GothicAlice Okay so i'm a goth who loves to read a LOT. Aside from Bram Stoker's Dracula I can't seem to find good peices of gothic liturature. Anything from supernatural to documents on serial murders. Anything someone can find me i'd be very greatful. I need the book name and the name of the author. try out Chun sue's Beijing Baby....it's a really good book and every one should give it a try, for people who like Rock,Punk,Nirvana and music like that this is a excellent book for you, it's in the 90's and yeah, that's all i'm gonna bother writing for now....REALLY GOOD BOOK! read it! and theres another book called Hibi no pisau (snakes and earrings) by i can't remember her name! it won the Japanese literature award in 2004 and is one of the best books i've read...for people who are abit sadistic this is a good book for you!

-Resurrected Writer- Mary Shelley's Frankenstein 'Tis luff. <3 I had to study that for school... Frankenstein spent too much time in pity parties for my liking, constantly whining about the creature he created because it didn't worship him for his intellect, which is what Frankenstein wanted IMO. And when the creature when postal, well, Frankenstein made his bed and he had to lie in it...which he didn't like.. he was a hard lead to feel any sympathy or empathy for

Ah.3 I read a lot but never remember titles or authors. Buuuut, I'm a Laurel K. Hamilton [sp?] fan. Anne Rice, most of hers are good. I liked "Cal de Sac" forget who that was by. "The Ruby Tear" was alright. Stephen King, Dean Koontz. Not so much goth, more into murder and etc. Oh! Grave Instinct was pretty good. If you dig people eating brains. Thomas Harris. [I think that's his name.] Loved Hannial Rising.<3 If you want a tear jerker, try " A child called It " x_x Can't think. Too late. 3 I'll try again later.

Stephen King will be the father of my babies.
Read everything he ever did. Ever.
Except the Dark Towers, I don't like those.

Anything by Terry Pratchett (my friend just got me into his stories, and they ROCK!). "The Plucker" by Brom. Classic stories like "The Great Gatsby" and "Ethan Frome" are really good as well. "Grimms Grimmest" and anything else by the same author (it's all old fairy tales, like Snow White and Cinderella, but they are the original stories with all the grotesque bits that they edited out when they translated the stories)

Frankenstein is a huge must-read for many Goths, Writers and other dark or poetic people. Along with (a very boring at first) Dr.Jekyl and Mr.Hyde. I'm trying to get copies of the both. Some goths like tragedy, so you could try some of Shakespeares books... I have "Romeo and Juliet" and "A midsummer night's dream" already. smile
