You didn't get counted either a mare or stallion until you'd gotten over those little things that made you a foal. Took more than just being bigger.

"So Ah've gotta be old like you?" Her brow lofted slightly followed by a soft snort as she shook her head. "How'd'you know tha difference? Or you jus' sayin' that 'cause you're used ta me bein' alot smaller than you?" She moved closer to him, curious.

"Mean you've gotta be older." He leaned down to the water and took a drink. "And i know the difference because i'm older." His herd had said the same thing. You had to earn it. He'd done it just barely and that was mostly because of who his father was.

She snorted, brow furrowing slightly. She was getting sick and tired of being told that she wasn't an adult and that she couldn't do things because of that. It was the same thing no matter which adult was saying it. "Is that what it will take for someone ta take me seriously? Ah'm not jus' some silly little girl... No matter what you or Da or Sedi says."

By her silence it could easily be assumed that she didn't like that one bit. She looked at her reflection in the stream. It was different. It was older... Then why wasn't she? "Ah guess that means Ah should leave you alone? Since Ah wanted ta talk ta you and, aparantly, doin' what Ah want instead o' what Ah've been told makes me a little girl."

Her eyes narrowed and she glared at him. "Stupid stallion. Are y'all lacking brains between those ears of yours? Must be. Maybe it's somethin' in th'water." She looked at the stream once more as if somehow she'd be able to see something floating in there that would explain why all males, except for maybe Dhar, were dumb.

He walked over to her and bumped her shoulder with his. "May be not thinking how you want me all the time but i'm defiantly not stupid." If he was stupid he wouldn't be so good at convincing others of what he wanted them to believe.
"Look at it this way. Not everyone fits into the little molds you built up around your family. Can't go around thinking everyone's like your dad or brothers or mother. I'm certainly not as .... well i'm defiantly nothing like your dad."

Her tail flickered behind her, eyes still starring at her reflection. "An' Ah know that everyones th'same as mah family. Rogue ain't nothin' like Momma and Dhar ain't nothin' like Sedi an' Bea." Alright. Maybe Dhar was a little bit like her brothers, but that was only because they were around the same age.

"Well then. Don't ask me what it is you have to do to not be a filly anymore. Since you're not any of the mares i've known before i can't tell you the answer to that." He chuckled as he leaned down to take another drink.

"Ah bet you know lots o' mares." She nickered softly as she moved away from the stream, heading back towards the soft grass that Nuka had been munching on. It looked very tempting and she was a little hungry. Maybe if she ate something she could forget about everything else and just be herself.

Although she might be young, she was far from foolish. She'd heard her brothers boasting about how many mares they would talk to and a boast was a boast no matter who it was coming from. "Then why ain't you talkin' ta one o' them... Stead o' wastin' your time talkin' to a filly like me?"

"Can't be talking to all of them all the time. If i was doing that then i'd never get time to myself." He loved girls alright but if he was stuck around them constantly then he'd just go insane.
Sometimes you just needed space to yourself to think and enjoy the sun and the sand and some fresh grass.
