Oak followed art, but didn't run. He didn't see a point in running... to a hole in the ground. As the tree child arrived, Oak slowly inched his way closer and closer to the edge of the hole, but stood a good distance away, just enough to lean over a bit to see what Art was looking at.
"It's s.s..scary..."
Oak managed to mutter, with a shakened airy voice.
Lifting his hand to the side of his face, the boy pushed back the few strands of hair that managed to fall over his eyes.

Art looked at the boy one eye brow raised and her mouth all mess up. She was confused, a boy was scared of something? strange. Not that she had much experience with boys but from what her mom read her they tended to be brave.
With a shrug of her shoulders Art squatted on the ground and began to slide down into the hole.

"Wait... wha... where are you going?" Oak stammered, scooting himself back inch by inch. Not wanting to accidentally fall in. As he watched Art crawl her way down, Oak began to feel slightly jealous over her bravery. Why couldn't he amount to anything of such?
Oak has always been to scared to do anything for as long as he could remember, but he didn't plan on changing or challenging himself to change that fact.

"But why? It's scary looking." Oak's body shivered. Then a feeling of being left alone soared through his body. It was something different alright and it was enough to motivate Oak enough to start climbing down. Slowly he lowered himself to the ground and brought both of his feat around. Carefully positioning himself over the ledge.
The tree boy began to make his way down, slowly though. Enough that Art was going to hit the bottom first and would have to wait a while before he even made it down.
Oak hugged the wall like he was clinging for his life.

Art looked up at the boy, they sure were confusing. He said it was scary yet he followed her down. Not that she minded, she wanted him to follow her. But he seemed so pathetic clinging to the dirt like his entire existence depended on it. If he fell he would get wet with maybe a few scrapes. Somehow Art knew this couldn't be the worst that could happen to you. Still, she had little sense of competition when compared to compassion. She began to ascend the hole until she was beside Oak. "I help, grab me if slip k? " She looked down, "Fall not to bad anyway."

"Oh... Ok" Oak's body began to shake slightly with fear of falling, but it was a bit more comforting when Art offered to help him out if he needed it. The boy began to feel a little more comfortable around her, a bit more trusting, is this what you called friends? Kyo had talked to him a lot about making friends with the other children in the compound.
With his final step the boy was finally on the dirt floor of the hole. "I'mm just scared I’ll break one of these branches off from falling." Oak dug his toe into the ground while his eyes took in the color of the damp soil. A little rosy color blushed onto his face.
"Thank you, Art"

"No worries." Art smiled and knelt next to the water. "The water makes the branches strong." She said, repeating something her mom had told her about water one night when she refused to bathe. She hoped that it made the boy feel better, he seemed concerned for the branches, which was fine, but she thought the water was far more interesting. "Oak is branch too?"

Oak stepped closer to Art and the pool of water. Kneeling down next to the young girl. Oak put a hand out in front of him and placed it down into the water. The cool crisp feeling pulsated through this hand and through his veins. A sense of refresh ness pulsated through his wooden figure.
"Me a branch? I don't know, Kyo hasn't told me anything other than what these where called. We been going to the forest and he teaches me about trees and plants." Oak nodded with a smile.
"I wana be a gardener when I grow up. Kyo tells me all about gardening and stuffs."

"Mom say all dings need water." Art repeated proudly for remembering something like that. She gently swirled her hand in the water creating ripples. She loved how graceful the water was.
She mused over the rest of the boy's words and finally asked, "Gardening?" Art looked up at the boy, "Wats, dat?"

"Gardening?"
Oak tapped his finger against his wooden chin. Shifting his weight and his body around, the boy rested his stomach on the moist ground and swirled his free hand around in the pool of rippling water.
"It's umm, like a person who takes cares of plants and stuffs. Like forests and gardens in front of people’s houses." Oak nodded a small unsure smile on his face. "It's a lot of fun. We play in the dirt and put new plants in the ground. Then sometimes we have water fights." Oak smirked. Remembering the last time the two of them played in the water. If he remembered right, Kyo was furious when he trudged all that water inside the house. That always made Oak smile.

"fun!" Art cooed, getting a mischievous smile on her face. Quick as she had thought of it she leapt into the water, sending water out in all directions. She then proceeded to lift and toss water at oak splashing him as she laughed.

Just as soon as the water hit his wooden skin most of it was soaked up into his body. A refreshing feeling soared throughout him. Oak shook his head then a smile grew on his face and soon began to return the favor. Reaching down, Oak cupped his hands and filled them up with the chilled water and threw it into the air.
The boy then stood up and jumped high into the air and mimicked Art as he came crashing down on whatever water remained.

Art continued to giggle out loud as she splashed in the water and played with the mud. She was to young to care that her clothes were currently a mess, this was too much darn fun!
She picked up a mud pie and dumped it on her own head before doing the same to Oak, as she continued to giggle up a storm.

Oak giggled out loud as soon as the mud pie landed on him. Something about this water and this mud actually made him feel comfortable. Like some kind of sensation soaring through his body. Could it be his body was taking on a few nutrients here and there from the mud? Oh well he didn't really care for that, just as long as he had fun that’s all that mattered.
Through all the mud and jumping around. Oak noticed something on Art. The boy quickly came to a stop and pointed at the little piece of art on Art's waist. "What's that thing there?"
