Rosemary landed in the mouth of the cave leading in. This entrance was not covered with anything to prevent strangers from entering, but it was high enough up the mountain that most wouldn't look for the entrance of a den. If they did find it, the Battle Aena would be all they'd find for another slab of rock blocks the Arena from the grand Hollow.
Looking back to see that the others were following, Rosemary walked into the room on all fours, flying to Rowan's side as soon as she was freed of the confined space of the tunnel.
"So, who shall fight?" Rowan asked.
Me and the Male European. Rosemary grumbled in reply, watching where Poke's Kyns were going to soon come in at. Edoc'sil was excited, Zephyr shifted from paw to paw. Eclipse's tail thumped the ground hard, making quite a big noise for something covered with fur.
(Now, pn what conditions do you accept for this fight? I do not want to shed any blood, I want Rowan riding Rose, and I want no magic in order to preserve this room. You?)

((umm, I really don't have any other conditions for this fight ^^; I was thinking that originaly it would be taku fighting rosmary, but since I can't use magic then I'll use toroth XD))
The group were soon to follow rosmary into the cave, with taku and poke leading while toroth was behind them. But as soon as they had taken their place on the other side of the room, Taku had noticed something; rosmary was not looking to impressed.
"poke..." he wispered to her as she was checking her staff, which was her chosen battle weapon. "I don't think that I'm the opponent they are expecting to fight..."
"huh?" she looked up at their opponents, and by their expressions she was led to believe the same thing..
"And, weren't we not allowed to use magic in this room?" He wispered again. Now it was her turn to make the face, as magic was an important part of their strategy in battle. There was also the fact that she had never battled with a eruopean dragon before, much less one who could still be considered a feral in many cases.
"What should I do? I've never used toroth in a battle before." she wispered back to taku.
"well..it would be a interesting challenge. And wouldn't toroth be more used to not using magic then I would?"
"thats assuming he's ever fought another dragon" she swung her leg over and dropped off her mount, before walking over to toroth who was sitting comfortably. This was gonna be interesting...
"hmm..Shouldn't you be getting ready for the battle?" he asked. He raised an eye at his rider when she jumped onto his head.
"I should be asking you the same thing, change of plans" she wispered into his ear.
"Wait- what?"
"just go!" The eruopean slowly got up and took taku's place on the field, looking mildy confused. Wasn't he just here to watch the lunar fight rose?

As Rowan mounted Rosemary barebacked -she absolutely hated saddles- she noticed Poke getting off the Lunar and climbing onto the European.
"You sure they planned for the European to fight? I seemed that had decided otherwise."
It's common sense isn't it? I obviously have a advantage over Lunars. How is he going to attack me when I can attack him when I want, stay out of reach when I need to recover? You ever seen a flying Lunar before? Well, Rosemary did speak some logic.
"No, not really." Rowan admitted. She took her seat at Rosemary's shoulder, where her neck joined the rest of her body. Her wings kept her from slipping back, and she had a secure hold of Rosemary's neck, which she held onto tightly as the European took off. Rose left her bow and quiver on the ground, as an arrow would do little against a dragon's tough hide.
When rose had first grown big enough to ride, she had pestered Rowan to get a taste of flying. Ro had been reluctant at first, but Rose's persistent teasing finally made Rowan give in. That first flight had been very painful, her muscles hurt from holding on so tightly, and parts of the skin on her leg had been rubbed off. But still, she enjoyed it.
Now, Rowan never hesitated to take a ride with Rosemary. She loved their flight together, and soaring above the ground sparked something within Rowan, almost a longing for something lon lost. but she wasn't sure what it was.
"You ready?" Rowan called out to Poke and her Kyn.
Well I am. Rose grinned, the tip of her tail flicking back and forth.
"Just don't be too overconfident, you haven't fought anything much more ferocious then a deer before."
Oh shut it.

