How many times had Cathy told Richard "Just let me freshen up first."
She snorted at Tommy bravado, "Oh yes your quite the wrym slayer Tommy. " She licked her chops again, there was a hungry look that had drifted into her eyes. "Lets see just grab me some rare steaks if you can. Do you need a bag?" She swallowed and smiled, fangs dripping wet with saliva. Richard looked almost giddy at the prospect of food. The tail lashed.

Tommy, not being a married man 'nor ever really had a serious relationship, didn't really know the saying too well. He grins wider as she finds at least some humor in what he said. That always made him feel better...but that look she had definately did not. He did his best to hide the creeping fear he was developing. "Um...nah, I...I think they've got some there. Don't worry though, I'll be back before you can say 'Holy steak tar tar, Batman.' Alright?"

Richard's stomach grumbled and churned. "Yes, yes." The joke flew right over her head, as food was the only thing on her mind at the moment. She sprung up and wobbled over to the door to open it for Tommy.

Tommy grinned as Richard litterally pushed him out the door...but once that door closed behind him the grin fell only to be replaced by a look of sheer terror. Those eyes...What had become of his friend? He...no...she...was different...acting weird...he shuddered, remembering that look in her eyes. He quickly set off for the chow hall, intent on getting the food Richard wanted before she got angry. He was just scared he wouldn't be able to set foot in that duplex again.

Richard distantly was aware that she was being somewhat over bearing but that could wait. Food was the first proity and she was grateful for the batman's offer of fetching her dinner.
She waited for Tommy's return impatiently, her own misery momentarly forgotten as she peered out her window, watching the crippled mutant drag himself towards the cafeteria. She mentally urge his to hurry up. If he looked back He would clearly see the green eyes watching him hungerily.

Tommy dumped out a wicker basket holding a variety of fruits to serve as a makeshift lunchpail for Richard. In it he wrapped quite a few large and juicy extremely rare steaks, enough so that she'll probably have a few left over. As he finished wrapping up the steaks, he cought himself mid act of licking the greasy blood off of his wing with a long, thin tongue. He shook his head and continued packing some things into the basket. After it was filled with a variety of meats, all extremely rare, quite a few bottles of water, a small bowl, and some silverware, he covered it with a large cloth napkin and headed out.
At first he tried carrying it in the crook of one wing...but it kept on pinching the sensative webbing so he had to pause. He ended up having to carry the basket in his mouth, razor-like teeth cutting deep grooves into the wicker, all the way to Richard's duplex. With a sigh, he balled up a wing and knocked on the door with his frail hand.

The door swung open before Tommy's wing could touch it. The loud purring sound likely reaching his huge ears before his brain could process the six foot tall cat thing tower over him. The change had no effected the wiring of her facial expression, she grinned just as should have several days ago, only now the grin contained nothing but glistening fangs awash in saliva. The nostrils flared as the scent of the steaks blossomed in her brain. Heavenly meat! Every brain cell seemed to rejoice with the thought. She licked both sides of her mouth and then inhaled sharply to prevent the drool from escaping from the muzzle.
She leaned over to take the basket from his mouth. "Thanks." she said with without take her eyes off the basket. It was almost an after thought.

Tommy let out a barely audible squeak as the door opened and purring sound reached his ears at about the same time he saw those glowing green eyes staring down at him. Echolocation blasted from Tommy as he fought to keep from bolting from under Richard's gaze...and that mouth...those teeth so white and pearly...those eyes so hungry...that look so deadly...please stop. Take my brain, turn it off...let me just fly away from this monster...this being designed for nothing but carnage and death. A being derived from the imaginative depths of the minds of gamers whose only role was to devour unwary players.
Tommy mentally slapped himself, much like Richard had done on multiple occasions, as he felt his mind start to slip back into that poisoned well. All of these thoughts showed on Tommy's face for a split-second before the facade was back up and the batman just smiled back. His long tongue rat itself over his teeth, trying to get the taste of wicker off of them. "Anytime, Richard..." he said with as much enthusiasm as he could muster.

Richard's single track mind didn't even notice Tommy's terror. She spun around with the basket in hand, her tail brushing Tommy's face for a moment as she moved deeper into the duplex. There was an actual spring in her step as the basket was placed on the desk. Hungry growls filled the air as the covering napkin was torn off with a swipe of the claws. She didn't bother with civilities the top steak was picked up with two clawed hands and bitten into with predatory relish. She ripped off a peice chewed no more than three times and swallow the peice.
It tasted so good! It was eating a little bit of heaven. The purring grew louder with every bite she comsumed, soon she finished the first and reached for the second. Her hands and muzzle were dripping with bloody juice.

Tommy flinched away from Richard as she spun around, lighting brushing his face with her tail. He just stood there, watching her eat with his mouth slightly agape. He didn't know what to do...could he just leave right now...make up an excuse...anything to get the hell away from Richard. He watched as the juices dribbled from her hands and maw...picturing his own mutilated body in place of the steak. His pulse raced, a pounding in his ears with every frantic beat of his heart. The echolocation sounded off almost constantly now, giving him a strobe-like silhouette of the monstrous image devouring the bloody meat.
"I...I've g...gotta go...need to um...pick up a uh...a box of blood for myself..." he stammered out as he stared at Richard's odd form. He didn't care about the facade anymore. He just wanted to get out. Get out now.

Tommy voice registered just as Richard was halfway though the second steak, and she look over at him still chewing on a bite of meat. She swallows and smiles. "Oh sorry, I'm being rude arn't I? Eating in front of you and all." The oddness of her behavior didn't even occur to Richard it felt completely normal to her. She had been so concerned about the feminine aspect of the transformation that the extent of the feline behaviors she was displaying. Still she was feeling far more rational now that she had food in her belly. And wanted to thank Tommy for bringing her the delicious food.
She dropped the meat back into the basket and went towards Tommy.

Tommy, still in the threshold of the doorway, had enough of his rational mind left not to just turn the perverbial tail and run. He still realized that this was his friend in front of him...even though those eyes...those dripping teeth...he mentally slapped himself again, trying to see the human underneath all of that. Tommy grinned nervously as Richard approached, fighting back the urge to crutch himself back a step or two. But a strange thing happened then...the heat sensors in his nose began picking up the pulsing veins in Richard's body...and he could tell through this the immense changes that had occured to his internal anatomy. And immediately all of the fear and apprehension melted away and Tommy just smiled genuinely at a friend of his who had gone through a horrible ordeal.
"Nah...it's alright...I know what it's like to be that hungry, heh...trust me. I'm just glad you're feeling better is all."

Richard dropped to all fours in a fluid motion and Tommy was suddenly confronted with that bloody muzzle. If she were human it might have occured to her to give Tommy hug but the feline behavors had siezed control of her brain, encouraged by the hunger. So that blood muzzle thrust forward and rubbed a scent gland against the side of Tommy's face as Richard said, "Thanks for coming."

Tommy frowned as Richard dropped to all fours, panic beginning to rise again...that was until he realized what she was about to do. The blood on her mouth wafted toward his enlarged nostrils, making him far less nervous as her feline head came closer to his own. He was expecting something...maybe a hug or something like that...but...a face rub? He pretended to accept it, all the while his mind reeled at the awkwardness of the entire situation.
"Heh...no problem, Richard...I'll always be here for ya" he said quietly, a slight smile on his face.

Richard withdrew and pulled herself to her feet, in a decidedly less graceful manner than dropping to all fours. She wobbled a bit, tail lashing for balance. Steading herself she nodded at the prone batman. "I'll see you around Tommy." Then she closed the door to finish her meal in private.
