Occam tilted his head the other direction, trying to read the minute expressions that played over her face. He knew without a doubt now that she had looked into his mind, and wondered what she had seen. Most times the loner went without knowing himself what went on in his own head, which was no doubt for the best. Too many things had happened to him in the past, things that would have broken a lesser wolf by now. He was hanging together by mere threads as it was.
“Hallie, may I ask you something?” he questioned, blue eyes glimmering with more emotions than the sky held birds. He couldn't fathom why he wanted to know what he was going to ask her, but he couldn't stop himself now, and didn't even wait for her reply.
"Will I always be lost?"
He hoped she understood what he meant. He hoped with all of his being, because at that moment, he didn't think he could explain himself. Just asking the question made him want to flee, his paws itching to send his body towards the falling sun, its colors bold and vibrant and so very appropriate.
The sky looked bathed in blood.

"Of course, ask away," she said, though hesitantly. She was afraid that he would ask a question that she wouldn't be able to answer or, worse, wouldn't be able to find the answers for. When he asked something that was, on the surface, quite simple, she lowered her head and pinned her ears back.
Hallie sighed, sitting herself down as she looked back up towards the other wolf in front of her. Her mind began to reach out towards his again, but she quickly bit off the urge. She had to remember what pain she had caused him before when she had done that.
"I cannot honestly say right now... I'd either have to look into your mind or I'd have to try and get a vision to come to me," her voice trailed off as her eyes clouded with thought. "It is not all simple. Sometimes there are things about my... powers... that I do not understand. I've still yet to learn everything." Particularly the true extent of her powers. How far could she push herself? She had been told numerous times that her power and potential was great but.. just how far did that go?
"And I don't want to hurt you," she whispered, golden eyes locking on to his.

Stopping his head from falling in defeat, he sighed. It wasn't her fault. Not by a long shot. And there was no way he could have expected her to know the answer. It was just . . .
No. He needed to let this wolf get on with her life. She had enough to deal with, and looking into his head again was something she didn't need added to her list of things best forgotten.
Perking one ear forward, because that was all he could muster at the moment, he dipped his head to her, tail wagging half-heartedly. "No worries, ma'am. It was a stupid question anyway." He than gave her an honest smile, showing a hint of glistening fang. "It was an honest pleasure to meet you, Lady Hallie. I hope the winds fair thee well." Stepping forward to touch his nose briefly to her cheek in thanks, he turned and ran, his paws looking like burning flames so real that the grass could have smoked wherever he stepped.
Then he was gone.
((I'm so sorry, Tam. I haven't been a good rper. ;A; I figured it best to put this one out of its misery, though I did have fun with it. Hallie is a very cool wolf. <3 ))
