Micah grumbled as he looked behind him. He'd left Jean back there so long ago, and he wasnt going back to hear the old stallion brag about being a father now.. 'Course, Micah was older than he, but what did that matter?
His eyes scanned the darkness, but they stopped, and rested among the stars. The moon..
All were lovely tonight, and he wasnt sure why they were so applealing. I mean, geez! How in the world could one night be so much prettier than the others?
Stopping, he raised his head. He had a feeling he'd be here for awhile.

Grencia was entirely unaware of the presence of others. He had often taken to perching upon this cliff face, choosing to call it his 'look out' post where he could continue to observe the plains below. He had come to the Kawani lands with a purpose after all and regardless of those he might meet, it could not be ignored - the consequences were not pleasant.
Nevertheless, releasing a small snort he flicked his gaze towards the beaches below and unfurled his wings. It was only to release the tension within the muscles but it was enough to reveal the 'dazzling' colours of the flight feathers hidden beneath - all the colours of the rainbow, or most at least.
"Mmph." He murmured softly, folding his wings once more and giving a shake of his mane. So far, there was no indication of any sign of life on the beaches below.

Cassie gulped as she looks at Qismah before following her. She had caught an scent of another stallion but decided to wait til after she met the pheonix stallion. She murrs nervously and looks at Qismah once again, as she says in her mind. "Just what does Qismah have planned???" She stayed close to her friend with a soft but nervous smile. "Qismah.... He is gorgeous... isn't he?" She said before looking at her friend, nearly bumping into the pheonix as they got closer.

(( sorry my reply is late. I was workign alot and barely had time to check messages ^^ wink )
Qismah paid no mind to Cassie's nervousness. She found it rather amusing and cute in a way. As she moved closer to the stallion on the cliff she caught the scent of another nearby stallion and smiled. Purposely she sent out a greeting neigh and wondered if he would respond to it and find them. It was at that moment the mysterious stranger on the cliff lifted his wings and before her was the most beautiful colors she had ever seen. She stopped and stood there in awe, admiring the rainbow glow in all its beauty, as if mesmerized by it.
It was only when he tucked his wings against his body she came back to reality and shook her head a moment. How did one gets wings like that?!? As a result Qismah had not seen Cassie pass her or heard her words and it was just then she saw Cassie nearly run into the stallion. Naturallly Qismah laughed out loud and trotted up to the two, grinning with a twinkle in her eyes, much like the stars above in the night sky. She was highly amused and wondered what would happen now that they had found someone else in the night.
She arched a brow, grin still plastered on her muzzle as she spoke to him, "So sorry about that. I guess she was so mesmerized by your wings she didn't think to stop before potentially running you off the cliff! " She moved to stand next to Cassie, and glanced down at the beaches and water below. "A lovely sight. What is it that you seek on such a night as this?"

Grencia had heard the pair approaching and luckily, as the mare nearly bumped into him he was able to shift slightly away to avoid an immediate collision. However, his reactions were deliberately slow...they were still smooth but he made little effort to react incredibly quickly in the sense that it may be taken as a hostile reaction.
Still, as he turned round fully to face the pair of mares, he furled his wings closer to his body and assessed each calmly. They seemed pleasant enough but regardless of his immediate reaction to both his expression remained unreadable - not so much out of a 'cold shoulder' but more due to Qismah's question.
...It was rather forward.
"I seek many things and find many from this vantage point." He replied vaguely, yet he did maintain his polite air as he accepted Qismah's apology with a gracious nod and flicked his emerald gaze towards the pink mare who had nearly 'knocked' him off the cliff.
"Are you quite alright?" He enquired, "You nearly received quite a bump."

Cassie looked at the stallion then at her friend with a smile, blushing gently. When she had heard the question that was directed towards her, she responded with nervousness in her voice. "I am alright, sir. I really didn't mean to bump into you. The wings are so beautiful.. like a radiant rainbow after a spring rain shower." She looked towards her friend nervously and then slowly backed away. She whispered softly, "I am Cassie, sir." She liked his forwardness that seems to steep within him.

Qismah arched a brow curiously at the stallion. "Many things such as? Or is that something you prefer to keep to yourself? "She of course noticed his reaction and had decided to ask the second question so as to respect his possible need for privacy. It was after all not her business or concern, she was just curious. He was polite enough and seemed nice. A well mannered stallion which was something her father had taught her to respect. He certainly was one of the most interesting soquili she had come across but she did not doubt she would meet many more equally as unique.
Qismah watched Cassie who seemed to be nervous and even took a step back. "Oh Cassie he's not going to bite you." She chuckled. "She's a bit shy so it may take her a bit to warm up to you. I don't think she has ever seen a soquili quite so different and unique looking. Come now Cassie. No reason to be nervous.

