Ice_Moon Twonk @ Rinu: xd Lupin's voice I can take and Goemon's, but I think he only has like four lines or something in the whole movie. And why do big guys have to have Arnold Scwarzenegger (or however his name is spelled...) voices? It's always like that. It's annoying. mad Anyways, yeah, the other voices are not listenable. @ Ice: What, you've never heard of Aflica? neutral xd I like Zony, myself. It's like, hmmm, whatever company are they referring to? I have often wondered why store signs have very bad english written on them. And on your Inuyasha thing, it's rather refreshing that Lupin is all seperate shows and that they never made it into a long story. Because really, that's what the movies are for. It's sort of like the Dragon Ball Z syndrome. Although I never read the manga so I don't know if the stories were really that dragged out. No, I've never heard of it....I'm not very well educated in the names of countrys am I? gonk I've only read a little of the Inuyasha manga, but the TV series.....oi........ In the Lupin TV series there is only one two parter that I know of, and that one involves Lupins old Girlfriend Cornelia, and this natzi doctor who would do Dead Body hypnosis, or something like that, so he could controll the dead bodys and he did it to himself and to cornelia. That one was, oh, so weird. there are two two parters in the second sieres. Also I think that the fillers in IY are really, really bad! gonk @ Twonk: Also the one with Cornelia is the one with the really weird flash back scene!

Nani_Lupin I highly doubt it. Lupin only does so-so for AS. In any case, Adult Swim can only buy what their offered, so if you want new episodes you have to complain to Geneon. I thought Pioneer was handling the 2nd tv series, and that Geneon was handling the OVAs and tv specials.
In any case, yeah, it's up to the Pioneer or whoever to purchase more episodes, Adult Swim can only show the ones that are available (thought they need to put Lupin back on).
For context, I have been into Lupin III since I first saw the pilot film on a fansub I had of Sailor Moon, and that was in '99 or so. I was wary of the dub, but when I saw it I 100% loved it even though it wasn't accurate, because I love the added jokes. ("It's dust in the wind man, dust in the wind, just like Kansas said.")

Geneon is the Anime division of Pioneer, so they are both responsible in that way. FUNimation is the company that handles the TV specials. I agree that the 2nd TV series dub is great. xd I laugh everytime I watch one.

Nani_Lupin I don't know what to do with people who just base their opinions about Lupin off of the 10 seconds of animation they watch. I'd like to say: "It's from the 70's, for crying out loud! It's not going to look like Inuyasha or Cowboy Bebop! Give it a decent chance!" Lupin III has way better animation (as in the frame rate per minute of cels moving) than anime does today. I don't even watch anime anymore these days because it's barely animated at all. Most of it is terrible, although there are a few exceptions (Bebop was not that bad, and RahXephon looks to be somewhat well animated).
I think what people are turned off by is the character designs, because they don't look like every other anime out there. I happen to really like the Lupin character designs. I think they're neat. Also, Monkey Punch was heavily inspired by Batman and Mad Magazine, so his character designs have a more Western-style comic book look than most anime designs.

I like how they add those certain realistic movements to the characters that most animes would leave out. Like it's so much trouble to have the characters move their hands or heads when they talk for many of the other animes. One reason I can't really watch GitS:SAC anymore. It's painful on my mind to see the characters talking for 30 seconds and all that moves is their mouth. gonk

It's painful on my mind to see the characters talking for 30 seconds and all that moves is their mouth. gonk What I've always enjoyed about Lupin is the realism it strives to have. The cars, planes, places, weapons (Zantetsuken nonwithsatnding), and the 'people', to a certain extent, are all real and exist in the physical world. This partially adds to my current obbsession of all things Lupin, of which my current goal is to someday own Lupin's SSK car. (The yellow, antique looking think from the first series, and which you can also see in some movies. Like Fujiko's Unlucky Days. I refuse to use any FUNimation titles, they're all too stupid.) Also, the way Lupin will find some treasure that connects in some way to a history that's real, though it does have to do with Nazi treasure one time too many, has a very high appeal to me. Going back to the animation debate, I don't deny that they took alot of time to draw each frame, which i an element that is sorely lacking in newer Anime. Get a DVD of Lupin and watch it in 'Step' mode to see each frame. It's really amazing. Most people don't seem to care, though. They seem to want the 'style' of anime they're used to, i.e. Big eyes, magical powers, all the main characters looking femmine. Also, most things I see on the forums are people who talk about how crude the animations looks. That's why I don't want anyone to jugde it against InuYasha, because the two aren't even in the same league.

Lupin achieves what few tv animated shows from any country achieve: comedy from the animation itself. Look at how Zenigata moves--how he flays his arms and haunches over. It realy is rare to see that kind of personality given to movement in tv animation.

Most people today don't care about how smooth the frame rate of the animation is, they just want pretty cels (I don't know what the digital equivalent would be called). They would be content to sit there and watch a show where a character never moves at all as long as the artwork is "pretty".

I also think people are talking about the character designs (which I didn't mind at all, it was a good show and alot of the big eye flowing hair, girly men, crap sucks anyway), which is stupid, but those are the types of people who wouldn't really like Lupin anyway, except for maybe COC (No offence, but I HATE COC, it began well but all this preachy crap, and man, just not very.. Lupin-ey.) Although sometimes the character designs look weird, it's too awesome to give a crap. I also agree with Mahou how it achieves comedy in just the animation. 'Tis great! I doubt Lupin is going to be back on AS, or that they'll buy any new episodes. They shouldn't expect much from a 1:30am time slot (or a 5:30am time slot), But I would really like some new fans to talk to crying I don't actually know any. Adult Swim has SUCKED though recently, so they're just going for what they think will be popular, now what's good. Their old shows that are still being made new suck now, going for cheap laughs etc. WE NEED MORE LUPIN!!

I hate when animes have girly looking men. And then the fans of the show make fun of you and seem so superior when you say you don't know if they are a man or woman. mad I hate those people...
Anyway, I agree with you Pirupi. Adult Swim has sucked very bad. I can't remember the last time I actually wanted to watch it. And they screwed with the two shows on there that made me want to watch it, Lupin and Case Closed. I still like the Ghost in the Shell show, but the limited animation on that gives me a headache. sweatdrop
It's funny though how all these people say it sucks and refuse to watch Lupin. A show that sucks doesn't last as long as it has and doesn't have the huge fan base it does. The non-fans make me sad.
