Atsuko's smile broadened slightly. "Didn't think you didn't," She said, flicking bit of snow from her ears. She raised a front paw and scratched her chest, uncheathing her claws. "The pleasure's all mine, Chiasa." She said, not looking at her. But as she'd satisfied her itch on her chest and put her paw back down on the ground she turned her icy eyes back to her. "Then how do you eat? There has to be something around here..." She trailed off, casting her glance across the white fields of snow doted with trees. "I've never been in this neck of the woods," she said as if to herself but she was just informing Chiasa that was why she couldn't find food herself.

Chiasa didn't care to point to the other female Shikoku that this was her first time ever actually seeing snow. Before winter came, there had been plenty of fruit and berries to eat in the forest. Now all that food was gone or frozen over.
"I suppose we'll just have to go search for some food," she said, rolling one of her shoulders in a shrug. "Unless you would rather putter around here by yourself."

Atsuko concentrated on her surroundings. The wind rustled her pelt and the necklace suspended from her neck. The brown lace keeping the feathers up were nearly hidden in her fur and the feathers rose up and down with every breath she took. She had moved it from her back where it had rest for some time. The reason it was there was simply because it had grown annoying hitting her chest over and over. She nodded distractedly when she was spoken to. "Right, yes, I wouldn't mind some company." Her tail twitched. "Gets awful lonely talking to yourself." She took a step forewards, her paws making an audible crunch in the white stuff. "Care to lead the way?" she asked Chiasa, looking at her.

Despite being the younger of the two, Chiasa had always been more of a leader than Watanuki. She nodded and accepted the role of leader now. "There should be some fruit somewhere," she said vaguely as she started walking, though much more carefully now. She didn't want to fall into another snow pit and have Atsuko rescue her from the icy trap again.

Atsuko had no problem being a follower for the moment. She assumed the leader role all too often and it was almost a good break from the position. It only irked her slightly that the female before her seemed to be younger then she. But then again she was pretty bad at determining someone's age. Fruit? Atsuko eyed the frozen ground skeptically. "I doubt it, really, but you never know." She took a step foreward, making to follow the female but was haulted as her whole paw and leg plunged into the snow. She growled a bit, bearing her teeth at the situation. How she hated winter. Mumbling and grumbling she pulled herself free with a violent yank. She resumed following Chiasa.

"How would you know if there's fruit around or not?" Chiasa inquired in a bit of a snippy tone. She doubted the other Shikokuyen had been around for as long as she had. What did this Atsuko know about the land here anyway? She paused hearing a sound behind her and turned to see Atsuko had fallen a little into a snow pit. Chiasa didn't attempt to help. Not unless Atsuko asked for it. When the other Shikokuyen freed herself, Chiasa started leading the way again.

"Calm down there, spunky." Atsuko snorted, rolling her eyes at the female. There was no need for her to cop an attitude, yeesh. "I don't," she admitted, stopping and rearing back on her hind legs to look up a tree she'd come across. "But then again, you don't either." Her blue eyes glimmered softly. Nothing but dead, spikey branches did the tree yield. She sighed in disappointment even though she knew it was utterly impossible a tree could bear fruit this time of the month. When he paws returned to the snow she pushed the white stuff aside with a swat of her paw. Underneath lay dead grass that was nearly frozen. "Well we could always eat this delicious looking grass," she chuckled, her voice heavy with sarcasm.
