I Seen that Easter Egg and a veiwed it as her ghost and I was like AHHHHH she come back to haunt me....*runs in circles* stressed
PostPosted: Sun Mar 04, 2007 1:31 pm

No, there is no way she can be revived...or else it'd have been very well known by now...

It's nothing more than an Easter Egg; it's just Aeris's spirit residing in the church, since that's where she spent most of her time.

Cloud sees her at the end of "Advent Children", talking to two children who probably represent those two children tending to her flowers in the game after she died.

It's not a glitch, it's just a neat Easter Egg. Her death is what makes that game so great, and makes Sephiroth a greater villain.

Aeris' death took awhile to sink in for me. I totally thought she would come back to life somehow, magically perhaps, or that she never passed at all in the first place. I kept expecting her to return to save the day but it was not to be. When I saw her in the church the first time I played the game, I was sure there would be a mini-quest/storyline to harken her return. Only after watching the end credits did I truly believe that she was gone. Applause for the conviction to let her rest.

Let me just blow this misconception out of the water that is a glitch as a result from some sort of quest that was meant to allow you to revive Aeris.

After Aeris is kidnapped by Tseng and the Turks, go to Aeris' church. Hey, viola, the 'ghost' you just mentioned is there. Glitchy, huh? It's not an easter egg, and seeing as her character model is appearing in a place it's not meant to be at those points in the game it is a glitch and I dare anyone to prove otherwise.

Not to mention that if Aeris had been revived there would be no FF7 Advent Children. The only reason meteor is stopped at the end of the game is because Aeris used the life-stream to assist Holy.

There is absolutely no way whatsoever to revive Aerith without use of a gameshark or other cheating device that would alter the code of the game itself. It is absolutely NOT possible in the Japanese games, as I have confirmed this with friends that I have who have actually played through the Japanese version of the game, including an exchange student in my college class. As harsh as this may sound, it is just wishful thinking of the players being exploited by rumors, nothing more.

Aerith had a strong connection to her church when she was alive. She spent a lot of time there, and apparently, so did some of the children of Sector Five who were in the immediate area, as you can tell when you see the children taking care of her flowers for her. Her church is also special to her for two other reasons: this is where she first met Cloud, and with new revelations from Crisis Core, is also where she first met Zack (through very similar means, as well).

She has strong feelings and memories for this place, and for her spirit, even a part of it, to remain connected to it in some manner or form is not entirely impossible. She sort of lingers there, watching the children there, although probably not in whole.

Also, recall that at the end of Advent Children, you see her kneeling with two children near the pews, where she then stands up, walks off towards Zack, and says "Everything is fine now."

A glitch? Quite likely, as there were many bugs that they were not able to fix in Final Fantasy VII, even before it's American release. In the PC port of the game, if you have Vincent in your party when Aerith dies, his character model, is, quite simply, all whacked out. It looks like he was hit by a semi, but somehow managed to piece himself back together, albeit in the wrong order. Think of what a young girl would do to a Barbie doll, but instead, with Vincent's Advent Children action figure.

And no, I'm not talking about tea parties and pink bedspreads. I'm talking dismemberment like only a five year old can dream up.

So, there's a chance that it was intentional, perhaps even on purpose. But was she supposed to be revived? Absolutely not. I love her dearly, but if you really want her alive, go read a fanfic about her coming back to life, as there are plenty of those. It's harsh, but it's the truth.

Though, wouldn't it be a bit weird, if, like, both Aeris and Sephiroth were revived through some weird ritual in a movie? Like, the lifestream brought them both back so Sephiroth could repent and Aeris could keep check of him or something? I digress a lot, a lot...

I never thought of Sephy being the repentant type of guy. He never did get the "J-E-N-O-V-A is not a Cetra" memo did he? *sigh*

Besides;

That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.

Kind of fits, don't you think?

Hmmm, never tried that. Bit late now, my current running of FF7 playage has brought me to Junon.

