That would so suck to be buried alive O.o
Even if she was a dirt bag...I felt bad for pablo....well..he was a dirt bag as well..killing that old man.
I figured that they would die though...when they first made an appearnce...'cause well there was no room for them in the main character list.
Like..when Arte came on..he died a eps or two after...the same for them. Anyone who shows up now is destined to die...which kinda sucks..because well thats so predictable.

Viva la Boone.

Hmm... Paulo was all right, but Nikki, my god, someone slap her. I'm glad they got burried alive though cause I didn't like how they just popped up in the show and so far they have no real significance to anything in the show that I can see. Plus, they're not even in the actual plane crash footage from season 1. I checked.
Next week looks promising. Kate and Juliet have it out in a Battle Royal over Jack (who really isn't worth it, if you ask me). I bet Kate will kick Julie's a**.

Being buried alive is probably one of my personal worst fears, I mean, when she opened her eyes last second but they still buried her- AGHHHHHHHHHH!! D; too...creepy..... not being able to move, having the weight of at leats 20 punds on you, and being suffocated by dirt at the same time? I have to agree that Being buried alive is the WORST way to die. But i do agree that they kinda asked for it.
though I have to disagree with your theory oabout the joing of the new cast. I mena, look at desmond, he's still alive isn't he? I still see many possibilities for new characters out there. ~

I kind of figured they'd die, but I didn't like the ending. I don't think that the plot line benifited from their death at all... hell I don't think they should have really been introduced in the first place, all they did was die, before ever contributing anything to the show.
*shrug*
I liked the show up until they died, I think their deaths were just so... pointless(just like the characters sweatdrop )

A friend and I were talking about Lost today and she pointed out how Locke had told Paulo earlier on in the episode that buried things don't stay buried on that island. So I don't think they're gonna die. No matter how much I don't like them. Cause it's Lost. ♪ Don't You (Forget About Me) ~ Simple Minds

If that really is the end of Nikki and Paulo, I think that was the most pointless episode ever. Especially after all the excitement and big reveals from last week.
It was sort of a journey into the old Lost days where we learned a different character's history every week, but before they always entertwined it with something relevant in the present. I.e. Why is there a suitcase of guns? Oh yeah, Kate was enjoying time with a federal marshall. And then the guns end up being really important.
They did a similar thing before with Rose and Bernard popping in and then disappearing, but at least that still revealed something about the island and its healing properties. And at least it was a different story. There are already enough con artists in this story I think.
I can only hope that the writers redeem the episode by having Nikki and Paulo be a little more relevant in the future by coming back to life...and doing something useful for once!!

Even though it was essentially a filler, that was one of my favorite episodes of the season! I heard that the writers wanted to get rid of Nikki and Paulo because fans didn't like them randomly popping up in the show (and I must admit, I didn't either) but I'm not completely sure if that's true or not.
But wow, being buried alive would suck.___&!

Wednesday's episode was interesting...kinda dull though. I don't like how the preview last week made it seem like it was an important episode. Don't get me wrong, fillers aren't bad things. But I was expecting something...more...It's like I read on a website that reviewed the episode; "Who the hell are Nikki and Paolo?" (or something like that)
About the fact they were less-than minor characters in the show and had no importance, I think that was the point. LOST always seems to be about the main characters and we never really see any minor characters. We all know that there's a lot more survivors than the ten or so that we keep hearing from. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Claire, Charley, Desmin, Hurley, Sun, Jin, and all the other ones I didn't name aren't the only ones who lived through the plane crash.
And, as far as importance goes, Shannon was far from useful. Honestly, I had completely forgotten she existed until I saw her in the flashback this week. (Although I did cry for Sayid when she died). And I didn't like her when she was alive. She pranced around in her bikini, didn't care about anyone else, and was a complete and total b***h (forgive me if swearing isn't allowed in this guild; this is my first post). I guess what I'm saying is that they're not as bad as some other characters that were focused on.
And, about the characters themselves, I hate Nikki. All she cared about was the diamonds. She only "cared" about Paolo because she had needed him to get the diamonds. I personally know someone who's a lot like that in the real world, and I can't stand to see that going on. Paolo wasn't as bad though. I felt bad for him 'cause he loved Nikki and she's just a whore. I thought he was doing the right thing by hiding the diamonds. They didn't belong to the couple in the first place.
One more thing before I wrap up this rant: I have mixed feelings about Sawyer in this episode. I liked how when Nikki demanded a gun he didn't give it to her, cause he could tell why she wanted it. But I don't like how he kept part of the mystery hidden because he figured something good was in it.

I wouldn't have a problem with minor characters, if they were introduced as minor characters. But they weren't. They were major characters. They went in the main character category. Therefore, they must relate to the plot. And they didn't.
Most of our MAIN characters rarely relate to the plot, but they've all done it. Even Shannon at least helped translate the French, was supposed to care for Vincent for Walt, and was killed by Ana-Lucia. So you see what I mean? Whereas, Nikki and Paulo didn't, but we're supposed to have the same status.
Then they retconned the hell out of this episode. Oh look! NIKKI AND PAULO WERE EVERYWHERE YOU WANTED TO BE! What a lovely pair of Mary-Sues. Hell, Paulo even knew about Ben and Juliet's Jack-napping plan with Michael as the lynchpin. And yet he said nothing. I mean, I know they figured it out, but only because Michael was practically running around with a sign that read, "I AM UP TO NO GOOD!" I mean, maybe Libby and Ana wouldn't have died.
Not to mention, we were promised they would DO things and ask questions. And... well, they didn't, did they? And then they died.
Oh, and for the record, the Promo monkeys always make EVERY episode out to be the MOST IMPORTANT EPISODE EVER OMG SARSLY. Never trust the promos.
I loved that Nikki was a slimeball. That was great. I love it when women act like crappy people, cause you know, we so are sometimes, and when all we see in movies and TV are what great people women all are, it rankles. Equality!

I liked how when Nikki demanded a gun he didn't give it to her, cause he could tell why she wanted it. But I don't like how he kept part of the mystery hidden because he figured something good was in it. But that's just what Sawyer's like. If he is in a situation he is going to do the thing that benefits him the most. If he sees that he can get something out of a situation, he's going to try to get it. That's how Sawyer is. It's how he's always been. Yes, he's gotten slightly less like that over time, but he's still like that. If he stopped doing that completely he wouldn't be Sawyer anymore.
