Xirai waved away Caprice's apology for Terak. "Oh, it's not a big deal. I honestly don't mind waiting til the end. That just means I get to watch you perform." A smile crossed his lips as he said that. "I'm quite interested to see what you'll be doing."

Caprice's ears stood straight up, and she blushed a little. She had forgotten that Xirai wanted to watch her perform... and the idea made her a little nervous. Under other cirucmstances, it wouldn't have matterd, but it was... different. She actually cared wether or not she impressed Xirai. She brushed her hair out of her face, glancing up more shyly than before, "I'm not even sure what I'll be doing yet. Terak hasn't told me what else the show needs."

"I'm sure whatever he has you doing, you'll do a wonderful job of it. No matter what you do, you always seem to be good at it, from what I've seen." Xirai smiled comfortingly, trying to cheer Caprice up. "Anyway, don't make yourself nervous, that won't help matters, now will it?" He chuckled.
Kireen slipped off and laid down near the tree Kushin was now leaning against, and watched the goings on around the troupe's little stage, observing the hustle and bustle of the pre-show setup.

Caprice smiled, nodding softly, "You're right Xirai... thank you. I'm sure whatever it is, Terak won't push me too hard." She reached upand took off her cloak, draping it over her arm before glancing toward the stage, where Terak was finishing his talk with the twins.
Terak nodded, getting the final adjustments made with the twins, then hopped down from the stage and jogged over to Xirai and Caprice, "It's all good. The twins will take care of that canopy at the end of their act. Then you should be all set to do your bit." He thumped Xirai on the shoulder and grinned, "This should be quite the show. We've never had a half-dragon before."

Xirai's smile broadened. at Terak's comment. "Well then, I'll have to make it a memorable first time, won't I?" Tossing his sword up in the air, he caught it with a raised hand, and stuck it into the ground. "I just hope the audience likes what I do for them." Remembering what Caprice had been saying, he looked back at Terak and asked. "So, what do you have our pretty friend here doing tonight?"

Caprice blushed brightly, and started to fidget with her shirt sleeves, glaincing at Terak...
The troupe leader laughed heartily, "I hadn't quite decided... but I'm sure it will be fine..." He pulled Xirai aside, purposely keeping the conversation away from Caprice, "She'll never admit it, but she's quite the crowd-pleaser. She just gets shy about it." He chuckled, then backed away again, "I think I'll have her in Gren's act, though, and then she can play a song. How about that Cappy?" He crossed his arms and tilted his head, in a very similar way to how Caprice herself often did.
Caprice's ears stood up and she blinked, "Er... if you're sure that's what will work. Just tell Gren to be careful this time, alright?" She glanced between the two, wondering what they'd been whispering about, but now she was more focused on the act... it had been a while since she'd tried that one...

Xirai grinned. "Well, this should be interesting then! When does the show start?" He was quite looking forward to seeing the whole thing, and his own performance as well. He glanced around at the troupe members and noticed that they seemed to be putting the finishing touches on whatever they were doing.

Terak looked up at the sky, then at the troupe, "Actually, I sent Soren to go start drawing people in... so we ought to get finished up." He brought his hand to his mouth and whistled sharply, the signal for the troupe to start finishing up, "Alright guys! Let's get this show going!" He nodded at Xirai and Caprice, heading toward the carts behind the main wagon/stage, "There's costumes in there. I know Caprice needs one, but it's up to you if you want one pal.." He thumped Xirai on the shoulder and nodded, "I'll be getting things finished up, the twins will fill you in on your cue." He turned and walked toward the front again, while a tall skinny youth came trotting toward the clearing, shouting back to a crowd to come and see the grand spectacle.
Caprice glanced up at Xirai, then smiled a little, disguising her slight nervousness, "Are you scared at all?" She stepped up into the wagon and shuffled through the costumes in the back as she spoke. She pulled out one in bright whites, pinks, and oranges. It was form fitting, but seemed to have supplemental pieces made of a flowing fabric. This seemed to be exactly what she was looking for, "Did you want to look through here?" She stepped down from the cart, holding her costume, and tilted her head up at Xirai.

"Hmm... I suppose something a bit more interesting than what I'm wearing might be in there..." He plucked at the plain black robe he wore, then grinned. "Wouldn't want to rob the crowd of anything..." He rummaged through the costumes until he found stretchy body suit made of a white fabric, with purple, and blue accents. Tugging at it to test how durable it was, he smiled. "This should do well... It should let me move easily enough." Glancing up and down it, he nodded. Yes... This will work well..."

