There now! It wasn't perfect because Ewan was out of practise even if he had cleaned family members in his youth - and because you just didn't groom others in some places. But Dumu's fur was smoother and for the most part dirt free.

Dumu smiled and turned back, nuzzling under his chin, purring affectionately at him.
"As are you, you saved me."
He replied softly as he leaned against him. For whatever reason, Ewan felt almost like a big brother, at other times, a father, and others.... another feeling. Dumu always caught himself purring, or smiling, or nuzzling at him but it just felt so right and well.... not wrong.
"Ewan, what are we doing today?..."

"How hungry are you? If we'e both not hungry enough to hunt, we could always go travelling - see if we can't find something new or somewhere interesting to explore. Or we could stay here and snooze." His voice clearly suggested he was torn between his stomach, his wanderlust and his lazy contentment with how they were.
Ewan didn't yet know what he felt about the younger male. Had he explored the emotions, he'd probably have come to the same conclusions as Dumu. Except he'd know what the third relationship hinted of and would worry himself silly over it. So perhaps it was better that he didn't.

"A little bit of all of them I suppose. I am hungry, I have almost forgotten when the last time I was actually full. Well, you said you were looking for someone so a little wandering would get us closer and the sights would be nice to take in. However, the way we are now feels nice."
Dumu chuckled happily.
"That didn't help much did it? Well, I suppose we could rest for now, wake up and wander, hunting if we come across any good game. Or save the rest for last, the adult should make the final decision."
The dark red seer purred and laid back against the male, stretching out his back and yawned, the remnants of his sleep. He rubbed his belly wandering when the next time he would get a good meal one that would leave him full for days. Staring up into the sky wondering what was out there, waiting for them. Where, when, how.....

"Oh yeah, make me decide just because I'm older. Fine, we'll stay here and laze until the worst of the sun is gone. Then we'll hunt and feast like kings." It all sounded grand. Ewan stretched slightly and relaxed again, curling slightly towards Dumu instictively - he was a warm presence after all. He may have misunderstood his friend but hopefully it wouldn't cause a rift between them. Dumu was an understanding sort, he thought and could always wake him up if he were hungry right now.
"Dreamwell Dumu." Eyes shut and his purr slowly stopping, trying to doze off. What a way to live. Sleeping, eating, friendship...everything was wonderful right now.

Dumu yawned wide with his fangs gleaming in the sunlight as he fell back against Ewan's warm body. It was always nice to have someone next to you to fall back onto when you have nothing left. The little juvenile nuzzled the older male softly and closed his eyes.
"Dreamwell, Ewan...."
He yawned softly, nuzzling him again as his mind carried him off into the world of dreams. Everything seemed to be getting better.