As for all this Aerith hating; are you people just trying to get a rise? I adore Aerith, she's one of the very few Japanese lead females that does not drive me to annoyance. There is only one character I truly hate (and he's growing on me since I have been forced to RP him), but I'm not about to start bashing him as there may be fans about (as odd as that might seem to me).

Likewise, but most of the bashing is simply hate-fans and their mindless drivel of an opinion, as most of them can't substantiate it at all. Just like Tifa bashers and their ilk, 'tifas a whore lulz' 'Prove it.' 'uhhhhh.'

Just ignore it, Aeris is my favourite lead female of the entire FF series but this sort of bashing doesn't bother me.

As for being in Junon I'll probably load up my own copy soon and just speed through the beginning of the game to double check I'm right, I'm pretty sure I am. If I'm not then I'll step down and apologise. xd

im glad aeris is dead she practically screwed up the game but then she died
YAY!!!

She didn't screw up the game, she was actually the focal point of the game. So before you flame the post with insults, get the facts strait.

The original plan was to revive her, but they scrapped the idea. There is no way possible to revive her, there is no way other than the gameshark to revive her. There is no glitch, there is no easter egg, she is gone, thats that.

I loved that part. It warmed my heart, since I wasn't sure if it was going to happen or not. But there she was. I sat there for minutes before getting too close and having her leave. It doesn't mean that the party was supposed to revive her.

I've also heard that Cloud's date determined how close you could get to the ghost. If you went with Aeris, you could get close to her before she disappeared. If you went with Tifa, you could get halfway across the room before she vanishes. And if you went with Barret, she'd disappear almost immediately after a few steps. I've only tested this after going on the date with Tifa, so I have to test this out with the other two.

It is most definately an easter egg included by the developers. This of course for the fact that she dissappears when approached, and notice that the children in the church have different lines of dialogue before and after she dissappears.

Yet in reference to:

This of course could be a glitch in the earlier part of the game caused by coding the actual easter egg itself into the game. All it has to do is cause it to appear in parts of the game it was not supposed to becuase of some sort of broken time code.

I love Aerith too, she's always has been my favorite ever since I was about four years old(I'm twelve years old..so yeah). And always will be my favorite..well,sitting beside Yuna of course.Anyway, even though she's my favorite,I just have to accept facts that she's dead, and there is no outstanding force that can bring her back to life and marry Cloud(no matter how much crying ).She will always be my favorite,up to now and forever, but there won't be no way she can cheat death, everybody has to die sometime in their life.

And Aerith never completely ruined the game, she was what kept the whole thing one of the most dramatic and historical events that ever happened in the history of Final Fantasy....and yes, made Cloud even more 'emo' for those that believe he is.

I thought you could also date Yuffie..wonder what happens when you try to get close to Aerith...

So care to explain why a easter egg for the death of Aeris would be coded into disk 1 when she's alive for the entirety of the disk pretty much? The answer is it wouldn't, because it's not neccessary as she's alive. This glitch is viewable from the moment she's kid-napped by the Turks, and seeing as this takes place on disk 1 where it wouldn't be logical for a revival quest/easter egg to be coded in the only sensible conclusion is that it is a glitch and nothing more.

Edit: I wish Sabaal was still around in this Guild cuz he knew his s**t when it came to programming. He'd be able to shine some light on the subject.

Ooh, I might be able to answer this one. For some reason ALL the FMV's etc are coded onto disc one. There's a terrible 'cheat' where you can randomly view any sequence from the whole game by playing around with the open/close whilst viewing sequences during the events of disc one.

This MIGHT be why you can something in disc one that really shouldn't show up till disc two.

I have not done this in about 5 years, and it's not really a good idea as it can screw up your PSX (not sure about PS1) so can't entirely remember how it's done without trudging through old FF7 files... so I could be wrong.

((Also, I might add I'm distracted by the ever funny Scrubs right now.))

Apparently the programmers WERE originally going to make it possible to revive Aeris at some point during the end or something, but time restraints stopped them, and they played it up like it was supposed to happen.

I wish we COULD revive her, I want me fnuckin' Edincoat back.
