Curling his tail over his muzzle, he watched her for a few silent moments. Everything seemed so serene. Nothing was out of place, and everything that had haunted him constantly for months was drifting away upon the water, leaving him with nothing but a sense of peace.
"Thank you . . . "
His eyes drifted closed of their own will as exhaustion hauled him away from consciousness. No ghosts of the past wailed at him, or lunged from the shadows of his mind to chase him ceaselessly. No voices, or memories, or feelings assailed him.
He simply slept.

Ravii sat quietly by the lakeside, looking like a ghost amongst the mist. She stayed quiet as Occam murmured his thanks, though a smile washed throughout her soul and heart. She was quite pleased with the way things had turned out, regardless of their tense beginning moments.
Life was surely full of twists and turns - and though he'd bared his teeth at her earlier, curled up and fast asleep he was harmless. A new friend to look out for, a new friend to call her own.
Ravii so did like making friends. Perhaps Occam might not see her in such a light, but it mattered not to the shewolf. She considered the dark furred wolf with the broken heart pattern a friend, and anything else mattered little.
The shewolf waited in silence for another twenty minutes before deciding it was best to take her leave. She needed sleep herself. Looking over her shoulder, she smiled at the peaceful one. "Sweet dreams," she blessed him softly, hoping that he did indeed dream of beautiful and wonderful things.
Rising to her feet, the cream and violet splashed wolf turned and headed back in to the comfort of the woods. Dawn would be fast approaching, and sleep was finally beginning to blurr her senses. The sooner she returned to her corner of the world, the sooner she too could drift amongst the pleasant dreams that waited.
