A full fish? At least Oz had the humanity to pick someone who still had something human about her. He couldn't grasp how Marshall could find something that had a fish face to be attractive...but only days prior...Oz had struggled with Sayuri's latest change of losing her legs.
"Okay, that makes outdoorsy things harder, unless she can stay out of water for a while or something," he continued, rubbing the back of his head idly.
He skirted Marshall's query on purpose. There probably wans't anything wrong with talking about Sayuri, especially since he didn't have to say anything about his relationship to her.
"Yeah...y'know, like that Disney cartoon. Fish on bottom, woman on top. Wouldn't surprise me if they could do that here, they've done just about everything else."

"I guess so." Marshall shrugged, not really reading between the lines. It was true: The Labs could do that if they wanted to, really. Hell, they already managed to give Gaius giant wings and make a freakish dragon-like thing. And, lets not forget the beak.
"So...Wanna watch the new Saw movie with me?" Marshall asked, changing the subject. Oz's advice was a life saver, but he didn't want to annoy his larger friend. "I'm not that far into it, any way."

"Well, sure, I haven't seen it yet...for obvious reasons," he chuckled lightly. "But you sure you haven't got any more questions?"
Oz suddenly became aware of a most peculiar feeling. Although he was his senior by only a few years, he was put in an awkward feeling of an elder male. Like a father figure or older brother. It was bizarre, to say the least.

"Well, I doubt you can answer 'Is she out of my league'," Marshall chuckled, pushing on the Rewind button on the DVD player's remote, "Buutt...Nope, you pretty much answered every thing. I needed to know...Thanks, Kong. Its nice to know I got some one I can ask this crap to with out looking like an idiot." he smiled, as odd as ever with a beak, but warm none the less.
"So, speakin' of girls...Hows yours?"

"I'm surprised you didn't go to Gaius, or is he just as wet behind the ears too?" he smirked, still quite enjoying the odd irony of being the chubbiest and smelliest of Islanders, but somehow having more knowledge of the opposite sex.
"And look, don't consign yourself to 'leagues' and all that crap just yet. In a place like this, I highly doubt that kind of stuff matters."
Oz shuffled about on the couch and finally slipped off it and sat on the floor, tired of feeling it strain under his weight, tired of the creaking and tired of being tense, just waiting for it to snap.
"She's...good..." he trailed off.

"Gaius has been kinda busy lately...And I get the feeling he doesn't know much about girls either." Marshall sighed. He didn't want to admit that he hadn't even SEEN Gaius since the drinking night.
Marshall slipped down to the floor as well, no reason other than he didn't want Oz to feel weird or any thing.
"Well, thats good to hear!"

Oz felt a sense of smugness wash over him for a moment, showing itself only briefly in a flash of a smile. He was still grappling with a macho sense of being more well versed in the ways of wooing, although much of what he was telling Marshall was from a long while ago. He was a stallion who was out of practice.
"I should open up classes in this stuff," he chortled, watching as the penguin slid to the floor also.
The film began, and he used it as an excuse not to follow up on Marshall's question about his 'girl.' Oz was ashamed to admit how he now saw Sayuri, and just didn't want to think about it.
"What is the attraction to films like this?" he asked idly with a smile. "Psychological things always hurt my head."

"Hmm...I dunno. Maybe its just comforting to know that no matter how shitty things get they could always get worse?" Marshall replied, watching a guy being forced to cut himself open with a spork to get a key, "...Orrr maybe we're just sick in the head? OH EW HE HIT A JUGULAR!" Marshall laughed, as terribly unrealistic blood squirted the poor actor in the face.

"Yeah...true...but how often does THAT happen in real life?" he laughed, then realised the sheer ridiculousness and the painful bitterness of his question.
Oz felt awkward and all tense in his chest as that shaken sense of reality just washed over him, chilling him to the core. He physically shuddered, then tried to hide his momentary show of weakness as he laughed lightly.
"Awww man, you'd think after decades of horror movies, they'd have more realistic blood by now."

"You'd think so." Marshall giggled, looking up at Oz. Part of him was curious as to why he was acting so peculiar. Maybe he was just freaked out by the movie? Who'd think Ozzy was so easily freaked out? Oh well. Lots of things have happened around here lately... Marshall though, looking back at the TV. Here he was, twenty one years old, sitting on the floor, watching a cheesy violent sequel with a giant Gorilla man. And still, all he could think about was how his friend was apparently not as tough as he lead on.
The movie came and went, the shocks were expected and the imagery was grotesque, and some where along the way Marshall had fallen asleep, his feathered chin resting on his knees, which had been pulled up towards his chest. A soft snore escaped him, as embarrassing as it was.

Oz had survived the lure of sleep that had claimed the penguin boy, and he hadn't shuddered again since that one time. He leaned back and stretched his mishapen torso, only emphasising that extra length he had been 'blessed' with after Christmas. He glanced over to see Marshall snoring in that odd position and he chuckled.
As he stood to leave, he was struck with a most wicked idea and almost wanted to forget it. But he couldn't. Normally, what he'd have done was position the poor sod to have one finger jammed up his nose.
But Marshall had neither anymore, so after gently lifting him onto the couch, he maneavured one flipper to rest just inside his shorts. Sure, it was immature and silly, but it'd be funny as hell to see the reaction of the next person to walk in!
With stifled snorts of laughter, Oz sneaked away.
