Kubwa smiled a broad happy smile, one that had not crept across his face in sometime. Although he still felt like sobbing and smiling he was happy. He was content with her answer and would soon be seeing his little boy, so there was no need to pry about what he looked like. "How could I take the great news that my family has grown larger badly?" he joked.
"The feathers..what will I do with them, she wanted him to have them?"
What would he name the../fuzzy/ cub? uncertain about that for sure, he would have to see the little one and hope he guessed correctly a name to fit the personality. Kubwa's father had named him after a doomed brother, and his brother after a mouse...but a cub that happened out of passion..one that had no mother..what then?

Mtima accepted his joke with another smile, happy he could joke about it. He was young, and perhaps he might not be so content about this all the time- but at least he had an optimistic view about this.
"The feathers are for him when it is safe," she answered with a matter-of-fact nod, "They are a bit sharp, so you may wish to hold onto them for a short time."
The goddess sighed deeply, "I think I should tell you, parenting is not easy all the time. You're optimistic now, but you may not always be so happy. You are young and some might think it odd that you have a son. And sometimes cubs cause trouble, even if you're lucky you'll still get a bit of trouble. You're so optimistic, but are you also serious?"

A pang of anger echoed in the back of the pale lion's mind, of course he was serious! He had never been more serious in his entire life! He had a son..something that days before ehw ould hever even think of but now..now was different, now was better. He had a lasting image of Boma, and even if it hurt he had her...a very small part of her. And the feathers...Well, he'll keep those and possibly give them to his son.
"I am serious, this is my responsibility, there is no other way, I would not dessert my own kind, my father did not raise me to be that way. He is my blood, and even if it gets hard, there is a large pride that will help....and it will be hard...without his mother.."

Mtima could see that she'd angered the youth, and she felt it was that quick change of emotion that might not make it so easy for him. He had to accept the advice of a goddess and mother without seeing it as offensive. She was the one put in charge of the cub by Boma, the goddess had said nothing specifically about taking the cub to Kubwa- though she had mentioned it and the goddess would do nothing else. She had a duty to the cub, and to her friend.
"I understand," she said, sounding as serious as when she'd arrived, "And you should understand why I have to remind you these things. Do not think that you are immune to the difficulties of life. There are some things a large pride cannot help with, not beyond advice at least. You are lucky, your son has a good soul. Keep it that way."

Kubwa could not help but get angry and could not easily get rid of it once it crept into his mindset, "I know that life will be hard, but why not go in with a good outlook, I am a good soul, am I not...? What could I do to change my son...? You said he was with Tai, correct? Mtima, I do not mean to cut this short, but I am either heading that way with you, or I will be going alone. I am through talking, I want to see." He gritted his teeth and glared up at her. He was clouded by the delusion that it would all be hunky-dory, and Mtima's seriousness was sounding more and more like scolding.

Almost as quick as she found herself impressed, she found herself a little concerned. Kubwa was certainly showing his age now, and hopefully he would treat his son with the care needed- especially in the first little while. She'd had enough experience with her own cubs to see what was happening and why he was being so resistant.
"He is with Tai," she confirmed with a nod, and stepped aside so she was no longer directly infront of him. Clearly she had no intention of going with him to retrieve his son. She hoped that by the time he got there, he had time to think about it a bit- and if he wasn't thinking straight about proper care that Tai would give him good advice.

"Thank you for your help, and thank you for caring for him," as an after thought he added, "Tell Wahabu that I say hello, and that perhaps he would like to come meet..my son?" His hot temper did not decrease, but he did not want a goddess, and mother to think badly of him. Nodding he knew the conversation was over with the great yellow female and he stepped forward in hopes to find his kin in safe paws.
Boma'burudi, you'll be seeing me soon, leave my son...our son..with someone and not come to be first? How could you!? He is mine, and will always have a home here, no matter how hard, and even if Mvumo and Aadil disown me, he is still going to do right by my....son..

Mtima nodded to Kubwa, but said no other words. She was tired, so very tired. And it was not the same feeling she had after months of hiding her wings from the eyes of the mortal pride around her. Today had been emotionally exhausting, and she couldn't help but continue to worry a bit. She sighed, and watched Kubwa go off to meet his newest family member.
