Inari smiled, letting the fish run under his paw, it calmed him, made him feel young again (not that he was extremely old or anything). "They don't look smart, but if they sense that you are trying to catch one, they'll dash away quicker before you know what happened."
He nodded with his explanation, that had happened to him many times. Ah well, you learned from your mistakes, he had, and he would. "Do you like them?" he asked, looking at Amesi seeming to enjoy the fish.
This was nice.

Amesi wiggled her bum slightly, tail waving about in the air. Not only had she made a new friend, but she had found new creatures to look at with awe. They were amazing, these fish. They held their breath for an infinite amount of time, and they opened and closed their mouths as if they could hardly breath. Yet, if they couldn't breath, how was it that they were still moving and alive?
The white and black cub blinked her blue eyes, glancing over towards Inari. "How do they know if we are trying to catch them?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. If they weren't that smart, wouldn't they be clueless about having anything after them?
Removing her paw from the water, she shook it out and let the water fly loose. It was an uncomfortable feeling, having water seeping into her fur, so she did her best to get rid of it all.
When asked if she liked them, she blinked then glanced back towards the fish swimming about. "They are interesting, but really weird," she giggled. "I don't think I would try to play with them, I don't like the water." She stuck out her tongue, as if to emphasize the disgust she had towards water. "Do you like them?"

Inari smiled, flicked his tail, "They know when we move differently, like, if we want to pounce, watch." Inari crouched down, raised a paw, and the fish darted away from his shadow. "They can see our shadows, our movements, they're pretty smart, but not as smart as us of course." Inari raised himself from where he was, an smiled at Amesi.
"I like them, they are easy to catch if you want a quick snatch, tis really...the only thing I can catch really, I'm too small to go on big hunts on my own. But I hope that changes soon, I want to get big and strong," he said with a nod, puffing his chest out. It made him look funny however, but he didn't realize that.

Amesi watched the fish, just as the male had instructed her to do so. As the fish darted away from his shadow, her eyes widened and she leaned forward in awe. "That's amazing! It's like a big bad monster standing over us. We see the shadow and run, right?" That made sense. Now the fish didn't appear to be so stupid. At least they could keep themselves alive for a time.
"You can eat them?" she asked, looking back at Inari. They looked all slippery and slimy, she didn't know how tastey they could be. But it was tugging at her curiousity. Would she like fish?
"They're easy to catch? Do you think you could teach me?" she asked, flicking her tail. She couldn't hunt either, but that was for a completely different reason other than she was too young. She didn't like the handicap it put on her, and she wanted some other way to be able to feed herself.
"Or maybe we could go on an adventure!" she said excitedly, bouncing to her paws. An adventure sounded nice right about now..

"Of course, though the bigger ones have more meat, and are the better ones to catch. But any of them are good, you have to get used to them if you don't like their texture though," he said with a nod and a smile. This was nice, Amesi was so...innocent, Inari was fascinated by how energetic she was, how much she was curious about...everything.
"I could teach you if you liked, but maybe your mom or dad would like to teach you that..." it was a family thing he thought. Might be nice for her to do it with her parents. "We could go on an adventure if you like, all your choice."

"Is more meat better?" she asked, although she felt she knew the answer to that one. She found that the hunters of the Pridelands tended to go for the fatter ones, but ones that were also sick or weak so they could take it down easily. More meat meant more food to fill more bellies. Made sense.
Looking down at the fish, she spotted the biggest ones in the watering hole. They were fat around, and also very long. She wondered if she really could catch something so big. She wasn't destined to become a great hunter, she knew that, and so she doubted she could catch something so large. But then, she felt that doubting herself wouldn't get her anywhere. She would have faith in herself, then perhaps she would succeed.
At the mention that maybe her parents should teach her how to fish, she shrugged. "I don't know if they can fish, or if they do. I could ask them, if you don't want to teach me."
"Yeah, maybe they could teach me. I want to go on an adventure!" she said excitedly. "Maybe we can go exploring now and if we have time after before I have to go home, you can teach me to fish!" Sounded like a good enough plan to her.

Well, seemed like Amesi could think for herself well enough, she was actually quite smart, Inari admired that. He wondered if he had been that smart at her age...though he doubted it. He had been a lazy fluffy round cub, he'd get bigger and stronger, improve himself, make up for lost time.
"No, no, I was just asking because I didn't know if your parents wanted to show you that on your own," Inari said, trying to smooth out the details a bit more. Her idea was good though, "Alright, adventure first, if we have time later I can teach you then, or teach you another time, how about that? Sound good?"

Amesi smiled, excited and glad that the other approved of her little 'plan'. She had felt it was a rather good one, and so she was glad to think he thought something along the lines of what she had thought.
"Oh, I don't know if my parents would want to teach me," she said honestly. "I don't know if they even eat fish," she giggled, flicking her tail and bouncing around Inari. "But we could worry about fish later. I want to go on an adventure!" she repeated, sounding like a broken record, except she was more enthusiastic about it.
"Yeah!" she said excitedly when he had asked her if that sounded good, going on the adventure first. That was her original plan, and she was glad to see that she was finally going exploring with someone, not just on her own.
"Let's go!"