Toroth was doing some fast thinking here. How was he supposed to fight a female european dragon? sure he had some scuffles before, but that was with other male dragons over food. He could hurt this female here (or, he would be the one gettign hurt; never mess with women and their hatchings he was always told). Plus she also had feathery wings instead of scales. Those wouldn't last long under a hot flame breath...wait, was fire considered magic?
He kept himself firmly on the ground, not bothering to take to the air. His rider was standing on his head and holding onto one of his horns for balance.
"Yup, we are ready! start of anytime!"

Almost before Poke could finish her sentence, Rosemary angled her wings for a steep dive at the European. Rowan cried out in alarm and grabbed hold of Rosemary's neck tightly, her knees clamping around her side to keep herself in place.
How should we determine the winner? How about...the first rider to fall off? Rosemary extended her thoughts so that Poke and her Kyns could hear it.
"What? But I have no saddl--" Rowan cried out but shut her eyes as Rosemary was near the European. Sweeping over Toroth's head, she battered him with wind from her down strokes as she regained altitude again. They had agreed for no blood to be shed, so doing this was going to be tricky. Circling from above, Rosemary waited for the dust to settle in order to see the effects of her move.

It was a little disturbing to have her kyn's voices in her head, but it was even more weird to have someone elses voice in her head. Poke always thought that when that happened that they could read her mind, and then her brain would usualy snap to the first most inappropiate thing that it could think of
Ahh, sure thing She she began, but then she had dived towards them.
Toroth however, had simple ducked low to the ground when rose dived, the wind mearly a sharp breeze that ruffled his wings. Poke wasn't to pazed either, having a tight grip on his horns.
"don't follow" she mumbled to his ear.
"Yeah I gotcha". They sat there and waited for rose to come to them again.

"Don't-do-that-without-telling me!" Rowan growled at Rose, who merely rolled her eyes. Rowan's heart was pounding hard and making her dizzy. Diving from so high, she though she was gonna go splat and was doomed, doomed I tell you! DOOMED!
Um...yeah...sorry about that...um...uh...
Gathering her courage again, Rowan looked as the dust settled again. Toroth and Poke seemed perfectly fine, though their reluctance to take to the air was confusing Rowan. Aren't they giving her and Rose an advantage? Rosemary continued to circle overhead, the beat of her wings a rhythmic sound that filled the entire room.
Shall we try that again? Rose asked. Rowan shook her head.
"No. They're too low down. If you're not careful, you'll get grounded."
Like I'm stupid enough to do that. But Rose took Ro's advice anyways and kept on circling, keeping a close eyes on the Rider and Kyn below.
Now what? I can't keep at this forever. You're not the lightest thing in the world you know.
"Patience..." Rowan considered their situation for a moment before carefully telling Rose:
"I have an idea..." But it's a bit risky.
The two discussed it over and added to it, and finally slowly descended, watched Toroth and Poke carefully. The Male was much larger then Rose, but that would just make this a lot easier. Rowan prepared to hang on tightly, and Rose was soon flying overhead at about only 10 meters.
Now?
"Now!" Rosemary banked downwards sharply and extended her back claws, angling herself at Toroth. But she passed Poke and his head, and soon came to land...
On the European's back. The thing was, if Toroth was going to shake them off, Rosemary can easily fly away from danger. But the motion that Toroth would create could very well shake off Poke, who was on his great head.

"exactly what are they doing now?" toroth wondered out loud. Poke could only shrug. Then they suddenly dived again, except that they had past poke and his head, and it seemed that now..Rose was on taku's back.
"Hey! shouldn't be the one on top?" Toroth said. Poke groaned.
It was a interesting posistion, but poke did have an idea...
"Toroth, make like a dog and roll over" she whispered.
"I'll roll over, but I'm not acting like a dog". Since they wouldn't be able to just shake her off, they would use toroth's size to their advantage. However this wouldn't be such a simple manevur for such large creatures..
Poke literly hung off toroths horns, her tail wrapped around the bone for extra security as toroth closed his wings around his waist and literaly fell onto the ground. However they would not be able do a full roll due to their size and shape, as well as the extra weight was making it harder for toroth to move properly.

