There's a couple links in this guild's main forum, in a sticky called "Religious Links".

Dumna Where can I learn more about them? I'm very interested. There's also a more non-religious Guild here on Gaia called the Jedi Order. Well, it's religious in a sense but not in the sense most people mean by religion. It's more about being a honorable, upstanding citizen and helping people. You can search for the guild on the guilds network.

Well, would it be a religion or a philosophy? I think on the Satanism explained thread, they have the requirements for a religion...
Edit: found it! :3Quote: 1. Belief in supernatural beings (gods) 2. A distinction between sacred and profane objects 3. Ritual acts focused on sacred objects 4. A moral code believed to be sanctioned by the gods 5.Characteristically religious feelings (awe, sense of mystery, sense of guilt, adoration) which tend to be aroused in the presence of sacred objects and during the practice of ritual, and which are connected in idea with the gods. 6. Prayer and other sort of communication with gods 7. A worldview, or a general picture of the world as a whole and the place of the individual therein. This picture contains specifications of an overall purpose or point of the world and an indication of how the individual fits into it. 8. A more or less total organization of one's life based on the worldview. 9. A social group bound together by the above. I think that if these are considered the requirements for a religion, is Jedi...ism(?) a religion?

While maybe not fitting the idea of "religion," it easily fits the idea of a belief. In most cases, the term religion and belief can be used almost interchangably. Atheism, Agnosticism, Jedism, and even Atheistic Satanism can all fit into the category of "belief."
However, Jedis do believe in a supernatural force, a distinction between profane and non, a moral code, feelings of awe and guilt, a worldview of their own, and have a social group. 6 out of 9 isn't that bad...

Particularly considering that the definition of religion is highly amorphous and can't easily be boiled down to a nice set of points no matter how hard we attempt to make it so. For example, some modern Pagans do not see the Gods as "supernatural" at all, but perfectly natural. Earth-centered religions do not tend to make a strong distinction between 'sacred' and 'profane; -- Native American beliefs typically view all things as sacred. And then there's Buddhism, commonly considered a religion, but does not fit several of the given criteria, including belief in a divine force. xd
