Kari started, her heart skipping a beat at the strange and shrill cry of the bird above them. She had not been expecting it, and Hasidi being startled only made it more startling to her.
"I've never heard those kind of birds before," she shivered, and followed along closely with him, "Are they always that loud, you think?"

He hadn't expected her to be too shaken by the bird's cry, he moved closer to her in a protective manner, "always that loud, I've seen them around lakes and ponds, but these look a little different." He bobbed his head and walked a little slower glancing around him incase something was to come from the grass.
"You alright..?"

Kari looked up at the sky to see if anything else was coming to screech at them. Hopefully now that she heard one it wouldn't be so surprising to hear such a thing again- especially now they knew to expect it.
"I'm fine, it just surprised me a little," she smiled at him and picked up the pace a bit- not as worried about things coming from the grass. She slowed down when she was almost to the point of leading, hoping to pick up the pace a bit again. She turned and smiled at him.

He bobbed his head again in the same gesture and slightly picked up his pace, it hurt is pride to see her move faster. Something about men being stronger than women. But after all, she was a cheetah and all cheetahs went fast. Shairi had told him that.
"I'd like to see you run one day.." he caught himself saying very surprised and stopped in his tracks.." I just.."

Kari did not see it as an ego issue when she picked up the pace, merely trying to get him to follow suit after slowing down a bit more after they were frightened by the bird. She was caught off guard with his comment, smiling.
"Really now?" she giggled, "Why?"

"Shairi said that cheetahs were very fast creatures, and I know that I am a slow one, I would like to see you run, see how fast you move," he made a motion like a shrug and continued to walk his eyes the whole time locked on her. "Besides..I um..like the way your muscles look when you move.." he blushed furiously, his boldness, or rather courage, seemed to progressively improve the more they got away from the Duma'bara lands.
"Sea here we come," The red lion chuckled under his breath.

"It's true, I suppose, cheetahs are known for being fast. And if I'm nothing else, I am pretty quick," she admitted. Kari might not be very strong or brave, but she was built to be fast. When he commented on her muscles she only beamed over at him brightly, smiling. "We'll have to get in a demonstration sometime then," she announced, forgetting how she'd been feeling slower lately.
"Onward," she added with a laugh of her own, and waited for Hasidi to resume the walk before she did.

He flashed a knowing smile at her as she mentioned a demonstration and stepped forward slightly, one more glance at her, and they started on his way fully, trying to keep a good pace. He wasn't going to allow his limp to get in the way of his destination, and never would.
"To the sea my love, to our...smelly..future?" He chuckled.