Well, Poke wasn't off, but at least they tried. Rosemary was already coiled up for flight moments before Toroth rolled over, and was in the air the moment he started his maneuver.
That's when they struck.
Angling her wings, Rosemary quickly flew to Toroth's head and stuck her own neck underneath his jerking her great triangular head upwards. Carried by the momentum of his swing, Toroth would not have been able to brace himself for this...now would he have?
The whole time Rowan held on tightly, her arms wrapped around Rose's neck. the red European was tiring she could tell. Rose wasn't very large yet, though her pride would never allow her to admit it.
Following the upwards jerk, Rosemary used some of the strongest muscles a European posses -the ones in her chest that controls her flight- and raised her wings, driving them downwards to create a circle of wind underneath her and she darted from underneath Toroth's neck and ascended. Turning around, she watched if the combined shaking had thrown the other rider off.

At the momemnt, the greatest problem poke had was trying to figue out which way was up and which way was down.
As toroth was about to hit the ground, it appeared that rose had tried to jerk his neck upwards. And while toroth wasn't prepared for it, The move had only manged to cause him to move his neck backwards, and fall over in a very awkawd position.
"I think I cracked my neck there..." Toroth managed to manevour his body back up to the standing position, flexing his neck muscles as the creaked in disapproval. It was then he remembered he had his rider somewher eon his head. "oh, poke. Are you still up there?"
"barely..." Said rider groaned back as she still clung off the horns on his head. Although now she was quite dizzy, and her hair had the most amazing style... "okay, stuff the ground approach, lets get off the ground and attack them directly"
Their original plan had been to stay on the ground, as being in the air would make it harder for toroth to stay at one level, and the more twisting and turing he did, the more poke would have to be put in awkward situations and cause her to lose her grip faster. However being on the ground was proving to be just as planned.
"now then...got a plan?" he asked. When poke shook her head he grinned. "Oh well, it doesn't matter cause I do. Just hold on, and cover your ears"
He waited untill rose was nearer to him as she circled, and he used his back legs to push him off the ground and into flight. His rider had barely managed to crawl down from his horns and onto his neck where she did her best to hold on as well as keep her hands over her ears. Very hard to do.
When he was just a few wingbeats from rose and her rider, Toroth opened his wings up more to slow him down in mid air. He opened his large mouth, long sharp teeth glistening in their sockets, and roared at the top of his lungs.
A dragons roar could be heard from miles away, yet he was doing such in a small space, the sound richosheing off the walls. Hopefully this would have provided a good distraction for them, either scaring them half to death or allowing them to cover his ears. At the end of his roar he urged his body and wings to fly him forwards in a attempt to use his long neck to do the same thing rose had done to him not long ago; aim it directly under hers, and jerk it upwards in hopes it would send her off balance.

Before I explain what Rose and Rowan were doing, perhaps I should inform you of the Lunar's problems.
As the roar bounced off the walls, both Lunars howled in surprise and flattened their ears against their head. the noise and pain was lessened, but it hurt nonetheless. Lunars had the keenest hearing of all the Kyns, which is a downfall in certain situations. Zephyr finally laid down with his rear end still in the air and covered his face with his paws.
Stop that! Came his annoyed thought to all the living things in the area. Eclipse was equally pained, but working his Dark magic, he shrouded himself in a black smoke. the sound was filtered through it and was less intense, and Eclipse ignored Zephyr's whining.

