I played a song called "Majestia". Best song we played at All-County, hands down.

Asthen ugh i HATE swearingen. all of his stuff sounds the same. talk2hand we sight read something he arranged today at festival, sight read celebration for winds and percussion earlier this year, played covington square my freshman year, and played freedom's march in 7th grade. last year for festival we played emblem of unity, though. i liked that march. Omg, I am glad I'm not the only one that thinks so! We played Covington Square last year and it got on my nerves so much, then this year I think he arranged the Nutcracker that we played D:< It was for HS band, though, since my band was terribly small last year T__T

O hyeah we play pieces by him all the time. I can't think of any off the top of my head but we joke about how many of his pieces we've played. Another Composer my band master buys a lot is Robert W. Smith

My band director knows Jim and he comes to all of out concerts. He writes high school music, also, it's usually ridiculous.

Mr. Swearingen's a pretty nice guy. He came to visit our school because he wanted our band to sightread a piece he was working on. I believe it was called Eiger. I thought it was pretty. Mr. Swearingen even told us the story behind his piece saying he imagined some guy climbing a mountain. Overall, it was fun. ^^