Caprice blinked a moment at the body suit, then blushed again, "That... that should do just fine. I don't know how it will hold up under shapechanging though..." She glanced away and tried not to think too hard on the idea of Xirai in that outift. She knew she'd see it eventually anyway, "Ah... if you'll excuse me, I'd better go change into my costume... I don't know exactly when Gren is going on, but I won't have a chance to change once he's ready..." She nodded a bit, then slipped off behind the main wagon quietly, disappearing into another small cart used for quickly changing clothes...
As if on cue, the pair of twins, Emi and Kino, came running up. They were around seven years old, and looked up at Xirai with experience beyond their age. The two of them fixed the half-dragon with identical gazes, then Emi, the girl spoke up, "You must be the guest we're having in the show today. Terak said you're really good." Her brother, Kino, smiled brightly and nodded, "He told us how we need to finish our act, so you can have more space. We're going to pull down the canopy during the last bit of our routine." "Then you can go ahead and come onto the stage. We'll be gone by then, so you should probably make it look good." The two of them then nodded, "But if you're as good as Terak says, I bet you already know that!"

Xirai smiled down at the twins' exuberant display. "Well now! I'll just have to hope you don't show me up before I even get on stage, now won't I?" He laughed, and gestured with one hand. As the palm of his hand turned upwards, a small flash pulsed above it, and was gone. "I'm looking forward to seeing you two perform, I'm told you're hard to follow up on stage, which means you're good. I'd like to see just how good you really are."

The twins grinned enthusiastically, then nodded, "Yes sir! We'll be sure to do our best!""But you have to do your best too! We heard you're a real half-dragon... so we really want to see what you can do!" The two of them beamed at the flash in Xirai's hand, then they heard a distinct throat clearing behind them, and turned to see Terak.
Terak gave the twins a mock stern look, then laughed, "Alright you two, go on and get stretched and changed. I'll take care of Mr. Xirai from here. And remember you told him you'd do your best, so don't forget it!" He patted them both on the back and sent them scurrying off into the mishmash of people behind the wagon stage. "They're really good kids. And they haven't stopped talking about meeting you ever since I told them." He leaned against the costume cart and crossed his arms, "So did you find something that suits you? It looks like Caprice already took off to change..." He chuckled, "I'll need to change while she's out there with Gren, it's just enough time, if it goes according to plan."

Xirai smiled at the twins, and laughed. "Of course I'll do my best. I'll have to with you two on stage before me, now won't I?" As they trotted off, he smiled after them, then looked at Terak. "Oh, yes. I did find something that will work quite well." He indicated the body suit and grinned. "It seemed to get Caprice's attention pretty fast, too. I just hope it doesn't distract her too much thinking about it... It looked like she couldn't stop when she left."

Terak looked at the suit, then burst out laughing, "That one would get her attention. It's pretty snug. You're a brave man..." He chuckled, then reached in and shuffled around in the cart before pulling out his own costume, which was tucked into the back among the girls things to keep anyone from accidentally taking it. It was actually a simple outfit, a very nice pair of pants and a good shirt, "I won't be doing the crazy things like you and Caprice, but I can't very well wear my training clothes!" He chuckled, and decided to go ahead and get dressed, so he climbed into the cart and shut the door enough to change, which took a matter of moments, "But you can probably slip off to watch Caprice perform with Gren, they'll be second... and I promise you'll be impressed." He smirked, arching an eyebrow, "What she needs work on in tumbling, she makes up for in this act... But I'd better go start the ball rolling!" He grinned again, then jogged around to the front of the stage and started to introduce the first performers of the evening.
Caprice, wearing her full outfit, crept off to the other side of the stage, and stayed near Gren, since she knew they were going second. She made sure to avoid being spotted by Xirai, as she didn't want to give everything away just yet. The more of a surprise the act was, the more impressive it would be...
Terak jumped up onto the stage and held up his arms, "Sweet ladies! Noble gentlemen! Our humble troupe welcomes you tonight! We've assembled here some of our finest performers from all over the country, and it is our pleasure to treat you with a showcase of some of their greatest talents! Prepare to be amazed as these masters of their craft come on stage to give you their very best performances!" He accented everything with large showman-like gestures, winking at the odd pretty girl, and kneeling down to gently kiss the hand of an elderly woman near the front, "We present for your approval, our very first of the night's spectacles. Hester and Jen wish to treat you with their sweet voices and gentle dance..." He swept back toward the side of the stage, and the two girls took their positions for their performance.

Xirai smiled broadly, and laughed at Terak's reaction to the outfit he had chosen. "I suppose I am, at that. Though I didn't want to perform in this robe, that wouldn't be very crowd pleasing, now would it?" He waved as Terak headed off to start the show, and slipped inside the cart to change. Pulling the robe off over his head, he carefully pulled on the body suit, which molded itself to his body as it went on. Once he had gotten his arms though the sleeves, he nodded to himself, and tried changing forms. His body changed from the white fox-human to a normal human, then to his half-dragon form, and back. The suit stretched easily, and changed to accommodate his wings in his half dragon form. Smiling to himself, he looked through the costume parts one last time, and didn't find anything else to help his looks, so he headed off to watch the show from behind the stage, plucking his sword out of the ground as he went.