Rowan winced and ducked, burying her head as much into rose's hide as she could. Her ears hurt, but not much more then when Rose, Clip, and Zeph all lined up every night and just made noise in general. Howling for the two lunars, a nice big roar for the European. It seemed to be instinctive, as the three never knew why they did it, only that they needed to. Rowan thinks that it's probably just to warn other Kyns to stay away from their territory.
Rosemary snarled at the roar, as the sound shook the whole cave. As she was distracted by trying to make the sound less painful, it was too late when she finally realized what Toroth was going to do.
Considering the fact that Toroth was much larger then rose, what happened wasn't too surprising.
He didn't send her off balance, he threw her across the room. Not across the entire room, but far enough that the two were slammed into the nearest wall.
Rosemary's left wing hurt, where Toroth had hit the hardest. It was throbbing at the shoulder and she found flight difficult. She also smashed into the wall on that wing. The shock numbed more then just a few of Rowan's limbs. As Rosemary struggled to get back upright in the air, her turbulent movements caused Rowan to loose her grip.
As Rosemary reared back, Rowan suddenly found everything rushing past her very quickly, like one of Rose's steep dives. Oh boy the ground was coming up pretty fast...
Good thing Rosemary reacted quickly. Suddenly feeling the weight off her back, she dived and propelled herself forward, snapping open her wings and allowing Rowan to land roughly on her back at the very last second. It wasn't a very soft landing, and Rowan swear she broke a major bone somewhere. But forcing herself to crawl back to her position on Rosemary's shoulder, she grimaced.
Don't scare me like that again! rosemary snapped, and Rowan was dully aware of concern and fear emanating through their bond.
"Sorry." Rowan mumbled.

Well, they both knew dragons were strong. But what they didn't know was that they were that strong.
Toroth kept himself levl as he watched the female being thrown accross the room, knocked into the wall, and then her rider get disloged. He could feel pokes panic at the way that rosmay had just barely caught their rider. They quickly dove down to the floor again so they could check the condition of their opponent. They didn't want anyone to get serioulsy hurt here.
"woah! rowan are you alright?" poke shouted from the top of her kyns head as she tried to get a glimpse of her on rose's back. Said kyn was trying not to smile to much.
"I'm sorry about that manevur there..." he started. "I guess I don't know my own strength.."
On the other side of the field, toroth was still trying to get his ears to stop ringing form the loud roar from before. He had used his light magic to create orbs that snuggled over his ears, but it still didn't block out all the sound

Rowan nodded at Poke's question, unsure if sher could hear her.
"Yeah, I'm alright!" She called out, though her voice was shaky. Through their bond, Rowan could feel a steady throbbing in Rosemary's left shoulder and she winced at the fact that she couldn't help the Kyn feel any better. Rose felt her remorse and snapped at her:
I'm not a hatchling anymore. Quit your worrying. Rowan smiled at patted Rose on the neck. What other reply did she expect? Rosemary landed with a hard thump and told Rowan:
You're as heavy as a boulder. I can't keep airborne for much longer. It was just her way of saying that her wings hurt.
You don't have too. If you think we're pushing you too hard we can always just end the fight.
What give in?
Well...
Humph, I'll never do that! Driving her wings downwards, Rosemary rose back into the air. Rowan shook her head, ah rose. How on earth did Rowan end up with Rose? It's not a bad thing, but fate does seem keen on jokes. How much more different can she get from her Kyn?

While their opponents were airborn again, poke was again left to wonder
"umm..wasn't the conditions of the fight that the first person to fall of their kyn would lose?" she mumbled to toroth
I'm pretty sure they were..but I don't mind continuing this fight..
"what?! oy get outa my head!" poke said out loud. That was a first time...
aww, how come? I like seeing whats in your head, it's interesting Toroth couldn't see a thing in her head, and was just enjoying making her squirm as they waited for rose and rowan to make their next..er..move

Rowan was tired. They also had to review the rules for the Arena some more. Maybe making things more clear would have been a good idea.
Now when you suggested that the first rider to fall, what exactly did you mean?
I meant splat. I caught you didn't I?

Oh c'mon, Eclipse and Zephyr can catch you.

Then you'd better trust them then. Rosemary grinned wolfishly, flapping slowly to conserve energy. Rowan sighed.
Fine then. But if I break a bone or something, I blame you. Rosemary laughed silently.
Whatever you say, whatever you say.
"Do you still want to continue?" Rowan called out to Poke and Toroth. Rosemary flicked her tail with annoyance beneath Rowan. It seemed obvious she still wanted to fight, even with her hurt wing. Rowan was anxious to take a look at it. It can't be good to be pushing an injured wing to far.
