Empress_Kat DarkAngel65 Although I do agree with your points, something to consider is the fact that each book covers a full year, and it is hard to get all of that into a two hour movie. To get everything in its entire detain you would be sitting through a 12 hour movie. Although I did not love the movies, I liked them and I think that the two directors (Chris Columbus, Alfonso) did a good job with what they had. No, I disagree. The Lord of the Rings movies were covering much larger books then HP, and they still managed to do a beautiful job. Although Columbus did do a better job then Alfonso, none of the movies really seemed to capture the spirit of the books, to me. I mean, when I read the books, I really believe, not so when watching those movies. Personally I didn't like the LOTR movie. I saw the first one and almost fell asleep so I didn't even bother to see the other two, but that is just me. But I do agree that Columbus did a better job than Alfonso. Another thing that I think also may have hurt the film was the sad passing of the actor that played Dumbledore. The actor that they chose for the third movie just didn't seem as kind and caring as the previous Dumbledore did. But again that is my opinion.

I thought that the 4th one was also going to be directed by Alfonso? No it's not, JKR didn't like that to well. sweatdrop JKR didn't like the way Alfonso made the film to be? I don't think so, I could be wrong though. That's just what I heard.hum... Ok. Last I read last year sometime was that Alfonso was scheduled to direct the next one. But that may have changed.

The only thing I like in the third movie (in any of them, really) is the scene where the Gryffindor boys are sitting in the dormitory eating candies, and Ron gets one that makes him sound like a lion. It was completely unnesscary, but I thought it was cute and actually fir the characters of the boys.

I guess some people just don't like LOTR, for various reasons. It goes a lot deeper into fantasy, and has a much more complicated plot then Harry Potter. I do agree, the old Dumbledork was much better then the new one, but I guess it must be hard to live up to another actor like that...

I tried to read the first book btu I just couldn;t get through it. I got bored with it. Although I did read The Hobbit and I really like that one. Dumbledork, lol. I like that. I think that the first actor just set the bar so high that it will be hard for any other actor to be able to bring the character to life like he could.

Maybe it will be a little closer to the book then because personally I liked the fourth book the best.
