Of course there are no blondes. No one carries any blonde hair genes within the Ava-verse. The world is based on the Asian Cultures and Blonde Hair simply doesn't exist in their genetic pool.

I'm personally glad that the Ava-verse has no blondes and is strictly themed with various Asian Cultures. It's very refreshing for me.

Actually we do but briefly.
Check out "The Tale of Toph" in the episode "Tales of Ba Sing Sei." In the very beginning we see Aang shaving his head.

It kinda reminded me of Krillin from DBZ.

I never noticed that before until you mentioned it. sweatdrop

It's interesting how they kept the Asian style to the show. It shows how much they got into creating ATLA.

Oh man.. for a history and cultural buff like me there are so many interesting things about Avatar. The show is PACKED with references to Cultural and Historical Asia. Absolutely PACKED! The Water Tribes also have really strong influence from the Inuit people of North America, Specifically, Canada.

The Air temples are styled after the Tibetan style.. Lake Lagolai was named after a infamous prison camp within China.. the Shakras are all real parts of buddhism..the calligraphy is real..the FireLord's thone strongly resmbles the baldacchino of St. Peter's basillica (I know, not oriental, but something I noticed)

Avatar is absolutely filled with cultural riches and it's worth studying.

Blondes in the Avatar world will be non-existent until technology advances far enough for the invention of hair dye. XD

Well. If non-crossbred bears are weird... think about blonde people.

They'd be shunned like hell XD

Egyptians invented it by using henna. 'Course, it would only come out the one color....The issue here would be how to get it blonde without destroying the hair.

Or, you know, someone could always make a wig and use light-colored horsehair, or use fur and dye it with saffron or something. *points at the ceiling dramatically* The possibility exists!

I've allways thought that the Air Nomads should've had blonde hair, instead of brown.
It just seems like it would suit them better. But then, I suppose the whole Asian theme needs tah' be upheld 3nodding

On another note, first post in this guild, WOO HOO!
