"Yes, there is...but Cynara, do you realize how dangerous that stallion could be now? What you yourself witnessed...hell, what I witnessed seems to indicate you could be putting your very life in jeopardy if you try to force anything on him."
Anything like, oh...company. Zaphiro had only witnessed the tail end of their confrontation, but it was enough for him to be firmly wary of him. That stallion was dangerous, plain and simple.

"Of course I know how dangerous he is now, I don't want to force anything on him. For I know that would be pointless he's to wild of a spirit to let anything be forced but if he doesn't learn from his consequences now he's going to end up...end up..." she looked to him. She was glad she had a friend like Zaphiro, he was a good conversationist and understanding. A shoulder to lean on when she needed it and caring...she just wished Ares would change.

A slight frown crossed Zaphiro's lips, knowing full well what it was that Cynara couldn't bring herself to say. And since he DID know what she was saying... "Don't worry about it, Cynara; there's time enough to fret when it can't be avoided. At the moment, I'd say you'd fretted enough. What are you doing out here, anyway? I can't believe you'd come all this way into the country to get in a fight."
Change of subject, anyone?

"I heard one of my beloveds were in trouble so I tried to come to his aid, to put it simply. Though these lands do hold a beauty of their own don't they?" She looked out to see the heads of mountain tops in the distance. She looked back to him, she didn't mind the topic change. It would be a relief.

A slight nod was all the response that Zaphiro had for the first statement, so eager was he to seize onto the second and officially change the subject. "Indeed they do. It's no small wonder that so many Soquili live out here, really."
Indeed, Zaphiro had always thought that this part of the Soquili lands was the most beautiful, to say nothing of the most peaceful. There were virtually no kalona, no skinwalkers, no nothing. Just space...

She nodded softly as well looking to him, "Yeah, I would suggest it to Itzpapalotl but all of my herd mates are comfertable where we live. Comfertable." she nodded. "So besides are small drama, how has your day been?" she looked to him almost in full reign of herself. Almost as if nothing had happened and her feelings were being concealed as if someone slammed a steel door shut not to be opened.

..."Itzpapalotl?" He wasn't really sure whether that was the name of a Soquili or a herd; from her comment, though, he was guessing it was a Soquili. Maybe the head of her herd?
Regardless, it was good to have something else to talk about. "And my day has been pretty decent. It's warm out, I got to hang out at a favorite spot of mine, and the crosswinds are perfect for flight." Random small talk always helped to ease over awkwardness, right?

“Itzpapalotl is the human female I live with.” She nodded. “Some call her Lily, but her true name is Itzpapalotl.” She smiled looking to Zaphiro as her eyes were drawn to those great wings of his as usual. “That’s good,” his day sounded like it was going perfectly until he wound up in her presence and she screwed it up. She eyed his wings, “What’s it like to fly?” she asked curiously, her tone carried it farther that she truly wanted to know. She always wanted to fly but she lacked the necessity of wings. She thought it would be great…freedom. She wondered what Zaphiro perceived it as freedom or like some a curse. Though she didn’t understand why some cursed their wings. So unique and beautiful to be a curse.

"Huh. How would you communicate with her, though? Two-leggers can't understand us...or does yours read body language, too?" He'd heard that some two-leggers were able to interpret Soquili body language pretty well; his own was actually somewhat decent at it, though not anything dramatic.
Her question made him smile, though. It seemed to be a common perception among other Soquili that having wings was something special; he supposed that on one level it was, but he'd never considered it that dramatic. Unis could heal, flutters could change size, winds could fly...it was all part of the great natural order of things. But he knew that frequently, those that didn't have wings wished they did.
So it was with a thoughtful expression that he tilted his head to one side, considering his answer carefully. "Well, I suppose that flying is a lot like walking in that it gets us from place to place; however, you can see much farther, move much faster, and cover obstacles that would slow or flat-out prevent walking. Some Soquilis I know are devoted to flight, others don't really care for it; I myself appreciate it, but I still enjoy walking."

