I don't have pregnancy stretch marks yet, but if they end up being anything like puberty stretch marks, I'd take them.

My breasts have been growing since I got them (I'm 25) and from a few sudden growth-spurts, they have stretch marks. They never completely go away (they're scars, actually, from tissue being stretched too much, too fast) but mine have mostly faded (except for the ones from the last growth spurt I had in my chest in 2003).

If I can get rid of the weight I'll gain during pregnancy, stretch marks won't bother me (I hope, I realize it may bother me a lot more if I HAVE them). Currently, I've got stretch marks on my chest, my hips, thighs and butt; none on my tummy.

One thing I heard that can HELP with your stretch marks is to keep the areas well-moisturized. Stretch Mark creams are, for the most part, bullshit. Just use a normal mosturizing lotion (especially right after bathing or showering, when you're skin is the dryest), and be very, very generous. It's BEST if you start applying ti BEFORE you get your stretch marks (because the more mosturized you're skin is, the easier it is for it to stretch safely). However, doing it now will help them heal a bit better, and help to prevent further tissue damage.

Also, you could talk to a dermatologist if you wish.

Use coco butter, even though I haven't had a child, I have stretch marks, and they are really nasty. All over my body, hips thighs, stomach and brests. It can help....I just need to buy some.

I was always a little on the chubby side but now that I haven't lost any pregnancy weight yet and my stomach looks like a cat scratched it all up I'm not too happy iwth the way it looks. I've tried a lot of things and have come to terms with the fact that their not going anywhere. I've seen pics of other Mom's and their stretch marks, mine aren't as bad; but still there. They used to be very red and now they kind of blend in with my skin tone.

that sounds like a good idea..lol..i've got a treadmill here at home, so after awhile..i'm going to try & excersie and diet smile My friend who had her baby in April dieted & she went down real fast & lost a lot of her baby weight. So hopefully it works, as for the stretch marks, blah..mine are soo bad lol.

stretch marks do NOT go away....... at least not naturally
they do fade out and become practically unnoticable after a while
(the ones on my hips from the rapid growth during puberty are more noticable than the ones I got during pregnancy)

Mine are white...and look like normal scars, my friend says that they look like someone has scratched me really bad. But because I was gaining some weight after coming off the pill I got some that are red and they are nasty.

after having my second I no longer have a stomach just a gaint glob of stretch marks. Atleast most of them are from my first pregnancy so they are pretty light. I guess all I can do is cross my fingers and hope they start giving out those lazer treatments for free.

After 4 kids I have a maze of stretch marks on my stomach. I dont worry about 'em since I'm not the bare mid-riff type. Really I feel like I earned each and every one of 'em! LOL smile

I have them, and mostly don't really notice they're there. My babyfat is practically non-existant since I had my son 6 months ago, but due to my skin tone you can barely see the stretch marks on my stomach. I didn't use any lotions or cremes, sometimes, I just forgot to use them. The backs of my legs look awful and red, but I don't see them unless i'm looking to see them, so I just forget about them. I don't even care if people see them in public anymore. hehe, nothing to be embarassed about though, it happens. wink

Meh, my mom can't blame me for her stretchmarks. She lost weight with me, and didn't get any bigger. I weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce when I was born. She can blame her two sons though...hehe, but not her baby girl.

Same story here, got pregnant, gained weight pretty fast and ended up with horrible marks on my stomach, and the flab too gonk

But that's okay, I've been exercising a bit and do plan to have a tummy tuck in a few years, that should get rid of the most visible marks.

I had my daughter three months ago *she's growing so fast crying * I pretty much have lost all the baby weight, I just have a little tummy *affectionetly called "The Pooch"lol* and stretch marks on both sides of my tummy. Lasering them is out of the question since we plan on having more children, so hopefully by next summer the pooch will be gone and the stretchmarks will fade away enough for me to wear a bikini without people asking me what animal attacked me lol.

Think of them as your "badge of honor" They will fade with time but never completely go away.Coco Butter is supposed to help if you apply it at the beginning of the pregnancy.

"badge of honor" I love that !
I rubbed pure vitamin e on my belly twice a day during my entire pregnancy and never got a single stretch mark, unfortunately I never thought about my hips - oops! got lots there. Don't know if the vitamin E really worked or if it was just a fluke but it is healing so maybe...

I tried vitamin e along with a vitamin k lotion on my stomach after I had my daughter two years ago. I didn't do it religiously but maybe it helped because my stretch marks are hardly noticeable now. I was lucky too though, I think they were barely above my underwear line right after I had my daughter and once I lost the weight they shrank lower so now I can hide them really easy.