"I would prefer not to discuss them." He replied dutifully, arching his neck in the process. It wasn't that he was forbidden to discuss his duties but he would prefer to avoid the panic at all cost. From his time here, he had come to realise that the majority of the females were rather delicate - what he was expected to do was not for their ears.
Even so...
"Oh I do not know," He spread out a wing to examine his rather colourful flight feathers and shook his head, "Have you any guarantee that I will not dine on you this eve?" He enquired, his tone completely deadpan despite the twinkle of mischief in his eyes. Clearly, he might have been a polite stallion but there were times when he knew that jesting was the best way to calm the nervous down.
...Now seemed like the right time.
"Ah and do forgive me, many refer to me as Grencia."

Cassie turned to look at Qismah before looking at the stallion. She chuckled nervously due to his tiny little joke that he had made. She was alittle calmer than before. She looked up into his eyes and saw the mischief that was spreading deep in his eyes. She smiled gently and steps closer to him. "I like your name, Grencia... What does it mean?" She asked while tilting her head questionly.
She had never been so nervous when meeting a stallion before in her life. Maybe it was something about him that she was abit scared of. It wasn't anything bad that she was scared of.. more like his politeness and his kindness. She watches in awe as he spread out his wings. "They are so very beautiful, Grencia. I bet the sun make them sparkle even more in the daylight. I rarely go out in the daylight only simply because I feel like I don't belong with other soquilis.. They wouldn't understand me and my love for the stars.

Qismah looked at Grencia inquiringly a moment before letting a large grin take over her face. "Dually noted and respected. " She was very curious as to what he was looking for but her father had always taught her to respect the privacy of others and to never ever pry into what was not her concern, especially if they preferred not to speak about it.
Qismah laughed at Grencia's playful comment. "Well I am quite certain if you were to intend such barbaric an act you would have done so already. You are neither kalona, nightmareor skin walker so you do not strike me as the carnivorous type. " Mischief twinkled in her own eyes and she noted Cassie's nervous laugh. "Or do you like to play with your food before eatting it?" She implied her own jest to add to his. she never turned down a chance at some fun.
"A pleasure Grencia. My name is Qismah." Qismah turned to look at Cassie. "uh oh be careful, she might ask you or a few colorful feathers for her mane and tail if she takes a liking to them." Of course she was only teasing Cassie but then the thought of rainbow feathers on the mare was a pleasing one.

Grencia allowed the 'play' comment to drop as he continued to listen to the pair. I was only after a few moments of consideration however, that he recalled something that might be of benefit to them both - if they liked the colour of his feathers then why not...
"My name means 'Burning Desire', clearly my mother was in a world of her own when she named me." He replied at last, offering a wry smile although the warmth in his eyes clearly indicated that he loved the mare. Granted, she had often been a worry wart but all the same, she was his mother.
"As for my feathers -" He hesitated briefly to nudge at the feathers experimentally and appeared to come to the conclusion that they were not 'ready' yet. "If she likes them so much, they will be part of a treasure hunt taking place in a few days...you are most welcome to join in if you would like the prize." He mused at last, his ears swivelling at the slightest of sounds behind him.
"You do get to keep them after all...A friend and I thought that it would be nice to hold a social event. A chance to meet new soquili so to speak, as we have been strangers to the land for a while."

Cassie smiled at the true meaning of his name and nodded softly. "Do you have a desire, Grencia? Maybe your mother knew something you didn't. After all, our mothers tend to know more than their own child." She saw the warmth in his eyes, liking them. She had often wonder herself if she would ever find such warmth in someone's eyes.
She gasped when she heard Qismah's words as her cheeks darkened quickly, trying to find the right words. After she finally found the right words, she smiled shyly once again, "They are your feathers, sir... You don't have to give me any if you chose not to do so..." She then watch him nudge his wings then shot a playful glare at Qismah, knowing what the mare is planning.
Cassie looks at Grencia while tilting her head once again, "A social event? Treasure Hunt?" She dared not to make thoughts before looking at Qismah once again. "Um.. Um.. " She felt her nervousness was coming back as she swallowed a gulp, "I'll think about it, sir. I.. I am not too good at treasure hunts." She had to say something.. It wasnt exactly a lie but it would have to do for now. She stomped her foot lightly on the wet grass, looking towards the horizon then to the sky as if she was trying to make a wish for her to calm down since it wasn't a family gathering.. just a meeting of friends.

"Burning Desire" Qismah repeated the words and then smiled. "Well it suits you, but I must ask, what desire do you burn for? Surely there must be a personal meaning behind your name. Perhaps she meant for you to discover your own desires and honored you with a name to remind you someday you might want to consider them." He seemed to be the type of soquili that would honor others before himself. She respected that in him but a part of her wondered if he ever gave into the things he wanted as well or did he only exist to serve others? She chuckled as Cassie added her own comments that reflected her own.
Qismah's eyes lit up at the mention of a treasure hunt. "Oh that sounds like so much fun! I am sure she and I would be delighted to partake in such a fun event. After all we are out this evening for a social reason. Like you we do not know many others, and it would be nice to meet others and make new friends." She smiled warmly, excited as she danced on her hooves in place. "Actually, to be honest, I just met the lovely Cassie tonight. " Her ears perked as she heard Cassie's interest in the event. Right on cue. She knew Cassie would be up for it with a little prodding, even if she was nervous.
