Hey, I'm an Amy Rose fangirl and darn proud. neutral I like her the way she is. That makes her an amusing and cool character to me. heart
I'm a SegaSonic purist, so I despise characters outside that....especially the ones from the Archie comics. *coughmostespeciallySallycough* This Mina character, however, sounds kinda nice, and I kinda like Fleetway's characters.

Well, if you've seen me on the official thread on the Gaming Discussion forum, I shared the same views as MurasakiDoku. For those who don't frequent the thread:MurasakiDoku the_quagmire Azura Bladewright MurasakiDoku Sally is an irrisponsible, arrogant, haughty, disrespecting, spoiled, selfish, useless, disgusting, whorish chipmunk/squirrel crossover. Sonic doesn't deserve to share a series with her. I love you. heart I was afraid I was the only one who felt that way.
As for fan characters, I once created a light blue hedgie named Skyler a long, long time ago for an art contest. I also created a black-and-yellow cat girl who I haven't named yet. sweatdrop can i get some examples of these accusations? whats haughty mean? Synonymns for "haughty" would be cocky or conceited. Irrisponsible: Needs to depend on all her friends to defend her Arrogant: Often (not always) uses her title as princess to her benefits. Haughty: Pretends that this is all okay and normal. Spoiled: See "Arrogant" Selfish: Wants Sonic all to herself; will not let him go and put himself at risk. Useless: See "irrisponsible" Disgusting: Personal (and Azura Bladewright's) opinion Whorish: See "Disgusting" Chipmunk/squirrel crossover: I'm not sure what her species really is, but I think I read somewhere that she was a hybrid of a chipmunk and a squirrel. Not quite sure where I read that, though. I was reading the Archie comic 'til about sometime shortly before issue 100 (exactly which one, I don't remember because it's been a while), and I was just fed up with Sally as a character. I sometimes read a few issues here and there out of curiosity, just to see how far things have come, and I'm still fed up with her. So...yeah, my mere opinion still stands. xp

Houdinia Wow, You look way deep into these things from a psycological standpoint. I cant really defend my opinion cause you've totally blow it out of the water and into space. Sorry. It's the English Major in me - over-analysis can be second nature sometimes. smile Quote: She also has a great advantage over everyone with speed, and yet she did'nt really help in the long run afterward. To be honest, I liked that, too. In a world where just about every character we'd seen had been just turning into good little freedom fighters and getting stuck into the good fight, it was a change to see someone who had ability but just didn't psychologically want that life. We actually got to see Mina figuring out that she was in the FFs for the wrong reasons, and also that there're more ways to serve the cause than on the front line - hence her singing for the troops as a morale booster these days, after we saw Sonic realising that she'd be more suited to that. Don't apologise! We all do about one thing or another. smile shadowrouge21 Azura Bladewright Hey, I'm an Amy Rose fangirl and darn proud. neutral I like her the way she is. I don't like Sally either biggrin or Mina. She goes out with Ash and I don't like that! stressed What's wrong with Ash? If anything, I find that it's probably Mina's character weakness that she flits between people who she wants to latch onto to a pretty reckless extent. She'd initially have gotten herself robotocised going off to save her family if Sonic hadn't stopped her, she then latched onto Sonic, and when Sonic was gone, she latched onto the next person to loom largely and closely in her life: her manager, Ash. She seemed to've figured that out and worked through it in 144's Love and Loss, though. And I don't see how it's Ash's fault. Azura Bladewright Well, if you've seen me on the official thread on the Gaming Discussion forum, I shared the same views as MurasakiDoku. So...yeah, my mere opinion still stands. xp I don't like Sally all that much, either. True, it could've been worse, and the "I am a princess, but out here in the Great Forest, titles're meaningless!"/"Out here, the only royalty is Mother Nature" dialogue could've extended beyond the SatAM series bible and the pilot. But a lot of my opinion on the early Sally can be found here. My original comment was twice as long, but clipped to fit their 1,000 word limit - ask if you want to see the full version. To be honest, I like the character development we've seen Sally go through recently. Since the age of five, she's been a figurehead and raised as a leader in the middle of a guerilla war. Now, at a time in their lives when most teens're having identity crises anyway, all of that's just suddenly been over, she's got back her family and all of her formal responsibilities, and she's just being blithely expected to readjust. Is it any wonder that she let her parents push her around initially, when she was probably just so grateful to have them both back? Plus, it was an entirely plausible response from someone suffering from depression - which has actually been mentioned in the comic. And I like that. For ten years, we've been watching a little girl fight a freakin' war and all of this death, peril and destruction bounce off her. It's nice to see a realistic reaction in that mentally, she's finally cracked. And ever since, we've been seeing her openly reassess who she is. She's had to put "FF Sally" back in her box, dust off "Princess Sally", and try to figure out who even "just Sally" is along the way. If anyone's seen Jon Gray's original final page for Love and Loss (which was destroyed by Hurricane Frances), that'd be even clearer than it already is. Sally's actually being seen having realistic reactions to situations, and being allowed to grow. As far as Bollers was concerned, anyway. And whilst it doesn't redeem a lot of her flaws, I can respect it for giving her a set of more understandable ones.

