause I'm sick of watching you down your whole bottle after yelling at me for having some. Go on! I wanna see you sing solo when you're stoned."

"Oh? That what you want?" Leer inquired good-naturedly as he recovered from the 'accidental' shoulder collision. "Well, then...I'll need another drink for that. Go on, Looky, go get me one. I'll sing a good song we can all drink to. It'll be fun! Go on - go have your drink. But after my solo, it's your turn, got it?"

"You're on," Look answered smugly as he leapt up off the stage and glided down toward the bar counter on his huge, colorful wings. "Yo, Dowle? Some whiskey for Leer and me, please?" He reached his hand into his pocket and slammed down a few coins on the counter top. "Leer wants to do a number on his own. And he wants to make sure he's good and drunk."

Tonia listened to the beedrill morph intently, trying to be no more of a nuissance than she already felt she was. Ben had said that his story was boring, but it seemed to have much more meaning to her than it seemed he took it for. To have the sort of friends he had been explaining didn't seen that bad she thought. To have friends as you grow up at all almost gave her the thought of comfort for those few seconds.

"Yes, well, I suppose being a water type does help." She shrugged. "Worried? What could possibly occur?" Tonia said humbly in a sort of light joking manner. "I'll be ok. I always am. She beamed. Ben warned them then, and her cheer seemed to fall downward a touch.

"Confections Store?" She pondered for a moment, " There was another store I was actually thinking of, but now that you mention it, that may be a better idea time wise. Ok." She agreed. To get some nicely made dog treats for Yena would make her feel much better about the incident before hand. "That sound good to you Yena? My treat for being so clumsy!"
She asked. So, which way first then?" She asked shyly.

Shentan's eyebrows perked upward in a moking way, "I enjoy Critisism." She said pleasantly, slowly, and quiet; now begining to assume that they must have some sort of accute hearing or concentration to have listened in on her conversation while they were performing.

Her eyes slowly twisted to Leer after his comment, "You're gonna spit up your insides if you're not careful." She said with careless discust.

Shentan and Keevo watched as the two prepared for their next performance. As the song began to play through, and the two were both singing, Shentan definetly could see what was going on here, and she felt that she proved herself right. Leer was way to drunk. Watching the performance, Shentan saw it as somewhat ammusing, but probably because she only knew what was occuring. The song ended.

Shentan looked at Look with that high eyebrowed, yet dazed look again, 'Wow. Some performance." She mentioned almost mockingly. She tapped the fingertips of her left paw on the palm of her right hand, almost like a golf clap.

Keevo just stared at Leer. He must have been thinking of something, looked as if he were in a daze yet also concentrated. Keevo was the type you never knew what was going on in his head. It was almost scary.
Keevo got off his stool and got up close to Shentan. "I'm going to go outside for a little bit." He wispered.

"Ok." Shentan quietly replied back. There was no question necessary. He would come back. He probably wouldn't go anywhere, and if he did it would be far. He was smart, and he would be safe.

Keevo Put his hands in his jacket, pulled over his hood, and exited the building. It had been raining much harder than when he had entered the building. He took a large breath and leaned against one of the walls outside the front doors. He just needed a breather. There was too much excitement going on in there. He was amazed his sister could stand it. She was actually interacting with people? Amazing. The rain was slowly becoming heavier on his hood, and he pulled it back so that his shaggy Blackish Brown hair was visible.

The droplets of water were slowly dripping down each strand. The breeze was cool, and the shade from the overcast was nice. He hated the sun. He pulled himself off the wall after a while of standing. Taking a direction, he began to walk. He didn't really know where he was going, only that he was going there, and only that he would return before dark. Each puddle he stepped in made him feel more and more meaningful. Almost as if he actually were alive. It felt... Different, at least for him.

He turned into a more active area of town. He hadn't walked that long of a distance, but at the slow pace he taken, it took a lot longer than average. Actually setting his mind, he noticed that he gone in almost an exact half circle, doubling around the bar/lounge.

His ears perked. He heard the mention of the two names of the bugs who had given his sister such annoyance, and then he heard the mention of the place he recently just left from. Turning his head he saw a group of people talking about heading there themseves. They were right ahead of him, and right in his path. He shifted his eyes. Great, more company. As to not disturb the group Keevo crossed the street-like area and then crossed back, as to go around them without disturbance. He would most likely see them later on anyways. He continued to make his way down the wet cement path, now decidedly heading back to sister.
