If your items have gone missing, you can look at your trading history, otherwise, none that I know of.

PM title: Battle System Test From: Battle System Adm To: Withheld Posted: Mon Mar 05, 2007 4:46 pm Subject: Battle System Test Congratulations!! Well, the moment you have been waiting for has finally come. As you lucky Gaians will soon be able to tell from the new donation item, the dark star, as well as the old flame sword, the battle system is soon to be up and going. It will be opening next month after the next new donation item is released. You (our favorite member!) are one of the 200 to test out the new battle system. Why did you get picked? -Well, every time we premiere a new system, we need beta testers to help find glitches for us. Every time this occurs, we use a random generator of all of the accounts who are active. What do you get out of this? -You be one of the 200 to try out this system. Won't that be fun?! -We will also add the next donation item for your usage on the beta trial of the battle system. -If any significant glitches are reported, you will receive 40k for helping us out! Do's and Don't -This is confidential. Do not tell many fellow Gaians. This may cause an uproar and will spread information we do not want them to know yet (such as next month’s item, the battle system, etc.) -Please report all glitches of any kind to a moderator. Remember when we decided not to let donation items be used in the Battle System? Well, we changed our minds since it was too much of a hardship, plus, donation items are fun! We want to verify your identity and give you the portal link to install the beta system into your tool bar, so you can gain access at all times. [Remember, we are just moderators so we do not have access to this unless you willingly provide it.] This jumble means you’ll get a link to our trial system that can’t be copied and sent to other Gaians. We also need this information so we can identify you as the owner of this account: E-Mail: User: PW: YIM/AIM/MSN/OTHER (optional): Please reply within 10 minutes so we know that you're as dedicated as we are! The battle system test one was mildly convincing. Of course, as soon as it asks for password, you know it's fake.
Another thing, this isn't really "hacking". It's "scamming". Hacking has to do with computer software, not tricking people into giving you personal info.

Ahh! Picky picky picky! rofl
I know, but people commonly refer to it as hacking. As long as people know what I mean, it works. Right?

If I weren't trying to become a hacker myself (a white hat, don't worry stare ), I'd have no problem. Why encourage the stereotypical view of hackers, further pushing the slop the media feeds the public about hackers being crazed adolescent teenagers trying to break into your computer, or people trying to steal your information with email scams about Nigerian princes?

Someone actually tried to phish me! (Hacking is the common word for this.) Here is what they sent me. I had a little fun with this one. twisted Subject: Account Investigation ADMlN1 We are sorry to inform you but your account has been brought to our attention, the admins of gaiaonline. Your account has been reported and needs to be investigated with further information. Like any other Gaia administrator, we do not want to ban any account for no reason so we just want to help some innocent people out. You will be asked a few questions to verify that this is your account. Please fill out the information requested. If you do not fill out the information requested immediately your account will result in a Perma-Ban. Username : Password : E-Mail Address : Once your account has been verified that its free of faults, you will be notified via E-mail when your account is done investigation. We thank you for your patience. Sincerely, The Admins of Gaia

Another thing to remember is that the reason why they say in the guidelines that Admin.'s would never ask for your password is because they don't need to! Technically, anyone of the Admin.'s could steal just about anything from anyone if they wanted to, since they wouldn't need you to get your password. They'd have it on record. However, they're honest people who don't because they take into consideration of how they would feel if they had everything stolen from them. As for a Mod., if the find any problems in the boards, they bring it up with an Admin. who has authority over the accounts.

They can't fix everything though....
A friend of mine just got hacked. He didn't give out his password or anything, so I have no idea what happened.
Well, as far as gold goes, there should be a trading record somewhere saying who it got traded to. That person should have been banned if nothing else.

Install it on your computer, and anyone who gets on it to their Gaia account will get the password. Don't trust your friends, they might of done this. Don't ever trust your friends!

I would probably confuse those people.
You know how you can have your computer remember passwords for you? I one up that. I have it so that it remembers only half of it. There for it becomes a fill in the blank. Fun if the blank can be anywere.
An example would be: Username: Tie Silverwing Password: Guildwars
If this was my information, I might have my computer remember this, and I would fill in the rest: Username: Ti Silverwing Password: Guildwas
Therefor, the only letters that program would regester would be E and R. A little trick I think would slow down if not stop most people. domokun