Ugh. I'm sorry, but I just really have to let this out. OH GOD. I find that line so horribly, horribly cheesy that I honestly felt sick after reading that. How sick? Honestly, I can stomach Happy Tree Friends much easier than that. (Don't know Happy Tree Friends? If you're faint at heart, best not to find out. xp ) I'm sorry if this comment is too offensive. But I'm weird like that.Nuala But a lot of my opinion on the early Sally can be found here. My original comment was twice as long, but clipped to fit their 1,000 word limit - ask if you want to see the full version. I went and read that comment. Oh my. I'd like to see the full version. I never got to see SatAM, but I think now I'm glad I never did. It's hard to believe Sonic and Tails got portrayed like that! O_o I'm a bit ticked!
I'm not aware of Sally's changes since I only read the comics occasionally, but it's good that she's developed into a better character. However, she's left a bad taste in my mouth, so it's hard for me to like her, ever.Quote: One thing I'll say for 'Sonic X' was that Sonic lacks book-smarts and he thinks as fast as he runs, but he's not stupid. No book smarts? Then how did he figure out what was happening with the Egg Moon before Tails or Chuck? xd mrgreen wink

But I'm weird like that. It's not my sort of show, but yes, I know it. And the fact that Sally was at least stopped from going that far beyond the pilot was a relief to me, too. Azura Bladewright I went and read that comment. Oh my. I'd like to see the full version. I never got to see SatAM, but I think now I'm glad I never did. It's hard to believe Sonic and Tails got portrayed like that! O_o I'm a bit ticked! Again, the complete babying of Tails was drawn back from - but he did so little that it made very little difference in the end. It was an okay cartoon - especially for its time - but it wasn't Sonic as far as I was concerned. I'll see if I can find the original comment on my laptop, and PM it to you. Azura Bladewright I'm not aware of Sally's changes since I only read the comics occasionally, but it's good that she's developed into a better character. However, she's left a bad taste in my mouth, so it's hard for me to like her, ever. I can't say I blame you. As you can probably tell from that comment, she's rubbed me up the wrong way for a long time, too. Quote: No book smarts? Then how did he figure out what was happening with the Egg Moon before Tails or Chuck? xd mrgreen wink smile Like I said - he's a fast thinker and not overly given to introspection. Whilst they were busy analysing things, he just looked up and pointed at the freakin' obvious.

I have to admit to being an Amy convertee (invented word there, sorry!). I absolutely loathed her from her appearance in Sonic CD onward, she was a pain in the neck to race with in Sonic R, she had an awful theme tune in Sonic Adventure and she was clearly colourblind in Sonic Adventure 2 (hello, black hedgehog with red tipped spines does *not* look like the object of her desire!).
And yet, watching Sonic X I found she was a heck of a lot less annoying as an actual personality. Yeah, she still had this whole stalker thing going on, but she seemed a little more independent and a little less hostage bait. She also had that Pika hammer of hers which she could materialise out of nowhere (really love her attack on Eggman when they got back home!) and you did *not* want to get her angry! She's even better in season 2.
She was pretty useful in Team Rose in Sonic Heroes and, heaven help me, I actually like her theme in that game.
*hides under a stone at this admission of liking something so sentimental*
So, although she'll never usurp Tails or indeed Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow, she's improved and she's now pretty cool to me.

Like I said: this juxtaposition confuses me. In being determined to catch Sonic, she was as dependent as any damsel as far as I was concerned - but she handled herself well, rather than sat around waiting to be rescued, as she used to.

Amy. Although I'm not a big fan of her like I was before Battle, she's still pretty cool. Sonic Battle scared me though when it came to her personality, and she was actually imagining Sonic with her. confused I don't know, she's cool; but Sega should stop pushing her more into the whole Sonic obsession thing before they literally make her insane.

Slizergiy If you don't like Amy (as in Sega Amy) you might want to have a look at this image of Testament Rose first. This version of Amy is way cooler: http://trg.fireball20xl.com/dl/trosewallpaper.jpgAlso you may want to read A Fireball20xl comic called Author Space first to understand where Testament Rose fits in. That Amy scares me. O.o shadowrouge21 Nuala shadowrouge21 I despise Amy Rose and wish to find others who agree. Post if u have coments. What about posting your comments, too? What is it about Amy that you hate so much? She's pink. I hate the color pink so much!!!! stressed stressed stressed stressed I may dislike pink after a valentine's day accident, but I won't hate Amy for that as much for Mifeulle Sakurabas uberluck.(Galaxy Angel) DragonhalfShane Seems like a pretty unfair reason...After all, Kirby is pink, and nobody seems to hate him razz I mean, sure, Amy can be annoying at times with her semi-stalker-ish behavior towards Sonic, but at least you know she has plenty of devotion and determination. Plus, uh...have you seen any episodes of Sonic X that feature her?...That is one little pink hedgehog you do NOT want to tick off... True. TailsPrower86 I Think the real hateful character is cream i mean who would want to name a Chao Cheese i'd name itsomething different Amy is also a little useless in the game she can't spin dash at all or roll into a ball and shes a hedgehog too isn't she? Cream and Cheese is a pun for a brittish dish if I am not mistaking. Amy can spindash and the other things Sonic does in: - Sonic advance 2 - Sonic adventure 2: battle(my little sisters forbids me using her in 2 player games mrgreen ) - Sonic advance 3: Amy+Sonic tagteam. - Sonic heroes.

I will always see Amy as usless in this series. thats all I have to say bout that.
But as for mina, yes she was desperatly needed to spice up the series but in my opinion she is only there to strengthe the bond between Sonic and Sally. I love her strong charecter and think she's great but its a good thing she move on to ash, because if she had screwed up Sonic and Sally's relationship more than it already was I would have to go and kill her.
