"As do I," She said simply, watching as the leopardess climbed back up the tree. "Perhaps you are right, though. Perhaps there is evil in the world. But you know what? I choose not to believe it because life is so much more worth living that way. If I saw the evil within every creature, I would not see life the way I do, and I would feel danger lurking at every corner.

"But I don't. And I'm grateful for that. Because while it may be true that I'm simply being ignorant, at least my life isn't miserable."

She could tell that her words would have little impact, make little difference on the leopardess even as she said them. Her eyes were shadowed and she shook her head slowly, feeling sympathy for the cold leopard rising up inside her. But she was one. And it would take more than one to change Leswiswana's mind, so she would admit defeat this once, and leave it at that.

Turning, the green lioness slowly padded away from the tree. Perhaps some day they would meet again.
