Thank GOD! Customers!

"If there's anything I can do for you, let me know!" Naida chirps, immediately snapping to attention as the paperwork is flung underneath the counter. "The manager isn't here at the moment, so please direct all questions, comments, and complaints to me."

She seems EXTREMELY relieved to finally have someone IN THE SHOP.

Faevan looked up from her paper, blowing the steam off her coffee and looking at the woman over her paper.

"What was that? Sorry, I couldn't hear you." She raised an eyebrow at the woman. She hated seeming rude, but she heard absolutely nothing when she was reading.

Naida seemed to literally wilt.

"Nothing... nothing at all. Enjoy your coffee, ma'am."

Don't disturb the customers. Don't disturb the customers! An undisturbed customer is a happy customer, and money is money. That is the way of the shopkeep!

If not for fear of scaring off other potential customers, Naida would've struck a campy pose reserved only for Power Rangers reruns.

Pink having thought it was a great night to thoroughly walk around the port town did and landed herself smack dab infront of a quaint little coffeehouse. This looked like just the spot to meet some of the new people she had just moved in with.

She opened the door and walked in looking all around. She spotted a pretty young woman hunched over a paper and a coffee in the corner.

She walked up to the counter and smiled at the young lady behind it. "Hello." She spoke softly and with much lilt in her voice. "I'm new around here."

"Aren't we all?" Naida returns, her voice slightly wistful. "What'll it be, miss?"

Two customers in one day? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Victory!

Faevan watched as the woman's composure dimmed, and folded her paper under her arm, moving closer. Once she was next to the woman, she placed her coffee on a nearby table, extending her hand.

"Hello, I'm Faevan. I just moved to Port Gino recently. Pleased to meet you." She offered a friendly smile held her hand in front of her, hoping to cheer her up some. She didn't want to make any enemies here.

"Faevan." Naida repeats the name, nodding to herself as she commits it to memory. "I hope to see you around here again, Ms. Faevan."

She suddenly straightens. "Oh! I'm Naida Johansson. Forgive me for not introducing myself a few minutes ago, when it would've been more appropriate." She laughs nervously. "And I'm a little spastic; we don't get much business here, as you can see."

Pink smiled, "Um...Do you have Carmel Apple Cider? I'm not much of a coffee person, never an aquired taste for me."

She then turned to the young woman who used to be sitting in the corner, but was now next to her and shook her hand, "Nice to mee touy Faevan, My name is Pink, and I guess we all just moved her, huh?" She said with a little laugh.

A pause. "...I'm pretty sure we have apple cider since it's almost the holidays, but I'm not entirely sure about the caramel. Do you mind waiting while I check the back?"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 01, 2004 8:48 pm

"Noooo Problem, and you only have to check in the back if its not too much trouble, don't want anyone running around on my behalf." She said with a smile.

Faevan took Pink's hand.

"So you're new too? What brought you here?" Faevan seated herself by the counter as Nadia scurried off, ready to strike up a friendly conversation with the new patron.

Naida nearly dives into the backroom, completely nullifying any inklings that she might possibly be a ninja.

As she digs around for caramel or artificial flavoring that might resemble caramel to the untrained taste buds, the clatter of dozens of plastic bottles being violently rearranged can clearly be heard from within the coffeeshop itself.

Pink sat down at one of the stools surrounding the bar and thought to herself. Well she came here to get away from her old life of ruin and garbage...but she couldn't tell this nice lady that.

"Just a change of scernery I suppose."

Snorting to herself in her mind, it was a change of scenery, you know, anything different than a dingy street corner was a good change in scnery as well...

"What about you?"

"Me?" Faevan repeated, looking wistful for a moment. "I guess you could say I'm running away from my old life." She quirked her lips into a red painted smile. "Old flames are hard to douse, I suppose, and all that tortured artist rubbish." Faevan sipped her coffee. " And I wanted somewhere nice for my children to grow up."

Faevan rummaged through her carry bag, handing a small business card to Pink.

"That's my shop, right down the street." She beamed. She had just printed those cards that morning, and was happy to be distributing them finally.

Phew, this woman was running from something too. Maybe she would be able to tell her the truth first. She mentally hit herself. Stop jumping into things so fast, it will get you into trouble. You just met this woman! she thought to herself. She would take one step at a time, meeting came first, then friendship, and lastly, if it came at all, secret time.

Pink smiled as she looked at the card. She opened up her pink purse and slipped it in. "Why thank you, I will have to stop by. I was thinking about starting a buisness as well, even spending so much time with my kids and in my large house, it can get lonely, a little buisness might do me some good."
