"Intimidating to ask people, or intimidating trying to find your way around?" he asked curiously, seeing an arguement for either side of it. Certainly, it would not be easy to talk to strangers or admit you were lost. And it wouldn't be really easy trying to take in everything at once, either. Wahabu kept them going at a decent pace, but slow enough that the scenery (and thus landmarks) were not zooming by.

"After we get to the river, you can lead us back to where we were," he announced cheerfully.

"Both really..but I'm trying my best," she said with a decisive nod of her head and a flick of her tail. Her hazel eyes fell over what they passed as they went along, she saw the river coming up, and tried to remember the way back. She'd lead them back? Oh boy, that'd be interesting. But she pushed her unsure thoughts from mind and believed she could do it. All you had to do was put your mind to something, right? Yes, if that was it, she could lead them back.

"I think I can..." she said with a smile, making sure to keep up with Wahabu as they padded along.

"I'm sure you can," Habu said confidently and enouragingly. He would not let Kat think she couldn't, for that would be counter-productive. If she needed his help, he'd be right there. Imagine how happy she'd be when she found their way back to where they started.

"There it is," he announced brightly when the river ahead of them became more obvious, "We wanted to find a good fishing spot, right? Let's see if we can find somewhere where you can get near the water easy."

Kat smiled and nodded at his response. If she thought she could do it, what could stop her? Nothing she believed, nothing at all, the only thing that could maybe stop her was doubt...but she tried to push that far from her. Her hazel eyes set on the rushing river, and her stomach lurched a bit. She was still so hungry, some nice fish would hit the stop in her stomach perfectly.

"Yes, somewhere thats a bit shallow maybe?" she knew fish usually wouldn't get too close to shallow parts of water, but she also didn't want to be swept out by the river current.

"We'll have to look for somewhere shallow that's near somewhere not so shallow," he agreed, nodding happily and skipping over to the river's side. He always liked coming to the river, it was one of his favorite places in the Pridelands for some reason. It was lucky Kilango'd never come here with him, he thought with a small laugh.

"Hmm," he murmured, looking up and down the River to see if anywhere was obviously suitable, "Let's keep walking." Habu turned and started in the up-river direction.

"Alright," Kat said almost silently, she was thinking, what way would she try to catch a fish? It had been a while since she tried, in a river no doubt. Usually the areas in which she fished were ponds or lakes, something like that, though a river...it intimidated her quite a bit. She padded behind him, looking at the top of the river, some debris flowed on the top past them, but she kept up, kept a steady pace, and was careful to not get too close to the waters edge.

She didn't want to go for a 'swim' today.

Wahabu was aware of the danger and difficulty of fishing in the river, and he hoped they would find a section of it that was not too bad in the way of current. There seemed to be very few really easy spots today, but after some walking Wahabu spotted one area looking shallow and gentle enough.

"How about that?" he asked looking over at the water, squinting though not managing to spot anything in the water from where he was. He wasn't much of a fisher-lion anyway.

Kat kept up as fast as she could without stepping on a stone that gave her paws a slight sting if she stepped upon them in the wrong way. She flicked her tail and her eyes fell on the spot Wahabu had suggested. "Oh, that seems perfect," she said with a nod, padding closer to it to see it better.

It seemed well enough.

Her hazel eyes scanned over the water and indeed, there were, what seemed to be, a few rather plump fish that were just on the edge of the shallow area, which was nice. Perhaps she could catch a fish for Wahabu and herself, they could each have one. She could show her appreciation to him that way surely she could.

She stepped slowly into the shallow water, gave a slight shiver for it was a bit cold, and went in a few more steps, but kept to the border of the area. She crept along, slowly, trying to keep her shadow from getting too close to the fish, she didn't really want to scare them away.

That wouldn't be good at all...considering what they'd gone through to get here. She'd feel horrible if she didn't catch something now.

After waiting a couple moments, Kat swung her paw with her claws extended into teh water...shallower water=easier time at catching fish. It took her a couple tries, but the she had two, fresh, still slightly wiggling, fish for them both to have before they headed back.

She'd have to tell Ai about this when she got home!

"Here," she said softly, pushing one fish towards Wahabu closer onto shore with her nose, she smiled, kept a paw on her fish to make sure it wouldn't get away, "Least I can do..." then she started to nibble on her first...and a fish never tasted so good.

Wahabu watched as KAt took the initiative to go right over to the water's edge, and he was smart enough to stay back. With his luck, he'd trip over something and fall in.. or just make too much noise. He wasn't a bad hunter, but it was funnier to think like this. Besides, this trip was for Kat, she could do it on her own. So he sat back, watched and waited.

He beamed at the successful lioness when she returned, not surprised to see her returning with more than one fish but surprised to find it pushed towards him.

"Thank you," he said gratefully, and in a small leap he caught his fish before it flopped too far from where Kat had placed it.

Kat smiled, flicked her tail, "No problem, least I can do," she said with a nod, and returned to eating her fish. It wasn't a rather large one, but it wasn't small, it was just the perfect size to keep her from being hungry for a little while, which was good, she still wasn't quite comfortable going up to others yet, though she was getting better.

To her, asking someone for help hunting, would be even more awkward.

But those feelings would come to pass soon enough.

Wahabu grinned, and then took some time to enjoy the fish he'd been given. It wasn't a hard walk they'd gone on, but it was a nice rest stop on the way- for now all that was left was for Kat to get them back to their starting point. He looked back over to Kat, a couple silvery fish scales at the corner of his mouth.

"Y'ready to take us back?" he asked with a grin.

Kat smiled, peered around and stood up. She stretched her limbs and flicked her tail, "I think so..." she said with slight uncertainty in her voice. But she couldn't be like that! No. If she was going to be part of this pride, have this as her home, she had to be certain of things, she had to be confident. "I mean, yes, I'm ready..."

Least she believed she was.

"You ready?"

Wahabu shook his mane out of his face, and wiped off his muzzle on his paws- which left the few shiny flecks of fish scale nearer his paws instead of his face. At least he looked more presentable that way. He was about to correct her when she said she thought she was ready to lead the way back, but she did so herself and instead he grinned.

"I am," he nodded, "Lead the way!"

Kat smiled, turned her head in the direction they had come from, have to go backwards from which we came...but I can't walk backwards, I'll look silly! she mused as she turned and started to take a few steps. She stopped, almost as if she was ready for him to tell her she was going the wrong way, but she shook her head at herself, took more steps, and looked to see if Wahabu was following or not.

Wahabu hopped up and carefully from side to side as he waited for Kat to decide which way was the right way to go. He certainly looked confident in her ability to lead the way, though he wasn't sure what he'd do if she went the wrong way. You can find the right way again if you go the wrong way for a bit, it'd be good learning.

"Alriiight," he beamed and followed after Kat as she started off, going the right way.
