I played the game with Vincent in my party ever since I got him in Nibelheim on disc 1 and I have never gotten such an event. It doesn't exist. domokun

Also, if Vincent had sex with Lucrecia, don't you think Hojo would be able to see that while experimenting on her?
I mean, even if Hojo was crazy he was still a very talented scientist and it is very easy to find out about parentage through cells and DNA. 3nodding

But there really isn't enough facts in the game for us to know everything concerning this matter. What if Hojo was lying when he claimed to be Sephiroths father? The only thing we can do is hope for some more facts in the upcoming games and the movie.

Well, you see, the rules of storytelling essentially go like this: If something is stated as fact, yet is never contested by anything within the story, and there's never a suggestion that it isn't fact, and the creators never say it isn't or give a suggestion that it may not be, then it is fact until new material/evidence is brought forth, either from a sequel or a prequel. So being that Hojo's claim is never contested by anyone, and nothing within the game suggests that his claim could be false, he is Sephiroth's father. Unless Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, or Crisis Core presents some new information on the matter, there is no possibility other than Hojo being Sephiroth's father based on what information currently is available.

That's why claims such as those seen on the second half of the first Page are ridiculus. Aside from the great deal of blatantly false information (such as Lucrecia injecting herself with JENOVA Cells, something never stated or suggested, and even contradicted based on what Hojo tells us), they require one to actually alter what the writer created, either taking away or adding to, something not within our authority.

Anyway, I too hope for some more actual facts to be presented to us in the upcoming sequel, hopefully nullifying misconceptions and outright false information such as we've seen presented on the latter half of Page 1, as well as those seen on the first 8 Pages of the Sephy Thread that was locked.

Thank you for your input. ^^

Ms Perrin, I am very curious to see this "hidden event" that reveals Vincent as the father of Sephiroth. I'm not saying it isn't there, I am by no means an expert on the game, but your statements do seem incredible (if not outright impossible) without such proof. Many people here, including me, have completed the game without seeing this event, in some cases several times. I realize that you say it is "hidden", but anything hidden can be found if you look in the right place, and you seem to know where to look. Care to bestow us with this information?

I just want Squall of SeeD to know that this is probably one of the most thought out and best explainations of events in a game i have ever heard.

I can only think of one agruement of Vincent possibly being sephiroth's father and I highly doubt it to be true since there is no proof in the game of it. And that would have been if Vincent and Lucecia had created a child and then she rejected vincent. Hojo could still consider himself the father in the sense of 'creating' sephiroth into the power being he became. And Vincent might not have known if it was his. But there is no sign of this in the game and it never comes up. I believe if this were the case there would have been something in the game about it. That is the only way i can see of it being possible for Vincent to be the father...unless the whole game was nothing but a lie!

Woot, I hjave nothing to say whee Good job squall! I idolize your explanation 3nodding

Even though Sephy is a villain or anti-hero, he's one of my top idols (yes, I know this is off topic, but I just love showing appreciation for sephy, even if he was half controlled by JENOVA)

Interesting, still no explanation from Ms Perrin. No new posts at all, that I've seen. I wonder why.

Yeah, it's very annoying..someone makes up a fact that doesn't exist and then it circulates on the net, and people start to actually believe it's true. domokun The part about Vincent being Seph's father is used a lot in fanfics so I can guess where that came from. rolleyes

It's great to have you here, at last there's someone here who can clear these things out for the newbs now! blaugh

He lying!

The game hints at Vincent being Sephiroth's real father. And there is a hidden event that even says he is.

Actually, no, there is no such event that says that.

Acctually... I did get this event, although i don't ever recall how i managed it, and i was never able to achive it again...

Are you sure you didn't misinterpret something from the flashback in Lucrecia's Cave? Otherwise, could you please offer us a quote from this event, or a screenshot at the least, in light of you not remembering how to get it?

As much as I want to give you the benefit of the doubt in regard to your memory and what you're saying, being that no strategy guide anywhere makes note of such an event, that it is in no script of the game anywhere, and that no one using a GameShark or other game coding-hacking device has made mention of it or offered evidence of it, I find it not only unlikely, but impossible.
