For it's a tie for the first two. As long as I know what it says- I could go either way. But sometimes I hate how they have a scene with lots of signs and they just write the translation off to the side. THen the how screen becomes cluttered with a mix of Japanese and English.

It depends on whether said sign is part of the plot or not. For example, something reading "Sushi Store" wouldn't need to be translated as we'd see the characters in the restaurant a moment later, but if for whatever reason the reading is important it's nice to have it changed.

I think if they have something in a subtitle form saying what the sign or book says then it's fine. I would like to know what signs, and books say. If they don't I guy I don;t care to much but it's nice.