Inari smiled and snickered to himself, jeesum she was full of energy wasn't she? He wondered why he hadn't been this excited before, why he wasn't as excited as Amesi seemed to be right now. Probably came with age he figured, that you learn more things and get less excited of going to places you already know.
But that was alright.
"Where do you want to go hmmm?" he asked peering around. He wasn't sure where she would like to go, he didn't care either which way though, he'd go anywhere she wanted to go though, so she'd have company, and have some fun.

Amesi stopped all of her excited antics for a moment to think. Where did she want to go? She hadn't thought about it, really. She hadn't exactly counted on meeting someone and going on an adventure. Thus, she hadn't thought anything about where she would want to go if she could pick any place to explore.
Feeling slightly lost, she folded her round ears back and looked at him tentatively. But it wasn't in her nature to be like that for too long, so soon she perked up and lowered her chest to the ground, her rump in the air.
"Where do you think we should go? I don't know these lands very well, since Daddy doesn't let me go out very much.." She let herself trail off, watching the sky that matched the same blue eyes that watched it. She wanted to fly one day.
"Is there anywhere you want to go?" she asked, looking at him expectantly.

Inari smiled, almost a smirk, almost a grin, but it was more of a smile then anything else. Amesi was so full of energy, of life, when she would wander on her own one day would be a great adventure for her, he remembered his first few times out, the first few friends he made. His meeting with the great blue god whose feather ung from behind his ear.
Yes, it would all be great for her.
"I don't want to take you too far away, don't want your father getting mad at me of course, hmmm," he looked to teh sky, peered around. It might get to the point where the sun would begin to set sometime, and the sky would light up with colors.
Perhaps he knew of a spot afterall.
"Come with me, I think I know of a spot you'll like," he'd bring her to the top of his spot, a hill he found on his own wanderings, where many things occured there, where he thoughts of things, dreamt of things, many things. He'd be a great warrior one day, thats what he wished.
He took a few steps in the direction of it, stopped, peered over his shoulder, smile still on his maw, "Coming?"

Amesi blinked, remembering her father. He often worried about her. In fact, she didn't think he ever stopped worrying about her. But, in all honesty, she felt that he worried way too much about her. She didn't even see why he was that way. It wasn't like the Pridelands were a dangerous place, otherwise his parents would have never settled there!
"He won't get mad," she said confidently. If he did get mad, well, she would simply explain to him. Normally it just took one look and a little explanation and his heart was melting. That was what was so great about her father. He was so easily persuaded.
Wiggling with excitement, she bounced forward a little. "Of course!" she called, catching up with him quickly. She may have not been the biggest, the strongest, or the fastest, but she had enough enthusiasm to fill the Pridelands ten times over. Landing beside him after on last hop, Amesi grinned and nudged him playfully.
"Take me to this place!"

Inari smiled and nodded, "Alright, lets go..." he started off in that direction, though went slow, he didn't want to go too fast for risk of losing her in the taller grass and such, didn't need her getting lost, then he'd feel horrible. Plus, it wasn't too far, he could see it already. It would look nice too, when the sun set, or would start to set, it was pretty from there.
He flicked his tail as he walked, then when the incline came he tred up it and got to the top, asking sure to glance back to make sure Amesi wasn't too far behind. She was nice, he'd never forget her for her nice-ness and enthusiasm, and her white and black pelt, her eyes too. Everything, he'd try to remember everything about his new friend.
When he got to the top he perched himself somewhat upon one aof a few stones there, there were large and flat, big enough to sit on. He smiled as he took his seat, waited to see what Amesi would say, see her try to perch herself on a stone too.

Amesi smiled a wide smile and quickly followed after her new friend. Though her chest ached slightly, she ignored it and simply kept pace with Inari. She was determined not to let herself fall behind or get lost. She wanted to see what it was that he wanted to show her!
"I'm coming," she huffed, saving him the trouble of stopping and turning back to look at her.
As they came to some rocks, and the male immediately climbed on them and sat himself down, Amesi stopped for a moment to peer at the sight before her. She was relatively small, contrary to her father, and so everything always seemed bigger than it actually was. Which was why her bright blue eyes widened slightly as she saw the rocks, and Inari climbing them soon after.
"W-wait for me!" she called, then proceeded to approach the rocks and attempt to climb them. At first she simply slipped and fell back to the ground. After a few tries, and after it seemed like her rump would fall off, she finally got a hold on a tiny crack in the rocks. Grunting and groaning, she used her tiny claws and all of her child strength to pull her up. Finally! She scrambled on the top of the rock and lay on her belly, panting, for a few moments.
"Wow," she gasped, referring to the climb up. Rolling onto her side, she peered at Inari. "So what's here?"

Inari tilted his head to the side and watched her, almost laughing but he kept that inside but kept a smile on his maw. She was so cute, trying to get on top of the rocks. Wait, why was he thinking like thins? Hmmm...strange. He flicked his tail and gave a nod of 'approval' when he saw her get on top of a rock, "Good job, I could barely get on that one when I was your size, even when I was a bit bigger, seemed easy for you though compared to how long it took me to get there..."
Amesi truly had internal strength, he wondered if she realized it.
"Whats here? Well, when the sun start to go down, the sky changes colors, and everything look like its been painted with berries," he said with a nod, as he then turned his head to the sky. The sun was setting, the colors were starting to change...ut oh, he'd have to get Amesi back soon. Didn't want her to get lost or have her parents get mad though...
He decided she could chose when the right time to head home was.
