PyroBlade i wonder if smokey can travel underwater. we know that joanna was at least a decent swimmer, she did go to australia to scuba dive. as for claire, we've never really seen her swim at all. but anyways, either those currents really are strong, or our friend smokey can swim. -shrugs- just shoot me already

PyroBlade they'll most like kill off those 2 new people who went to the pearl with locke and sayid. Do you really think so? I kinda hope so. Although, they've been in, what, one episode? I don't know. They did kinda kill off all the Tailies though. So, Nikki, Paulo, actors. Don't get arrested! Unless you want to die. Lianara So, I spent most of that episode being confused as to what exactly was going on, then understood it at the end.
And I was seriously flipping out about Charlie. I love that guy! He's not allowed to die!
Okay, but in all honesty, I have a suspicion that this is going to be the last season, or at most the second last. The fact that they're answering the three biggest questions on next week's show just kind of shows me that they are trying to boil things down to an ending. They generally say they intend five seasons, though they may go to only four. To be fair, we're about half over, so they SHOULD be answering big questions now. My prediction on the Charlie-death-thing: It will look like Charlie very well will die. And then Desmond will save him, and die instead. I will be said. Then, Penny will show up. And she'll be all, "Where is Desi?" And Charlie will be all, "...Desi was a good man. He saved my life." CUE THE CRYING. ...In fact, except for the Desi thing, that is most likely exactly how it will play out.

I know I'm going to be crucified for this, but I hope Charlie dies. I know, I know, the girls swoon over Dominic and I'm sure Dom is a great guy, but the character of Charlie...well...I find him too boring and one dimensional. I'd like to see the writers "thin the herd" a little bit so as to better develop more interesting characters like (in my opinion) Sawyer, Desmond, Jack, and Locke.
A lot of these characters still have skeletons in their closet that we're all dying to see. They have unanswered questions about their past that make us wonder why they are how they are. With Charlie, I'm just not seeing that. He was in a band. He got hooked on drugs. He kicked the habit. The end. So yeah, I'd like to see him killed off and not Desmond. Sorry. neutral

I thought Charlie should have been killed off in Season One's 'All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues.' Not because I dislike him, but because it would have been truly powerful. It would have made the Others really scary. Instead, Jack MAGICALLY saves him. Well, clearly the Others, whoever they are, can't beat Jack's magical powers.
While I agree that I could hear more about Sawyer, I don't care if what they tell us is just going to be about Cassidy. Sawyer is a con man! I bet he's done lots of interesting cons. They should do a flashback light episode of Sawyer conning someone. That way, you get your flashbacks that you're married to, and you get plenty of This Island Lost.
But I don't really want more Jack. I mean, he has the same issues ALL THE TIME. MY DADDY DIDN'T TELL ME HE LOVED ME! I NEED TO FIX THINGS! BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE I KNOW I SUCK! It's old. And it doesn't change. And just about every other character in the world has them.
But, to be fair, most of the characters are like that. Same old issues. Every single time. I doubt Claire will ever really get another episode, because her storyline is relatively shallow, very one note. She's the Abandoned Mother.
Also, I didn't say I wanted Desmond to die instead of Charlie. I said that probably, he would. It's less my desire and more of an objective observation on the course of Lost so far, and a projection of that course on the future.

Oh, sorry...I wasn't insinuating that you said you wanted Desmond to die. I just saw a few people predicting that Desmond would die in Charlie's place. I was stating that I'd rather see Desmond live and Charlie die because I find Desmond more interesting and more pivotal to the show's future. I know Jack's backstory is kinda played out but I like it because it hits close to home with me. I know all too well about how you can mess yourself up by trying to be the man your father wants you to be. So his story is a personal one for me. That's why I like it. But again, I can understand how it's a bit old and dull. Incidently, you mentioned Jack saving Charlie my resusitating him. Trivia: the number of times Jack punched Charlie in the chest to revive him: 23 Coincidence? Or...something else? surprised

Those "answers" to the "3 biggest questions" are more likely to be partial answers than total answers. And in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof said that right now LOST is at the halfway point of the big picture. They also said that they will not delay the ending with tangental episodes just to garner ratings. (Hallelujah!) So, in theory, it will end in Season 5. But it could easily go into Season 6, I think, without any delays. But we shall see how this season ends...

Well...I think Charlie has a bit more to do on the island before and if he gets killed off. I personally loved the episode a LOT. I made a signature for it, in case any of ya are interested...