“Well, my father and Itzpapalotl have been with each other since Cyrus was a foal and I guess they created a semi-based language on needs rather than wants. So they grew up together learning and teaching each other how to communicate so they know what one is up to and what the other needs. It’s quite unique what they share, she also helped me out and we can understand each other on a second level base where as her and Cyrus are like one. If she doesn’t understand something I do, she usually looks to Cyrus to explain which is actually sort of funny to watch her try and figure it out.” She smiled. “She’s quite an amazing two legger, she is a shaman too. You should meet her sometime.” She nodded.
As he spoke of flying, he sounded so calm. Tranquil as if it were something he liked talking about, or rather something he did not mind at all. Though it seemed he liked her curiosity about him for he smiled when she asked. “Interesting,” she looked at him, “Some live solely on flying? That is odd, it sounds rather difficult to fly all the time. Especially in horrid weather, and they’d miss some of the greatest scenery of the forests.” How she enjoyed her long walks, whether it be day or night. She loved nature and its being, though sometimes she wished for a bit more. She hadn’t met any other breeds of soquili besides winged and kalonas so it was quite a treat to meet someone with them without them being a snot about everything. She sore kalonas always had something up their butt to make them so feisty.

"Huh." Well, that was new to Zaphiro, though he supposed it made sense. If one was capable of adopting the habits and mannerisms of fellow Soquilis that they spent time with, then he supposed it made sense that the same system could be worked out with a two-legger. They weren't stupid, after all.
But he wasn't sure if he was quite up to meeting this two-legger. Smiling, he lowered his head and shook it slightly at Cynara, raising it with a chuckle. "An intriguing concept, but I've never really been comfortable around two-leggers." Even the one that he 'lived' with he tended to deal with in small doses; he wasn't sure what it was about the species, but there was just something...eerie about them.
But, moving on. "Well, I suppose the best way to describe those that exclusively fly is overzealousness, or possibly obsession. They'll fly and only touch down to rest and eat. Though I know that the opposite exists; to my knowledge, my herdmate Indawo hasn't used his wings once since he was a young foal. and walks everywhere instead." Whether or not that was still true, he couldn't say; Indawo hadn't been around for months, after all. But that was common, from what he'd heard from Safi, so he didn't worry. Indawo was tough.
"Though I guess it's all a matter of opinion. Some would rather battle winds in the air than try to manage on the ground. Strange, but true."

The ebony female looked up to him with a casual flick of her short mane, she remembered their last conversation on how she adored his long locks and he seemed to think her short mane was, 'cute'. The thought made her smile, she didn't mind conversations with him. They were actually quite interesting. She didn't talk to him like she talked to Arro, Arro was to much like herself sometimes a very good friend. And it wasn't like some stallions and even mares that came to chat and seemed to be a one way conversation...where as all they did was smile and nod and wander back off. That annoyed her, then again some things bugged her more than others. Liars and stupid soquili seemed to be at her top at the moment.
Her orbs flickered over, she shrugged "S'lright," she replied referring back to him meeting with her indian friend. She moved as the conversation moved as if it were some tango. "How many did you say you had as herdmates? I remember speaking of it with our last meeting but my memory tends to fail at certain points."

Random conversation shift...or maybe not so random, given the current trends in conversation. Chuckling at the suddenly renewed interest, Zaphiro was quick to oblige. "Technically, there are seven; though my herdmate Indawo is never arround any more and hasn't appeared for months. But the rest of us are also transient for the most part, so we don't usually have to worry about space."
Which was, frankly, a boon. Especially now, since Safi's daughter was out of her basket. It was astonishing how energetic foals could be, and how fast they could wear out an adult. And as if that wasn't enough, there was ANOTHER basket lying around! Crazy how that worked out... "How many did you have, again?"

"My father, Erik and his son Ares." She looked to him, "And me of course, though if your going to count two leggers their his Itzpapalotl as well." She smiled and chuckled slightly. "There were a few nights were all five of us slept in their. We broke the teepee once and we made it bigger, it could fit eight or nine soquili now. It's amazing!" She was happy with their progress and it showed. "Though I do not think we will have to worry about that."

"Ah, from the sound of it your two-legger is very practical. My two legger simply put up more teepees as our herd expands. We have six teepees now, as a matter of fact, five that are just for the use of we Soquili. It's a decent system, though we aren't really around that much to warrant their use."
To be frank, Zaphiro had been a bit surprised to see all those teepees the last time he'd been back to the compound...of course, he hadn't known they'd gotten two new herdmates, either. Strange how things changed when you weren't around...
